Bill Wrote this song regarding how hard it is sometimes to overcome self doubt.
Phill recorded it, and I put it to video.
Hope you like it.

Good one Badeye
I think you should wear an outfit like his to your jam tonight - chance to make a statement with your fellow players! ![]()
Nela
I respectfully disagree.
the Beatles had a unique grouping of talented musicians. John Lennon was brilliant, not only as a singer performer, but as a creative composer and lyricist. He took on many topics and addressed them ,as well the usual loves songs etc. McCartney was also accomplished as a musician and had a voice that was terrific. They were balanced by Harrison's quiet but effective contributions. When you combined them it was really a very special sound. Elvis - as well - it wasn't just about women. He had a voice that was golden! No matter where you were ( or even where you are today) there wasn't a need for any announcer to say who was singing - every person with a pulse knew Elvis's voice.
CCR - John Fogerty in same boat - unique voice, extraoardinary ability to sing and take on social issues. Again - no announcer need for CCR.
There are many great bands today - I agree with you on this NELA...... but they lack that something special - that sets them apart from the others, which I believe puts the Beatles, Hank, Elvis in the category of " it wouldn't matter what year you heard them, it would still be uniquely awesome" .
Just my opinion:)
Jim
Jeff Healy is awesome.
This is a great performance. I also like his " Angel Eyes" song very much.
Thanks
Badeye!!
Jan and Peat
Thank you for your kind words.
Jim
Ok here is the soundcloud link
I'm sorry I am a shitty singer bc I think this is a really cute song.
It sounds so good in my head, but not so god when I hear the playback version.
Oh well, it's why I appreciate those of you who have such talent
Amy
To tell the truth...she is really good, but I actually enjoyed some of your renditions of several songs more
especially your Delta Dawn song !
Jim
Phill
That is a " kick ass" song man !
That should be on the radio !
Each time I listen to it, I want to write a new response.
It is of the highest caliber... I hope your sing that when you perform in public..... it will rock the house !!
Awesome my friend!
Jim
Phill
This is just excellent!
Well done my friend!
Jim
Scott
That was really cool. It amazes me how someone can take a song and play it so different from someone else- a completely different genre and approach to the same lyric.
I could never play guitar as you did, so I appreciate the " metalized version" - so cool. I agree with Graham - I hear a little Lou Reed in there - but I don't know who iggy pop is so I can't comment on that.
I liked the picture you put with it on soundcloud too - fits perfectly.
Thanks again my friend !
Jim
Phill or Bill
Can you please send me the lyrics.
Thanks
jim
Kim
very nice playing
You have a beautiful voice.
Jim
Great stories gentleman ! I wish I had the talent to perform.
I enjoyed your stories immensely. EAsybeat I can feel your pain.... I gave my wife 5 coupons for Christmas, each one good for " stop playing and singing for the evening!"
[Song]
{t:Once In A Lifetime Girl}
{c: Story about falling In Love with that special girl. Kind of an old time 60's rock n roll beat. The chorus changes as the relationship changes - I hope that's ok?}
[G]Once I met a [Em]girl as[C] cute as can [D]be
[G] She’d come around [Em]just to [C] flirt with [D]me
her [G] smile , her[Em] laughter an’ those [C]loving [D]arms
[Am]Sure was hard to [D7] resist all her charms OHHH
(Chorus)
[C] she’d come around , that girl of my dreams
[G] batting her eyes , as she walked by me
she’d [C] flash her smile with lips divine
I just [Am]couldn’t wait till [D7] they’d meet mine
[G]So we got to[Em]gether and we [C]started to[D] date
[G]I knew right a[Em]way it was[C] more than [D]fate
[G]She’s the only [Em} one I [C]thought a[D]bout, I’d
[Am] fallen in love and there [D7] was no doubt OHHH
(Chorus)
[C] here she comes now , the girl of my dreams
[G] batting her eyes , an’ smiling at me
[C] here she comes now with her lips divine
her [Am]kiss is like heaven [D7] every time
[G]Now we’re to[Em]gether every[C] single[D] day
[G]She’s all my [Em] hopes in [C]every [D] way
[G] love the way she [Em] makes my [C]achin’ heart [D]smile
[Am]Everything she does makes my [D7]life worthwhile
OOOHH
(Chorus)
[C] there she is now , girl of my dreams
still [G]batting her eyes , smiling at me
[C] there she is now with those lips divine
I’ll be [Am] loving her for the [D7]rest of my life
[G] she can make me[Em] smile for no [C]reason at[D] all , And
[G] she picks me [Em] up if I [C]happen to [D] fall
[G]She’s every [Em] thing I [C] need in in this [D]world
[Am] I love my once in a [D7] lifetime girl
Ohhh
(Chorus)
[C]Here she is now, still holding my hand
[G]Here she is now , loving this man
[C]Here she is now with those lips divine
[Am]I’m so happy that[D7]she’s mine all mine
[G] she can make me[Em] smile for no [C]reason at[D] all
And[G] she picks me [Em] up if I [C]happen to [D] fall
[G]She’s every [Em] thing I [C] need in in this [D]world
[Am] I love my once in a [D7] lifetime [G]girl
[Am] I love my once in a [D7] lifetime [G]girl
l
[Am] I love my once in a [D7] lifetime [G]girl
Slow.... it’s [Am] why I love my[C] once in a [D7] lifetime [G] girl
(Fade)
Slow.... it’s [Am] why I love my[C] once in a [D7] lifetime [G[ girl
(Fade)

Graham
That was awesome man !!
Great rendition - love the resonator sound.
and ditto = that was awfully nice of you ! We all owe you a lot for all the kindness you shown to us in a variety of ways !
Thanks for sharing
Jim
They were fantastic !
Jerry Reed was a wild one for sure, and Glenn was awesome.
Thanks for sharing.
fantastic choice !!! JLH is one the greatest of all times... innovator and trend setter.
What a great way to start the weekend !
THANKS Badeye !
Yep he was only 29 had 35 singles mostly hits
His down fall - alcohol and prescription drugs - pretty much the same nemesis of many stars today !
Died of a heart attack - exasperated by the pills and booze - such a shame, such a waste of a talented life
I do like his songs though - he was very creative.
Good one Bill !
Reminds me a bit of a mix between the Central Scrutinizer from Joe's Garage and the I, Robot movie.
Still giggling about the " OH, God! " part. very clever of you!!
Great to have you back man !! Glad Dondra is getting healthier and back to being herself.
Lastly, thanks for all your kind words of encouragement.
Jim
Thank You
TF
Phenomenal playing.
I cannot fathom how many hours of practice that was required for that performance..
I don’t even know how he remembers all of the movements and notes, never mind the flawless execution
I sure wish I could make my 12er sound like that!
Thanks for the magnificent beginning to flying fingers, it was awesome!
Jim
Here is my version of this song.
I'm not a singer and barely a player - but I like the story. Hope you like it.
