How about that?  Really terrific stuff!

What makes you think we can dino48?  We just do.  Well, Amy sure can.

I am unable to join today as I am helping my daughter with a school project.  If we finish it, I'll see if anyone is still playing.

It doesn't hurt my feelings because I never thought Guy Clark wrote If I Had a Boat in the first place.  So, come on out of the corner.  Now, I just have to go find my favorite hat before we play again (if my wife hasn't found an excuse to throw it out yet).

If it's a hard shell case in good shape, that's worth about $100 alone.

Well I dropped in when I got a chance and it was fun.  Thanks Jeff for sponsoring.  I'm not sure when the next one will be, but I'll again do my best to be on.  I am having so much fun with these that I'm considering buying a Premium Skype account so that we can video conference any time.

Yamaha has always made guitars from entry level through advanced.  An F325 would be worth about $50 used.

I may be able to join the call after about 3:00 U.S. Eastern.  I'll take a look at the listings on my end and try to join when/if I can.  It'll only be for a little bit, but I would hate, hate, hate to miss out entirely.  Just too much fun!

I'll let you know after I break it to mine that I want to buy Dirty Ed's Breedlove.

That was fun.  I really need my coffee this morning.  Wayne was everything I expected - even telling me that I'd go to Hell if I didn't wear a hat when I played.  Fortunately I had one handy.  D.S. was a nice surprise, though the technology got in our way a bit.  He's just up the road a piece from me in Virginia, so maybe we'll be able to do it live some time.

I'm looking forward to Saturday and hoping to make it.

Thanks Chris.  It is a great deal, but I wasn't about to toss a friend under the bus over a guitar.  Now I have to break it to my wife that I want it.

If Chris doesn't take it, I may be interested.  I need a guitar that sounds good but that I'm willing to take to a campfire.  I'll not pull it out from under Pix though.

That's a good tradition.

Alrighty then!  Congratulations.  I don't know that model, but I've enjoyed every Washburn I've plucked, so good for you.

I'm looking really forward to this evening.  It'll be great to meet Wayne too.  I've been working on some Johnny Cash at Topdown's request.  He asked for Johnny Cash and I did a song from his American Recordings and I don't think it was what he was looking for.  So I've got a couple from the Sun years and another from Columbia years.

Going to make best efforts to be on for Saturday.  Thursday will be iffy for me, but I'm going to try to make that too.  I'm behind at work some and may need to work late.

I'll try and make the Saturday and I'll be in touch with you about Thursday evening.  (By the by Roger, it's midnight your time, not 2:00AM - I'm sure it would run till 2:00AM)

Jx3, Let's do a quick session one-on-one this evening to get you warmed up.  Just try and catch me on-line.

I've got a video camera I don't use much, and a small tripod for it.

Skype allows you to configure which mic you're using.  I will continue to use my Samson C01U USB mic for calls, but I'd like a different camera.  The one built into my laptop does not allow me to zoom or pan or anything fun like that.

I sent you a connection request Triple J.

There's not much pressure underneath.  It's just that the finger was smashed pretty good.  The swelling has gone down a lot today - which probably has to do with the Jamaican pain killer I was using during the jam and the long periods of icing it afterwards, plus elevation the whole time I wasn't playing and all night afterwards.  It's bending some today and I can tell that once more swelling goes down that I'll be able to bend it at all three joints.  It's a very ugly gray/purple color on the last two sections of finger (tip and middle).  Either I did some nerve damage or the nail is going to come off because I've never felt anything like this before.  Very dull sort of feeling almost like I've got a plastic finger on over my finger and I'm feeling taps and such through it.  Very strange.  So long as the long term prospects after healing is that I'll still be finger picking, I'm OK with that.  And if it wasn't that, I'd figure out a way to make it work anyway.   I no longer think I broke it.  As the swelling has reduced, I don't feel a break at all.  Breaks in fingers have a pretty distinctive feel.

Do fingernails grow back if they fall off after an injury?  The nail on my injured finger is feeling funny and I expect I'm going to lose it.

In all, the technology worked VERY well.  How crazy is it that I can sit in a basement in Virginia's Piedmont and watch and listen to a guy playing a guitar and singing in the middle of a caravan sitting in a field in Portugal?  Jules Verne would really dig it.

1. Skype accounts are free, but at least one person on the call has to have a premium account to use video in conference calls.
2. It's easier to add people to a call than to get them all at once using a "group".
3. It's extremely easy to encourage consumption of adult beverages.  All it takes is clinking ice cubes near the microphone or holding a beer bottle up to the camera.
4. It works better if folks who are not playing at the moment mute their mics.  Remember to un-mute to clap or comment.
5. Time goes fast.
6. Once on the call, someone who drops off can rejoin easily if the call is still going.
