It seems your kitchen must be a hoppin place. Wish I could play well enough to get there ! smile

Thanks for sharing.

AH PHILL - THE LAST LINE IS THE BEST .....   MAJORCA - TIME GOES TOO FAST I'M SURE !
Always best when it's filled with children, or even grandchildren I think.
Vacations with just the wife are fine - very nice, but it's the kids to me that make them so memorable.

lastly, vacations are such a necessary part of life, and we all have ore special places we like ( or would like) to go.... but in the end.....  somehow it does always seem to feel real good to get back home.
Thanks for the poem Phill.... made me stop and reflect on many great memories.

Daryl - welcome to the best place for getting help from the friendliest people on the planet.
I am sure Scott has sent you to the right place. and I am sure he is an excellent mentor  for learning guitar.... after all - he is "the Metalizer"  and he has covered a couple of my songs really nicely and very cool!
Just like the three words that are the most important words in real estate are " Location,Location, Location"  the three words for guitar playing are " practice, practice, practice"
With that being said however, as a sports coach of over 30 years,  practice is only beneficial if you are practicing correctly and improving.  Make sure you get the right techniques to practice, because practicing the guitar the wrong way just reinforces bad guitar playing.   There are loads of guys and a few gals here that are terrific musicians that you can learn a great deal from... I'm not one of them, I just like to write songs:)
Anyway... welcome to the Chordie family.

I agree with K.I.R, it sounds like there's some anger in there.  When you get people to agree on the message of your lyric, I think you can say mission accomplished!  Well done.

EB

How ironic

Last night after I got back from a softball game I drove up to Stewart's Convenience store to get Ice cream for the girl's on my team.  I had to wait for this guy in front of me at the cash register, who was having his tickets checked to see if they were winners. He is a good guy, I know him well (in fact a former student of mine) has a great little family and he works hard as a welder.  But I am not exaggerating, he must have had them check hundreds of dollars worth of tickets and scratch off.s  It took almost 12 minutes for the girl to scan them all. In the end- he won 9 dollars- and what did he do ?  Didn't take cash but more tickets.

What also amazes me is when its the power ball at 150 million....people come out of the wood work to buy tickets.  Like if they won the weekly one at 15 million it wouldn't be worth buying a ticket but for 150 million its a bargain ! smile

Nice poem EB, I enjoyed it!!

Holy Crap Badeye - that was awesome.

Love how they fed off each other and especially the end playing from the underside of the guitar.

I sure wish I could play 10% of that.  Very gifted.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you everyone for your kind words and to Scott, Amy and Phill ( which will be posted as well soon) who all did beautiful covers, each in their own way - and all so very cool.

This is a link to the TV commercial I watched the night before I wrote this song, and what I was thinking of as I wrote it.

Angels are just people sometimes I believe.

Robert Plant was one of those vocalists that I was referring to in some other thread on here. That " special voice" that is instantly recognized.

Add that to the incredible musical abilities of the others in LZ and it's no wonder they were so great !
Thanks for the reminder TF!
Jim

Stairway is still my favorite song of theirs however.

Happy Anniversary Roger of the celebration of your 29th Birthday !

Amy

You were wonderful - it' was like I was listening to Jewel or Joan Baez.
Why you don't post like a million songs is beyond me - you are a wickedly ( in a good way)  gifted singer !
Thanks for the cover.

hope you like it!

Scott

Very nice !
Last ending you added.... a little hard to catch the words...
but I think it was
"so close your eyes, everything will be alright,    there's angels in the room"

It fit nicely.
Thanks for the cover !
It did have that Pink Floyd feel - very unique. smile

Good one!

Ain't it the truth !!???

Liked your emotion at the end --  I get pissed off too at the young whipper snappers that think they know everything.

Reminds of the young bull and the old bull  smile   ( Some of you will get that one)

Thanks for sharing.

Amy-

Must 've been angels in the room - I was sooo hoping you were going to do that.
Cant wait to hear you sing it.

Unclejoe  ( Ialways think of the show petticoat junction when I see your name smile )

it's posted under my local band and me - but here it is https://soundcloud.com/tigljk/once-in-a … rl-2016-jk

Thank you AMY !!! smile

I guess you would have to believe in Angels and Miracles for this song to make sense.
I couldn't help but think as I wrote this, of parents with afflicted children, or Bill and Dondra in the hospital all those days - and how  lives  get tested every day.
Hope you like it.

here is the soundcloud link to it.  https://soundcloud.com/tigljk/angels-in-your-room-jk

[Song]
{t: Angels In Your Room}

[G]There’s angels in the [C]room , do you know [G]why
[G] Seems  they’re here [C] watching over [D] me
[G]There’s angels in the [C]room , so I won’t   [G]cry
[G]  keep’in me from what [D7]only they can[G] see

[G]There’s angels in the [C]room , oh can’t you [G]feel ’em
[G]There’s one  sitting [C]   right here  on my [D]bed
[G]There’s angels in the [C]room , can’t you [G] see’em
[G]There’s one with his[D7] hand upon my [G]head

Chorus
[C]Sometimes in life you need  help to get you [G] through
With [C] faith and love  tested like never be [G]fore
When [C]hope and trust  are replaced by gloom and [G]doom
[G]That’s when you’ll find those[D7] angels in your[G] room
[G]That’s when you’ll see those[D7] angels in your[G] room
[G]That’s when you’ll feel those[D7] angels in your[G] room

[G]There’s angels in the [C]room ,  they never go [G]away
[G] singing  songs  that [C]make me feel  at  [D] home
[G]There’s angels in the [C]room , so I’m not  [G]afraid
[G]They touch my heart so I’m [D7]never, ever  a[G]lone.

OMG

He must practice 23 hours a day. SSS and eat for 45 Mins  then record this for 15 mins.

Absolutely brilliant. I would need four hands two assistants, and a time machine to accomplish this.
What a superb musician.
He plays sweet child of mine as well - in which he plays two guitars - not an amazing feat - except of course UNLESS YOU'RE PLAYING THEM AT THE SAME TIME!
here's the link to it  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ok5d8nXAngw

I feel exhilarated and inspired after watching this, but also  depressed at the same time knowing that he can do that and I can't come remotely close.
I don't think it would matter what guitar he brings to a campfire - he can make a $15.00 guitar sing !

Thank you for sharing this TF - it was awesome!

Where are the truss rods located on Bread machines ?  smile

Congrats on the guitar JJJ !!
