My wife never surprises me with impromptu events.  Of course, the one night I think I can kick back with my guitar, she did.  Sorry to those who tried to reach me.  Better to have a happy Momma than a happy Chordite.

Pickinatin' starts now.

Or rather, as soon as I get a cocktail.

That doesn't work for this song.  It's in E but uses a D shape at the fourth fret to get the E in an alternate sound, which then drops back to B, but the Bsus4 is off the main E shape.  It's a pretty easy shape that'll just take some practice.

It's not a formal thing, but I'm most likely to be sitting in my office tonight picking a tune or two.  If you see me on Skype, send me a ping and maybe we can have a little fun.

If more than one wants to join in, I'll pop for a premium membership finally so I can stop being a leach (not that anyone has complained).

But guess who is consistently using a B chord in a song?  Well, 80% I hit it right.  It's not a barred B chord, but it's a B chord nonetheless.  Hint: He's been working on getting one to work for six years.  The same song has a Bsus4 I'm none to happy about...

We should play then.  Wayne is home and ready to play any time through Wednesday.  Let's do it Saturday or Sunday so that we can do it early enough to let our UK brothers join in.  If no one else can host, my job is finally secure enough that I feel like I can pop for a premium membership.

I've forgotten my talent, my cues, and my lines.

I'm very sorry to hear of it.

Don't take offense at Gutaardoc's capital letters.  English is not his native language so he's already making an extra effort to converse with us, and he also has some health issues that can limit his dexterity making proper typing difficult.  I'm sure no offense was intended.

I don't know diddly about cats, but I hate it when the quadrapeds are sick.  I hope she gets to feeling tip-top real quick.

Big Wheel by Jim Croce is about a trucker trying to stay rolling.  He could be topless.  It's possible.

I'm pretty tired, else I'd be all over such an invitation but wearing pieces of paper over my sunglass lenses with the screen turned off.

About once a month.  I agree with both suggestions from Wayne and Pete.  When changing strings, loosen them until there's no tension at all and then loosen them some more to get "play", push the string down into the body of the guitar by hand, pull the pins out with the winder thingy.  Remove the string, loosen it from the tuner, then lay it aside.

I usually loosen all six of mine first, then go back and do the second loosening to get slack in them, and then remove all six laying the pegs out in order so that I can put them back into the same hole.  By doing this, I can inspect and thoroughly clean the entire fretboard at once.

You don't want to leave a guitar without strings for long.  Once it's cleaned up (a few minutes task), then put the strings back on.  I usually go from low to high.  When first installed, I tighten the strings only until starting to get a tone.  I do all six that way.  Then I come back around a few times tightening them up a little at a time until it's in tune.  I retune frequently for the first couple hours until I'm barely making adjustments after 1/2 hour of rest.

Make it yours.  Leave your mark.  That's the way to do it.

I like www.justinguitar.com and www.yourguitarsage.com.  Youguitarsage has just released a new comprehensive course that's a pay service.  I've checked out his free intro offerings, and he moves slowly, carefully, and explains each motion and step thoroughly.

That's some hot skills and neat tricks for sure, but he needs to work more melody into his art for my taste.

Well, we're a dozen or so hours before it's supposed to end and things are all calm outside.  We still have power.  There is a bit of flooding in our town.  I'm sure it's serious to the few folks affected, but from an overall regional perspective the flooding is not extensive or severe.  A few road closures and that's about the extent of it for my town.

I hope others have fared well.

Hooooooweeee.  It's getting wicked out there.  I'm surprised that we still have power.  This may be my last post for a while as I expect to lose power any moment.

We're watching the trees sway and waiting to lose power.  Each hour with it feels like a blessing.  This song seems to fit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMyCa35_mOg

Well, it's been pretty quiet in Virginia so far.  We're getting rain and wind of course, but not like what we were told to expect.  The worst is yet to come for us.  I hope all our Chordians in the Delaware, New York, New Jersey area are able to remain safe and relatively comfortable.

The best man isn't on the ballot because he didn't run.  That's the one benefit to having a monarchy.  Eventually, every once in a while, you might get someone as King or Queen who is wise enough not to want to the job.

I like www.justinguitar.com and www.yourguitarsage.com

For songs, I like Goldhat.

There are many others that I'm sure are good too.  Those are the ones I've taken the most out of.
