I think I might have hated him, he was awfy whiny. Think i was probably like that when I was his age though, just not on the internet. Think i went about tabbing the alton towers theme tune and silly things like that.

It might also be for muting certain string with your left hand.

Havn't a Clue what its called but the point is that an open D string would sound mince so I let the flabby bit of my finger touch the string lightly and stop it from playing. I do the same with the open high E. Took me ages to get the hang of. Means you can happily strum with your right hand without worrying about hitting wrong notes.

I random wikipedia to find mine. I was really chuffed with Infinite monkey theorem but then i found it was already a band name, and when i found them on myspace, they said that they got there name from random wiki'in. Whats the chances?

Anyway, i found Montes Jura (my bands name) on a map of the moon that i've had since I was little.

For you, wikipedia suggests Bezerédi (sounds a bit gothic now that i think about it) and Palisades.

A while back i tried to suggest Kavka Puzzles to our band but our singer wasn't having it. Dunno why, i like it.

Theres some other nice barre chords that are reachable in drop d, just for a bit of interest:

G|--  Think its a Gsus2, but you can shift it up and down the fretboard to whatever root you want
D|-7  You could play this without drop d but its a bit of a stretch if you've not been playing long.

A Thing to remember is that all your normal chords can't be played in drop d, but you can alter them a bit sometimes to bring them up to the right note.

If you're feeling adventurous, I play this chord in my band. Its a bit awkward but it should give a really thick power chord. Its a C5 (C Power Chord) because the root is the 3rd fret of the A string.
