Subject: TAB: Sleepyhouse by Blind Melon
Sleepyhouse - Blind Melon
Tab by Duncan Koerber
This song (like most by BM) contains a bunch of guitars, acoustic
and a couple electric. It's HARD to tab for one guitar but I've tried.
At times my tab jumps from the acoustic guitar part to the electric
guitar part because I either can't hear the guitar I was tabbing or the
part being played is very important to the uniqueness of the song
and needs to be played no matter what guitar you are using.
For the verse bits I play the xx0232 D chord and later I use
the x577xx D5 chord in its place. play which ever feels right.
During the verses the acoustic guitar part is picked out but I've just
listed the chords.
Standard tuning...
Chords used:
D - xx0232 D/F# xx4232 G 320030 F#5 x91111xx A5 x022xx
F - 133211 D5 x577xx E5 x799xx C5 x355xx
[D]No time frame for [D/F#]what I need to [G]do to[D]day
here at the [D/F#]yellow[G]house I think that [D]I'm gonna play with
some [D/F#]free living [G]lads down the [F]street... away... away
(NOTE: I THINK this next part can be played in the open D xx0232 position with
just a few modifications but I'm not good enough to move around in such
a small space trying to create all the sounds. If you can do it, tab
it out and send it up. It'd be nice to see a different way of doing this
part of the song.. since I swear I can hear the D and F# notes of the
open D chord being played all the while the chord progression is changing.
This could just be the fact that a bunch of guitars are together though.)

[D]As I feel the moon rise the [D/F#]time that I [G]feel is the right [D]time
here in our [D/F#]sleepyhou[G]se as I wipe eye [D]bugs away
the candle [D/F#]flickers at [G]me and [F]says and in my head I sometimes pray
are you feeling [D5]fine? [E5] [D5] as I was as[E5] a li[F#5]ttle [E5]chil[D5]d[C5] [A5] [C5] [D5]
and I'm feeling better [D5]when I'm high y[E5]eah [D5]as shin[E5]ing [F#5]on a [E5]litt[D5]le [C5]uni[A5]ty.[C5] [D5]

(not sure about that ending)
[D]The mistakes that I've made no they don't [D/F#]seem to bother [G]me
[D]and I sure as hell don't feel like I've missed [D/F#]any kind of [G]train
[D]if I could only show you how I feel you [D/F#]wouldn't bother [G]me
[F]maybe you would see why we don't mind being [D]blind
