Ebay Jim fifty English pounds and only 15 miles away.
I have modern transistor amps but this seems to bring tones out which my Roland and my Line 6 don't.
Fal were a budget manufacturer in the UK back in the 60s.The Kestrel is about the same size as a Vox AC30 but no where near as heavy .Its obviously no where near as loud as a valve amp but seems loud enough to get over the drummers level .I had a Fal 50 head and and separate cabs as my main rig for a long time but sold it along with most of my gear when we returned to the UK from living in Greece and it also sounded great and responded well to pedals so I have high expectations for this , I plan to put a vid of it on You Tube asap which I will of course link here

I picked up an old 70s amp yesterday at a bargain price.A Fal Kestrel 100 watt combo. Two channels with reverb.Even though this is a transistor amp the sound is great and just what I'm looking for for the 60s stuff I'm doing at the moment. I'll post a you tube vid when I can do you can all here it.

Topic: Ibanez Talman acoustic on ebay (0 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I picked one of these up today from an ebay dealer https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234187262395 … SwxA5hQGxK Ibanez Talman acoustic 89 pounds a bargain .Listed as used with some paint defects . Mine was brand new and boxed when it arrived the only fault was a small amount of black over spray on white binding on the inside of the lower horn , no big deal and almost unnoticeable .
Hows it play? well I had to lower the action a little to suit my taste and the strings are 11s so I will change those for 10s .Unplugged its quite loud so it should be good for the local folk nights , plugged in a little bassy but I think once I change to my usual Martin strings it will sound fine .
The seller seems to have a few available so check it out and grab a bargain these usually retail at about 169-180 pounds .

I keep a pad and pen by the bed and sometimes an idea pops into my head I write these ideas down and come back to them later ,quite often something materialises. Another method a writer friend told me about was to put random words in a had and pull a few out and see what comes up .This method works well and generates some interesting things .

Just picked up a nearly mint condition Ks acoustic for very little money ,Any info on this would be great its a model KC 225 small body , full scale length with a zero fret has a made in GDR sticker on the back of the head stock .So I expect it dates from late 50s early 60s. The only other Ks guitar I've owned I bought new in the early 80s it was an electric .

Re: Song: Another Chance (10 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Been a bit busy this last week or so but I managed to pick my guitar up tonight and play this song through . As I said in my earlier post top class country blues ,definitely one I would slip into the set if I were still playing with GB Blues band or doing my country and western set in uk clubs . I'll try and do a quick recording of it but I'm getting ready for a festival at the start of July and I'm still rehearsing the set .

Topic: Difficulty with drummers (0 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Since returning to live in the UK nearly 6 yrs ago now the biggest problem I've had with my music is finding a drummer for live gigs . Over in Greece I was able to find many wanting to play but here in the UK it seems to be a problem lots of bands have . For recording I've been able to use drum machines or loops but its not the same . Most of my gigs these are solo performances ,Just wondered how you guys think , Is there a decline in the amount of available drummers or not .

Sorry about the voice but its a bit rough at the moment .
Garcias Glasses
Em G D
And we saw the world through Garcias glasses
Em C D
And heard the sound through White Rabbit ears
Em G D
And our clothes were made of rags and tatters
Em C D
And our hearts were full of joy and tears
Em G D
As we ride on that last train to Clarksville
Em C D
Or maybe its the Marakesh express
Em G D
Then we'll drink just one more cup of coffee
Em C D
cos theres no one left here to impress
A Em
And we know ther'll always be tommorrow
A Em
as we ride our horses to the sun
A Em
cos we are the children of the future
C- D Em
and we are ….. the chosen ones
Em G D
And we might stay a while at Hotel Yorba
Em C D
But someday we'll have to move away
Em G D
Then we'll take that short walk on the wild side
Em C D
Before we sit with Otis on the bay
Em G D
And I'll wear my cape made out of sack cloth
Em C D
As I try my best to fly
Em G D
Like a pilgrim you dont notice passing
Em C D
And I tell you that I aint no nice guy
A Em
And we know ther'll always be tommorrow
A Em
as we ride our horses to the sun
A Em
cos we are the children of the future
C- D Em
and we are ….. the chosen ones
Em G D
And I might say I'll meet you after midnight
Em C D
Down by the Riverside Cafe
Em G D
I might bring you a bouquet of dead flowers
Em C D
If you wear your rasperry beret
Em G D
Then we'll live in splendid isolation
Em C D
Close enough to paradise for me
Em G D
Play our songs and bathe in the green river
Em C D
Hear the wind and know we are stone free
A Em
And we know ther'll always be tommorrow
A Em
as we ride our horses to the sun
A Em
cos we are the children of the future
C- D Em
and we are ….. the chosen ones
