"Trinity Roots" (1998-2005) were a successful band from Wellington, New Zealand. Although they fit within New Zealand reggae they also embodied a stripped back, jazz and soul influenced rhythmic sound, which would often build up to highly emotional drum and guitar led crescendos.

The band released two highly acclaimed albums, ''True'' and ''Home Land and Sea''. The title track from Home Land and Sea is a heartfelt anthem to Aotearoa and refers to the New Zealand Government's refusal to back down over the controversial Seabed and foreshore legislation.

Trinity Roots have played alongside international acts including Ben Harper, Lee Scratch Perry, The Mad Professor, as well as local bands such as Fat Freddys Drop, Salmonella Dub and Che Fu. Trinity Roots would often tour small towns on sellout tours. The band's song ''Little Things'' was featured prominently in an episode of the cartoon Bro Town.
