But the brother would not h[C7]ear his tale,
he said [Bb]Old Daniel's gonna [F]land in jail.

Then Da[Dm]niel took the harp and went h[G]igh on the hill,
And he b[C]lew across the meadow like a whi[Bb]ppoorwhill.

But as he loo[C]ked to the ground, he no[Bb]ticed no shadow did he c[F]ast.
