I re - wrote this song of reflection on America today.

Stand Up, Stand UpTIGLJK 2016

[Em] Profiled victims ,yealives thatmattered

Dreams they hoped for now have been  shattered

[Am]Towns and cities beingtorn apart

While [Em] witnesses suffer from broken hearts

[B7] How manymore people have to die

[Em]another ugly slice of [B7]American [Em]Pie

oh [Em]the crowds are angry and the tension'shigh

Everybody is blaming the other side

[Am] the streets are burning ,goodpeople dying

[Em]Protesters marching and mama’scrying

[B7] Give usjustice, don’t turn a blind eye

[Em]another ugly slice of [B7]American[Em]Pie

Chorus

[Am] stand up, stand up, do what’s right

[Em]Don’t get blinded by media lights

[Am]Stand together, both Black and White

[Em] Stand together, both Leftand Right

[B7] Let your conscience sleep good tonight

[Em]stand up, stand up,and[B7]do what’s [Em]right

[Em]St.Paul,Baton Rouge, Dallas, San Antone

what the hell is going on ?

[Am]Police being shot , battle lines being drawn

Oh[Em]innocent bloodshed goes on and on

[B7]Politicans’ promises,pundit lies

[Em]another ugly slice of [B7]American [Em]Pie

[Em] [Am][Em][B7]

[Em] [B7] [Em]

[Em]We got vets coming home to sad neglect,

while the national anthem gets disrespect

[Am] too many people just standing by

while [Em] drugs are taking our children's lives

[B7]fix it today or kiss our assesgoodbye

[Em]another ugly slice of [B7]American [Em]Pie

Chorus

[Am] stand up, stand up, do what’s right

[Em]Don’t get blinded by media lights

[Am]Stand together, both Black and White

[Em] Stand together, both LeftandRight

[B7] Let your conscience sleep good tonight

[Em]stand up, stand up,and[B7]do what’s [Em]right

[B7]stand up, stand up,and do what’s [Em]right

[B7]stand up, stand up,and do what’s [Em]right

[B7]stand up, stand up,and do what’s [Em]right

Badeye,

Great choice of JB Hutto !!

That was excellent.  As I watched that i could not help but think of what physical shape drummers have to be in to perform like that .  It must be unbelievable to do an entire concert ( like 3 hours)      and actually the guitarists as well.
They were just having so much fun performing that !!!  Something I have always wished I could've done.

Just keep these great videos coming - I look forward to them every week !!

With Jordy back..... IF and a big if.... they can stay healthy = I think they could be in NFC title game.

Ok
Here is my version of Dylan's Knocking on Heaven's Door
I added a verse that I wrote b/c I thought there was more to the song than just getting old and not being able to draw fast anymore.
Hope you like it.  https://soundcloud.com/tigljk/knocking- … door-cover

Badeye,
That was very good.

What I enjoy most about your finds is that along side are links to lots of others that I would never find by myself.

Everybody - check this one out that I found after watching Little Milton.........
What an all star collection !!  Holy crap would I have loved to been at that concert.
It includes Phil Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert King, Paul Butterfield, BB King, Eric Clapton, Dr. John, and a host of special guest singers
It's worth the watch...  thanks for the opportunity Badeye to find this! smile

I love it... it's the best music when musicians are just starting out...everything is from the heart and not for money.
Thanks for sharing Amy, I enjoyed it immensely !  I swear - if I was really good, I would go around and play for people for free just for fun.

Ok - here is my version of Six Strings Down.
With apologies for my playing and singing.... but it is such a great song.

if I can do this any of you can ! smile  Have fun!

I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining, I was just messing around with it and came up with that verse.  I don't even play it very well yet but it is one of my favs to listen to.  Hope everyone has fun with these songs

Ok...
Since no one has taken the bait for the song I chose, I'm adding another verse to end it !
I thought maybe if it was more personal, it would attract a player or two. smile
I tried to fit as many in as I could, please don't be offended if you got left out - I left myself out too! smile
here's the additional lyric.....

[G] Amy,  Phill , and Roger   [C] Joey , Dino too

That's a way cool instrument there Graham - you play it so well.
Steve Earle and his son Justin Townes Earle are two of my favorite performers. Copperhead road is truly a classic.
Very nicely done.
