Back in the Goodle Days  John Hartford

This song is absolutely amazing, for me its about how right now is 'the goodle days' and
people spend too much time worrying about how the whole world is fucked to ever enjoy
while its here.
The intro stuff is basically the banjo in Bm pentatonic.
Verse 1:
[D]On[D]e day about twenty-five years from now,
[G]Wh[A]en we've all grown old from a-wondering how,
[F#m]Oh w[Bm]e'll all sit down at the city dump,
[E]An[A]d talk about the Goodle Days.
[F#m]Oh y[Bm]ou'll pass the joint and I'll pass the wine,
[G]An[A]d anything good from a-down the line.
[F#m]A lo[Bm]t of good things went down one time,
[G]Ba[D]ck in the Goodle Days.
[F#m]And [Bm]the Good Old Days are past and gone.
[G]A [A]lot of good people have done gone on.
[F#m]That[Bm]'s my life when I sing this song about
[G]Ba[D]ck in the Goodle Days
( Tab from: )
Verse 2:
[D]So[D]metimes I get to thinkin' that we're almost done,
[G]An[A]d there ain't nothin' left that we can figure out.
[F#m]And [Bm]I guess it must have seemed a lot more like that
[E]Ba[A]ck in the Goodle Days,
[F#m]But [Bm]when ya gotta go, ya gotta go.
[G]Th[A]ere's always somebody don'tcha know,
[F#m]A-ha[Bm]ngin' round a-sayin' "Well I told you so",
[G]Ba[D]ck in the Goodle Days.
Verse 3:
[D]Oh[D] we'll all join hands and we'll gather round,
[G]Wh[A]en that old guitar starts to make that sound.
[F#m]A lo[Bm]t of good things went down downtown,
[E]Ba[A]ck in the Goodle Days.
[F#m]Sque[Bm]ezin' love with the people that we hadn't even met,
[G]Ou[A]t for anything that we could get.
[F#m]Oh w[Bm]e did it then and we'll do it yet,
[G]Ba[D]ck in the Goodle Days.
