It is wonderful to have a  talented New Zealand, Wahine of Waiata on chordie as a moderator well done Jandle . Wahine is a Maori word for lady and Waiata (why art ah ) is the Maori word for song.

So are you suggesting something like: Waiata Wahine Moderator?

The One Ring Moderator.
Personal Moderator to Gandalf.
Galadriel's Moderator.

OK I have just listened to everyone else's versions and, out of the now four versions here, I put mine at 27th......

Jan. Wow! It works great with the uke and you have a smashing voice.

Joe. Brill! Great to hear a 'bluesy' version of this song, it works well.

Mojo. Super! Another different take on this song and you did a great job with it.

I enjoyed listening to all three of these versions. Well done to all of you.

Roger

This is a song I do not know very well so I have listened to the original a few times and 'had a go'. The drum and bass are courtesy of Band-in-a-Box but the guitars are me:

Now I will listen to everyone else's versions (and probably wish I had not put mine up).

shouldn't there be a title to go along with the new position????? just plain moderator will never do. of course Jan should have no say so what so ever in this . just saying

The one problem with your idea is that a Moderator is able to change his/her own title. Mind you there is nothing to stop you suggesting one for her, but she has the power to accept or decline. big_smile

Hopefully you will see that there is now a new section: 'FEATURED SONG OF THE MONTH'.

Jandle started this off with a challenge for Members to record a song and post it for comparison of different styles, voices and interpretation. Unclejoesband then suggested that this deserved it's own section and now it is here, - Jandle and Unclejoesband's new baby.

Obviously we wanted Jan involved in it so you will see is now a Moderator there along with Joe and Amy. I hope many of you will participate in suggestions for songs and with submitting recordings. Remember, it is not a competition, it is a comparison, so don't be shy. give it a go.

Lastly I would like to welcome Jan to the team as she is only the second lady to become a Moderator here. (I hope you like pickles Jan lol).

Am I right is assuming that these are all made on one of these new fangled 3D printer I keep hearing about? So everything is 'made to order' and there is no need for stock apart from the basic materials for manufacture.

I have to say I find this new technology fascinating.

Exactly what you should do Bill.

Reporting any violation automatically generates an e-mail to the Moderators of that section and puts an extra header at the top of the Forum page, that only Moderators can see, indicating there are new reports.

Aaaawwwww thanks. I only ever admit to being 28 but I have been that for 41 years big_smile.

I spent the morning with my daughter and her family in Lancashire and the evening with my granddaughter and her boyfriend in Nottingham. I have had a super day.

It appears that the normal default is to filter by the Miscellaneous section so unless a new one is added to that it will not change. Try clicking on a different filter i.e. 'No Category' to see everything or an specific category and se what that brings up.

I really enjoyed listening to this song and he should definitely be encouraged to do more. I could not 'like' or pass comment on Soundcloud as I am not a member there.

I come across this regularly but I have a leather hole punch and I nibble at the edges to ease the hole gently, until it is a nice snug fit.

Good find, I hope she plays well. Happy NGD....

I think that there is some misunderstanding here.

This is not to find an existing guitar that will fit the bill, but to have a custom built 'Chordie' guitar. Custom built to the specifications that are deemed to be the best the input that comes from these discussions.

To me the most important thing is the 'playability' of any guitar. The neck should have a shallow profile so that my small hands can get round it comfortably (I hate a Gibson's chunky neck) and the action should be low. I do not like a large dreadnought size and the mini-jumbo is my ideal size, preferably with a cut-away to get to those top frets. The neck needs to have fret marker dots in the centre and on the edge and, as for timber materials, I am not too concerned as long as it has a rich sound, if I had to make a choice, I would say that a solid spruce top and mahogany sides and back would be fine.

Hooking up with DD for one night sound like an indecent proposal lol

Sadly I will not be there this year. I had a fantastic time with Jim, Amy, Alex, Steph and special little Katie last year and was hoping to meet Joe, Ken (Dirty Ed) and Amy's family again. I am bitterly disappointed but, unless I win the lottery, it is out of the question I'm afraid.

Have a great time with plenty of videos and Skype if possible.

If the 12er is set up correctly I find no difficulty in changing from one to the other. When I am back in the UK it is the 12er I have there that is always in my car. smile

I would call a 'cap' or a 'flat cap'.
