Ditto what TF said!
What if you only did the last friday of the month ? Less time, same thrill for all of us ?

Excellent Man ! Really had that southern Louisiana feel to it.
Lots of talented dudes and dudettes on here - you're one of them!

I know you're being serious and all, but I can't resist.
Maybe you should include this little sing along and ask your wife if it's okay to do this one. ![]()

In reality - I only knew three of those songs. I think you should include some Eric Clapton , it's well known and you nail Clapton every time!
The other one that I would suggest is Van Morrison's Have I told you lately... I think that would be a perfect night ending song for your set...and your voice is perfect for it.

But then again, I'm not musician - what the hell do I know?
Good luck Graham
Jim
Thanks Jan
Here's a quick recording of my version I posted on soundcloud. Hope you like it.

Once again, your playing and singing is top notch !!!
That is a great song.
I did a little research on it as I had always thought it was a grateful Dead song - boy was I wrong.
That has been made famous by some great artists including Eric Burdon, Louis Armstrong , Van Morrison, Lou Rawls, Joe Cocker, Doc Watson, Arlo Guthrie, Tom jones, Harry Connick, Duke Ellington, and lst but not least - Cab Calloway in the 19333 Movie Betty Boop ! (And lot's of others!)
I was amazed on how many different ways this was played, and how many subtle differences in the lyrics there are.
St. James Infirmary - cited to be located right there in London and Piccadilly !! ![]()
Graham - Really enjoyed your cover - it was fantastic.
I would love to be able to come to one of your live performances someday, but I guess I'll just have to settle for your posts and videos.
Thanks for sharing.
Jim
That was awesome- way out of my league!
Really loved that style.
Way to go BGD!
That was exquisite! Beautiful rendition.
Jim
TF
They are so freaking good , it's crazy !
They played it effortlessly, and made the song have such a feel good aura about it.
I''d quit my job tomorrow if i could play like that.
Thanks for sharing

{t: TOO YOUNG TO DIE THIS OLD }
{C:Blame this one on Russell !
He posted his awesome cover of too old to die young from the Django unchained movie.
I must have listened to it 50 times - it is soooooo good!!
Well then I went for a walk and was listening to it on my MP3 player and thought to myself --- if I turn the title around a bit - I think there's a song in there somewhere ! That was a few days ago. This morning I woke up at 5 am and thought about that revised wording of the title and this is what popped into my brain.... about a young alcoholic.
( Don't ask why - it just did !
)
Hope you like it . }
Too Young To Die All Alone
intro
[Em] All alone, I'm all alone,
[Am] All alone, all alone,
[B7] All alone, I'm all alone
gonna [Em]die forgotten , all alone
[Em]Ignored the warnings that I was given
Always, [Am]took the road of easy livin’
though I [B7] knew it was a dead end
and [Em] alcohol was my only friend
[Em] [Am] [B7] [Em]
[Em] family members seem to disappear
I [Am] drowned one more with every beer
[B7]No longer welcomed in my own home
I’m, [Em] bitter, broke, and all alone
[Em] [Am] [B7] [Em]
CHORUS
[Am]When did my life turn into this awful dream
[Em]How did I fall for the devil’s scheme
[AM]Why’d I let my heart turn so damn cold
[B7]I’m way too young to be this [Em]old
I’m [B7] way too young to die all [Em]alone
[Em]Time passes now , slower and slower
my [Am]mirror shows me older and older
[B7] good times are a thing of the past
I [Em]wonder if today is my last
CHORUS
[Am]When did my life turn into this awful dream
[Em]How did I fall for the devil’s scheme
[AM]Why’d I let my heart turn so damn cold
[B7]I’m way too young to be this [Em]old
I’m [B7] way too young to die all [Em]alone
I’m [B7] way too young to die all [Em]alone
I’m [B7] way too young to die all [Em]alone

Good one man!
I left you a comment on soundcloud.
Nice comment on society - "As The World Turns" !

Wow! Just Wow!
You have the same voicing abilities of Bobbie Gentry..... If someone said this was an early version performed by Gentry, I would have believed it 100%!
I would love to do a cover, but I am not a musician, - can't sing, barely play. However, I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO LISTENING TO ALL THE VERSIONS OF THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE TALENTED PERFORMERS!!!!
Go for it Guys & Gals - I think this is a really cool idea.
Jim
Good playing - most impressed they kept a straight face till the end ![]()
Finally had time to make the video.
Thank you so much too Scott, Amy, and Phill for their covers - each beautifully done in my humble opinion !
You have incredible talent like so many others on here.

hope you like it. Emma from the commercial is the last picture !

Yes, absolutely = one and the same.

here it is on chordify - happy playing ![]()
Wow the two of you - those beautiful voices together --- that would make some fantastic recording of any song !
Go for it girls !!!
Russell
That is way up at the top man!!
Quite a performance. I never saw the movie, but you're rendition is awesome.
You've got to put more performances out there buddy - you are very talented!!
Thanks for Sharing
Jim
Ok - I found it - kind of...
go to this link.... it's on chordify
but the catch is there are two songs... You gotta get through Mr. Muggles to get to Eric's song. It starts on a G chord click on it and it starts to play. Then you can see the chords.
Hope this helps
https://chordify.net/chords/alan-price- … mepictures
once you get there - scroll down a bit and there will be a G with a D under neath it ( it's in the third column)
That's when Burdon Song starts... it shows the keys as he play s and sings it.
Jim
wow-- really nice
I agree !
My mom's gone (died at the age of 82) My mother was 42, her husband {my father} was burned to death in an accident ( I was 8 months old), no job, and 10 kids on a farm. How the hell she managed - I do not know!
My wife is mom to my three daughters... and she has earned every honor that goes with " Happy Mothers Day" ....trust me.
I wish a Happy Mothers Day to all of the Mom's out there. You all deserve medals or a million dollars or something! ![]()
If you had a kid half as hard as I was to raise - God Bless You!
Love to you all on this day and always!
JIM
Wow.... Bill...
When I re-read this after you and Mojo commented.... I could read into this to be an air force pilot or serviceman on a mission....
that had never crossed my mind.
Mojo are you a pilot ? or in Air Force?
Jim
P.S.
Phill - see what you started with your poem : )
Bill thanks
Nah -I'm no where's near good enough to pat myself on the back. I just like to write.
I don't why, but stuff just pops in my head when I think about things that are happening around me.
I actually had the chords to this before the lyrics - which is a complete turn around for me.
Here is the soundcloud link to my version. https://soundcloud.com/tigljk/me-and-you-2016-jk
As per usual, my voice is not that of a singer and my guitar skills need plenty of improvement.
Hope it doesn't hurt anyone's ears
but at least you can tell what it's supposed to sound like.
I find it so therapeutic to just play a little , think a little and rhyme a little.
Hope all is well with you and Dondra Bill!!
Jim
[Song]
{t: Me and You }
{C; I was thinking about Scott and BGD moving and the challenges of picking up moving a family, and then realized there are also many more challenges as well, even having the courage to step out of the shadows and do something you've never done before ( happens all the time here on Chordie). It would be so difficult to do without support - so I put this little song together. Hope you like it! }
[C] [Em] [Am] [G]
[C] Well it seems we’re about to find out [Em] what it’s like to be
[Am] going out in this crazy world like [G] two ships on a rugged sea
[C] after years of having all of the [Em]safe comforts of our home, it’s,
[Am] time now to turn the pages n' [G]move our lives along
[C] [Em] [Am] [G]
[C] I know it sounds a little scary and we’’ve [Em] got some thing’s to figure out
[Am] got a few questions on our minds and a[G] closet full of doubt
[F] but it’s now or never, baby it’s [C] time to make our move
[F] I know that we can do this honey, just as[G] long as it’s me and you
Chorus
[C]Together, we can do anything, [Am]no mountain we can’t climb
[F] no challenge can bring us down, if I [G]have you by my side
[C] I can’t think of anything now , [Em] that we couldn’t do
[F]Nothing can stop us baby, as [G]long as I'm with you
Repeat chorus (with an added C chord in last line)
[C]Together, we can do anything, [Am]no mountain we can’t climb
[F] no challenge can bring us down, if I [G]have you by my side
[C] I can’t think of anything now , [Em] that we couldn’t do
[F]Nothing can stop us baby, as [G]long as I'm with [C] you
fade.....
[F]Nothing can stop us baby, as [G]long as it’s me and[C] you
[F]Nothing can stop us baby, as [G]long as it’s me and[C] you
(Slower)
[F]Nothing can stop us baby, as [G]long as it’s me and[C] you
[/song]
I would call it
Ruthless, all alone ( get my friends on the phone!)
Go for it Bill !!!
