The first link has multiple shots of the instrument itself, the second features cuts off his album.

I know it's a keyboard, but it is played by the striking of strings so it shouldn't be a problem. I'm thinking Arkady might  like this one as well. smile

Thanks!

Bill

PS: The second link may give you a message to "start at the beginning". I tried to fix this, but was unable, so could y'all do that for me, please?

Hey Bill!  I think the second link just has a period at the end and shouldn't.  Try this:  http://wintergatan.bandcamp.com/album/wintergatan

Glad to hear you've found some extra care for Dondra without having to "sell the farm"!  smile  I think about you two all the time!  I honestly haven't had a lot of time to even PICK up my guitar lately, so I don't have anything new for ya.  Here's an oldie for you, in my early days of playing - with my first guitar (5 years ago):  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojAQWnFYS5o  - Funny story about this is, I mess around with this song all the time, have been asked to play it multiple times by Chordians at gatherings, and have NEVER been happy with any version I've managed to come up with.  This recording is the only time I've ever done the song in front of anyone.  Ever.  (yeah, yeah, no one was actually there in front of me, but it's on the YT).  I've never played it "live" at any gathering.  wink

All entered!  smile  They have some really low end guitars that are junk but work in a pinch (have one), and they have some really nice middle of the line and higher end guitars that compare in price and quality to the big name brands.  I wouldn't mind owning a middle or high end Epi!  smile

There's an option there to opt out of their emails when signing up.  Just gotta uncheck the box next to " Sign me up to get the latest from Epiphone "  big_smile  Of course, you can always unsubscribe from the advertisement emails too. I haven't heard of anyone winning either, but SOMEONE has to be winning these guitars; I figure I might as well try.  I understand where you're coming from though NELA.  Sometimes the amount of junk mail I get from various places is enough to make me not enter contests.

Happy NAD!  Independent controls for each line too.  Nice!  smile  I don't know much about tubes or non-tubes, but if tubes were your plan then sounds like a helluva deal!

smile  I'm glad I could help.  Don't be ashamed!  It happens sometimes.  Just the other day I was troubleshooting something myself and totally forgot to double check with a different browser to see if it was browser related or site related.  AND it WAS the browser!  A big ole "duh" to me no that one! smile  Ha ha!  I'm just glad it's working for you again!

Is anyone else having a problem importing a song to your I Pad? I have found a lot of the songs do not import to my device anymore. The import may be there but not active & I am having trouble since the new look update. I use my I Pad mostly without an internet connection, so I have stored songs I do on my I Pad and can access them anywhere without WiFi.
I am trying to get my friend up and running like I use mine. I really love Chordie!

Hi there.  There's a few posts over in the About Chordie Section regarding help with issues such as these.  As this is a really old thread, about something totally different, this isn't really the best place to ask for help on that subject.  I'm going to close this one down, and look forward to helping you out if you still need the help, over in the other section of the forums!  smile

Toots helped make this forum the family feel it has. He  shared some of his family with us. No doubt little Casey has gotten bigger since I last saw his antics on YT while proud grandpa beamed on (no matter if it was a drum or skateboard). I always promised him a big smooch on the cheek when we finally got to meet.  sad I am sorry that didn't happen.  Toots would have no doubt been a welcome addition to any Chordie get together... The stories, the music, the singing, and laughter.  Rest in Peace, friend.  Tomorrow will be a day for listening to some Toots tunes on CD.

Nope, but man... that would be awesome!  Some seriously awesome music and I can only imagine how beautiful the scenery would be!  Visiting Colorado is on my bucket list!  smile

Honestly, the best way to find someone else's songbook is to have them first make sure it's public, and then to send you the link directly (via email or facebook or whatever method of communication you have).  Admin is working on adding in a search feature for songbooks though!  smile

yup, go to that thread UJB sent you to - and actually follow the instructions I just gave for the last guy about clearing cookies... and what to do next if that doesn't work!  smile

You're welcome for the help, but seriously, YOU are the one that fixed it!  big_smile

Hey donaldwilliam!  That sounds more like a possible issue regarding cookies, and we're not talking about the delicious chocolate chips either!  Please close all extra browser tabs and windows, then clear your cookies (here's some info on how to do that: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cookies ), close the browser, and visit again.  You'll no doubt need to sign back in, and give it a try again.

If you're still having issues after that, please use the link I've provided above that starts out "click here to send me your browser info" - and follow the directions given about entering your chordie username and email address, and post back in this thread about the fact that you cleared your cookies, still didn't work, you sent the email, blah blah... and I'll get back to ya!  smile

I don't have anything to add, the guys have said it all!  So, I just wanted to stop by and say HI!  and WELCOME!

Yup Yup!

I have been working on a little project as I read some interesting info that was posted a while back about using Chordie's rendering of chordpro on files that you host yourself.  Unfortunately, I don't have a ton of time, so this is a bit of an issue.  I'm hopeful Per gets it fixed quickly, then I can give up my project!  ha ha!  Or not, cuz it's still a cool idea I have in mind.  Anyway, I'm being all secretive here a little, yes.  Jim - as soon as I find myself a hair more time and get my hairbrained idea fine tuned a bit more (and actually accessible), I'll send you an email to all the stuff I am not saying outright!  big_smile  In fact, you'll be my tester... should you choose to accept the role.

"experts" - I love that you put that in quotes, because while we may have a few actual experts here, the rest of us are just having fun!  smile

I have played a couple Tak's in stores and those that I picked up were not very loud.  They felt funny in my hands too.  I love my Martin, and would not hesitate with a Taylor either.  The taks are just shaped different, so that could be something that takes some getting used to maybe.  Good luck in your search for a decent guitar at a price that won't break the bank!

Hi all!  I just wanted to let you know that I just experimented a little bit and it looks like some changes have been made to the printing.  I found that if you change the VIEW of the song on the website (click the eye, change to "lyrics only" if you don't want chord names to print above lyrics - as an example) - you can also change the font size by clicking the A and choosing small, medium, or large - and THEN print (be sure to choose print preview before printing - then if you end up with a blank page, you can see that it's expected to print blank and can choose NOT to print that page wasting paper on just printing headers and footers) you should be able to print your songs out without the chords displayed as well as with a different font size!

So far, on my end at least, it looks like the chord grids are not an option to remove.  So, those are still going to print on the right hand side. Also, it looks like they're getting cut off. So, I will go ahead and report this.  In the meantime though, go ahead and give my suggestions a try for printing, and let me know how you make out!

??  Um, are you clicking on the feature directly ON the song page to PRINT (you should see a little eye, A, monitor, printer, and magnifying glass - in a row, you'll want to click on that one that looks like a printer - second from the right), or are you trying to print by using a shortcut such as control+P?

Ctrl+P will print the entire page, ads and all.
Using the provided web page option to open up the print dialog box will NOT print ads.

I've installed  the latest version of Java, cleared my cookies, restarted my PC, and still can't access my song books. the confirm message just boots me out every time I try to log in. please help.

Hey Gary, sorry to hear your having issues still.  I'll be happy to take a look at things for you!  You said you can't access your songbooks, and get booted out when trying to log in.  That sounds like you possibly don't have the browser configured to accept cookies.  But, rather than me ask you a bunch of questions and have you answer and go back and forth, let's make this easier!  smile

I'll ask you to go ahead and follow the same directions I had given to the others so I can take a look at what you're working with, I'll give you a few suggestions to try, and I'll look at what I can from your account, and then forward all the info onto our admin if we can't figure it out from there.

Go to this website: Click here to send me your browser info about being unable to add songs to your songbook
In the NAME field please enter your registered CHORDIE username (ie: mine is mekidsmom) and enter your email address in the appropriate field.
THEN, come back in here and post a reply letting me know your answers to the Question and that you've completed the task.

For more details - explanation of what/why, see my original descriptive post here: http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic. … 04#p170704

Also, when you come back here to post that you've completed that step, can you please make a post here describing a little more detail for me of the process you're taking to log in, and what you're seeing, where you're getting "booted out"? Obviously you're logged in as far as the forums are concerned because you're able to post.  So what page are you going to and what action are you trying that actually causes you to be booted?  I'm presuming it's when moving to a song page or song book page.  I look forward to getting that info and hearing back from you!  smile

Thanks again everyone for the feedback!  TIGLJK - YAY!  Posts have been restored!

Richiegay, you should be able to comment when you're on a particular song.  I have found a few issues with songs that were saved in my songbooks, however the ORIGINAL songs I'm able to comment on!  smile Since you can edit the songs saved in your songbook, if you wanted to make a note to share with others, you can put that right into the chordpro, and make sure your songbook is public of course!  smile

Glad to hear you're enjoying it Mike39A!  The songs actually are not hosted here on the chordie servers.  Chordie works more like a search engine, pulling the information from multiple places around the net and reading the special chordpro formatting and displaying it in a way that looks and prints nice.  smile  You can actually upload songs to other locations that will host the files, and then submit your links to request your versions of the songs be included the next time a new song index is built!

There's more info about all that on this page: http://www.chordie.com/faq.php

You should be able to SEE the different variations by clicking on the Chord in question.  This doesn't replace it in the song file though when you print it out or save it in your songbook.  When in an open song, click on the chord you'd like to see alternate variations of, it should open up the resources page with just that chord.  You'll need to hit the browsers back button to go back to the song (as the link on that page will take you to the WHOLE big list of alternate chords).

If clicking the chord chart doesn't pull that page up, this could be a matter of Java needing updated (or a few other things).  Let me know how you make out.
