Matthew Jay is a British singer-songwriter born in Plymouth, England on the 10th October 1978. In 1999 at the age of 20 he signed his first record deal despite never having played a single live concert. Two E.P.s ('Four Songs' and 'Friendly Fire') were released in 2000 with his debut album, 'Draw', following in 2001.
On the 25th September 2003 he suffered a fatal fall from a window of a London flat. A posthumous collection of rarities was released in August 2004 entitled 'Too Soon'. His second album on which he was working at the time of his death has yet to be made public.
