This is how I learned this song but I see one difference from my song sheet. Line 3 of each verse the second G chord should actually be a D...Try it. Sounds much better. Thanks

I agree. Put a capo on the 3rd fret if you wish to make it sound like recording. But, I don't think it makes much of a difference if the capo is removed. Just use the same chords shown here, and put a capo on whichever fret to correspond with the key you sing best in. This will make you more comfortable with singing the song instead of trying to sing in a key that John probably sings best/good/great in.

the lyrics "little pictures have big ears" is actually "little pitchers have big ears" it is an old term referring to children hear things that adults don't think they hear, and it references the large handles that are often times on small pitchers.... FYI

play with a capo on the 5th fret and play with an open c fingering as the root chord. This will put it in F as in the original recording. You can also keep it in F by putting a capo on the third fret and play it in D as it is written here.
