I also thought as I was reading that it was about a song or even some bad reaction from Chordie. Glad it's not for the negative part. All your songs are of a very high standard and this one is no exception. Great work.

Welcome to Chordie. We get a lot of songs about birds on here, not so many about the feathered variety. Nice song well constructed. Have a read of the sticky at the top to see how to work the chopro programming. There's plenty of help from members if you get stuck too.

Thanks for you replies, I don't have the faintest where they come from, all I can say is when a line comes into my head I write it down till another line may interact with it, then another etc till nothing else comes to mind.
As for the chords if I have a tune in my head I'll find the notes then search for the corresponding chord.
I was rather surprised myself when C diminished and F# dim turned out to be the same, not being that deep into the tech of music. I actually play the C dim on the 8th frett and C dim as the window shows.
I must admit it took a swerve from where I thought it was heading too. I don't start songs with a plan so they go where they will.
i will record it hopefully in the next week or so, it's in waltz time if you'd like to try it. isnt it funny how songs start out as one thing and end-up as another. i wrote the first verse last week and the rest tonight. they werent meant to be one song but hey ho. i'd like to put a bridge in somewhere. maybe tomorrow?
isnt it just typical? i have a gig tomorrow afternoon so i was resting my throat tonight when a song arrived with some not so easy high notes. so i thought i'd share.

yes we call it a bum and a few other names i wont mention here. it happened in benidorm, spain in a pub where a couple of english guys were playing every night, mainly rock music which is why i knew they played every night

Thanks for the great comments. The "girl" in the PIC was actually a 60year old woman who later beat up her husband. I took the PIC in benidorm 2 years ago. She was great fun up to that point.
well done nice song and melody. i agree wholeheartedly with the first two verses as i worked in a factory for 20 years doing 12 hour shifts and gigging at weekends. when i started my kids were babies then one day i woke-up and they were taller than me with kids of their own. sad but true. and again great song.

you aint met my MIL(stone) which you should be thankful for, she passed on last year and she used to be the life and soul of any gathering till alzheimer's set in. before that she would do anything for a laugh, but such a pain in the car, she'd actually cross everything, legs, fingers, eyes everything and she'd be praying all the time and i'm the safest driver i know...honest. my FIL (father in law) was a cornet player and after he retired he bought an organ and taught himself to play it to entertain the crumblies at the local old folks home, sadly, he's no longer with us either.

Hey Phill i see our song`sad clown` doing great on Soundcloud.Ringo is a good drummer if you go and look at the concert for Bangladesh you will see he is very good as they show him playing with another drummer. I do think Ringo was the one too do the solo.

in actual fact i'm still trundling along on W7...! but by the sounds of it, i'm glad i missed 8 & 8.1. my daughter is using 8 on her LT and i have to show her how to do a lot of stuff... and i'm old and close to decrepit! no joke, though her kids (11 & 12) are really hot. anyway thanks for the heads up...much appreciated.

there have been lots of beatles conspiracies, not least the one about the replacement paul. mine i think is nearer the realm of reality.
it concerns the drum solo on abbey road... i just cant believe it's ringo playing it. there are so many reports by the other beatles that paul would hang around after sessions and re-do ringo's drum parts. they all agree that ringo plays a mean "rock steady" beat, but never a mention of a drum solo. george martin commented that if ringo put in a drum fill he would half the beat!
paul plays drums on many of his solo records, especially when wings were left in the lurch on the band on the run album. mccartney is an accomplished drummer. therefore i submit that it is paul not ringo that plays the solo on "carry that wieght". what do you think?

when i was offered W10 they said we get it in the UK on July 31, you guys in the US probably get it sooner. i for one would appreciate any first thoughts you may have before i instal it.

having just joined this thread i want to go back to the yes and chris squire post. it was soooo gratifying to see the young members of the orchestra enjoying and rocking along with the band. i hadn't actually seen this concert before so a big thanks to TF. as a FYI, the only time i saw yes live was at cardiff on the topographic tour. and when my marriage finally gave-up the ghost topographic was the only yes album i left behind for the b...sorry ex. i still haven't replaced it as i think the live renditions are better.
