Well, I'm pretty sure that either President Obama will be re-elected or former Governor Romney will be elected.  Neither gets my vote because I can't in good conscience vote for either one.  But, I'm pretty sure it's going to be one or the other to take it.  My opinion is that it doesn't much matter which, we're in for a rough ride.

An inch of rain = 10" of snow.  I don't think I want 240" of snow.

But this is more like the area I wade and paddle my canoe.

Can you believe that there's a spot like this right in the midst of Washington, DC suburbs?

add a long rope so you can pull against the current or at least get pulled to the shore.  We dont wanna hear how you got washed out to sea.

This is between me and the sea.  I don't think I'd make it even with a rope.  Bear in mind this was taken from a distance and that one fall in the foreground is over 20' (>3.5 meters) high.  The river is several hundred yards wide.

I'm hoping to hit the river tomorrow morning for some pre-frontal fishing.  I'll probably wade so that I can get the heck out of there a lot quicker than a boat would permit.  I always wear a life jacket when I wade, but tomorrow morning I'll be especially careful.

It's all in the track.  The barrier islands make all the difference.  If it stays to the outside of the barrier islands, it will likely roll on up the coast and just give us a good flush.  If it gets inside them, then there's a good chance it will come up the Chesapeake Bay and make things right unpleasant for us.

My advice is to ignore the crack until you are certain is makes it sound worse.

I find it strange to be having wicked weather when we don't have a Skype jam scheduled.  Seems like every time we get together, there's a thunderstorm for the ages raging outside.  Now we're expecting a tropical storm to come in from the Southeast and a Canadian cold front coming down from the Northwest, which could lead to a tropical blizzard.  Weird.

My guess is that it will be awful blowy and wet, but that we'll be fine.  If not, we'll pile into the 4x4 and drag the camper across the mountains to West (by God!) Virginia.

Hot dog!  That was probably the most sensible approach to take.  That said, I like our sober and less wild Russell.

Nice.  It inspires me to try something about the mountains too.  Unfortunately, Eddie From Ohio already wrote a song that captures my feelings about the blue ridge.

I like it.  A lot.  It's got an old country feel to it.

I looked at buying a house once that had turned the fall-out shelter into a wine cellar.  We did the put your head between your knees and kiss your butt goodbye drills in school, but by then the Soviets were too busy fighting amongst themselves to allow us to be as much of a threat as they considered us in 1961.  I'm fairly sure that radiation could have gotten past my stamped sheet steel and formica desk anyway.

What frustrates me with the whole Lance Armstrong thing is that he passed all the tests.  What is the point of having tests if passing them is of less value than hearsay?  Further, stripping Lance Armstrong of the titles means they pass to the second best performer, who failed his drug tests.  Maybe that just means that Lance Armstrong is the better cheater, but it's still a frustration to me.

Also, if they're all doping, which is pretty much what the evidence they have against Lance Armstrong shows, then they were on a level playing field.

Edited to correct grammar.

Have you tried the videos from www.justinguitar.com and www.yourguitarsage.com?  If not, give them a try and see whether one or another of their teaching styles works for you.

The federal government involves itself in all manner of things I think they have no cause to be involved in.  I agree with every one of the items you listed.  It's really more a sports post than a political one, but given the nature of the beast it has to be at least a little political.

That said, I'll keep a close eye on it to be sure it stays within the forum rules, as even tangentially political things have a way of getting out of hand near the end of an election cycle.

Happy belated birthday.  May you have many more.

Sheesh.  You wouldn't have thought I'd have forgotten everything in two days.  I had a migraine yesterday and so no coordination and didn't even try.  This morning I went to church and then took the family for a drive in the country to view the foliage change.  We'd normally hike, but my eldest daughter broke her toe on Thursday night (pitching a fit over having to do homework...heh, heh, heh... I suppose I shouldn't laugh but broken digits is the same way I taught myself not to pitch fits).  Anyway, tonight, it doesn't even sound like me playing the darned thing.  Nor singing either.  Go figure.  I think it may be time to put on some jammies and settle in early.

Speaking of unwanted intrusions,Skype came online as I was on Chordie a few minutes ago and tried to sell me online security and a scan of my pc there I was without a shirt and my webcam displayed me in all of my flabby glory needless to say I deleted Skype and that will not occur again this must be my month for BS.

Is that the one where Skype just pops up ringing with an imprtant message or something.  I always decline that one.  Something about emergency maintenance.

I get a periodic message from my anti-virus that it has blocked a questionable link from Skype.  It must be these sorts of things that its blocking because other than the message, I've never had anything like that from Skype.

I use a VISA check card that's tied to an account that I only keep a few hundred bucks in.  If thieves get that number, they're limited to the amount of cash I put in it.  There's no overdraft protection on that account.  If there's no money, the sale is declined.

Very cool.

We should have a get-together soon - right about the time you get that back from getting it set up.
