Hi Dennis, to kind of answer your question..... go to the Resources tab at the top of the home page and find "adding songs to the index".  There you can submit the url of the tune you would like to have added to the Chordie Index, from where you could then add it to your personal songbook.  Bear in mind though that it does not happen overnight as all submissions have to undergo a "vetting" to check for malware, coding errors and formatting to be sure it will be compatible with the "on the fly" formatting within the Chordie search engine.

Also Chordie is staffed by folks donating their "free time" without monetary compensation, to keep the music "free" for the community of global museos out there.  Soooo, be patient about how rapidly (or not) your submission gets there.  There is rumour that some minor upgrades are in progress that may delay your request a little bit. but in the meantime you can always "print to file" and save a copy of the tune you found on your local hard drive in pdf format for your own use.

Thanks for Asking! & Take Care.

Having looked at both.... the striking resemblance to the Australian Flag is almost too close to avoid confusion.  As to Phill's comment, I'm thinking it has more to the relationship to Oz than the UK that has folks riled.

Seems to me just a few months ago we were complaining about drought..... now we're treading water!  I'm sure somebody prayed for rain and it's been raining buckets for a week or more. But there is a bright side, the freexing level has stayed fairly high, which is good for getting ahead on the snowpack we'll be needing later in the year.

In the meantime though, flooding and mudslides, local rivers and streams overflowing, debris in the bays and costal waterways raising havoc with shipping, just another Northwest Winter (like the good old pre-drought days!).

Are you thinking about the Cole Porter song from the Movie "High Society" (1956) ??  You might want to do another web search under either Cole Porter (the composer) or Bing Crosby (Major Performing Artist), it should be one of the "classics" and sheet music readily available, although most likely scored for piano.  Hint: capo on 2 and play chords as scored for keyboard, or transpose -2 semitones.

Good Hunting!

OK this is likely not the exact section to mention it in...... but did anyone notice that our Portland Timbers Major League Soccer team won the MLS Championship Cup this weekend?

Just bragging a little on the local gang!!  It ain't FIFA, but growing a good fan base here on this Continent.

It's not usually.... but there are some helpful topics and postings up in the About Chordie section from mambers that have experienced issues with getting the print option to work on some devices with some browsers.  Most seem to be related with mobile devices, not so much with desktop hardware and many have been with the abbreviated mobile versions of the browser.  Firefox with a full-blown Windows PC seems to be optimal, but various flavors of android and some Apple products seem more prone to not playing well with the Chordie options.

Read through a few of them and try a recommended work-around to see if anything solves your problem.  Then post additional information up in that section where it will better get the attention it deserves.

KIR,  I use both spellings interchangably.  I grew up overseas and most of my early teachers were British and naturally "sticklers" on spelling, grammar and the proper use of the English Language.  I've however grown sloppy in my  old age...... it's an American thing, to toss off the "extra" vowels on a whim. Generally both are acceptable in writing although I did get called out on it at Uni by an English Professor who hailed from......South Carolina!  "Yawl shud use gud spellin cuz I mark down if'n yew don't.".    wink

edited to correct improper use of smilie (or smiley or smily or ???)

Does anyone have the chords to Blue Snowfall by George Morgan.  Please post them if you do and thanks.

Please post your question in the "Song Requests" section of the Forums rather than in some random active thread, and you might get a better response.  and Thanks.

ETA link:  ultimateguitar.com has the tune in power-tab and tab-pro if you want to check there, otherwise it wasn't one of George's more popular tunes and not easy to locate (in most of my common search areas).

That is a good question that I don't have a really good answer to (not being an iPad user), but what I usually do is select the print option (here on Chordie) and choose "print to file" from my printer option menu.  I then can save a copy of the tune to my local drive in pdf format that I can do whatever I want with (including sending a copy to the "cloud").  It's really convenient to have the music stored locally for me, as I can sort or choose selections for specific set-lists and still get all that with or without web access, as long as the batteries last.

You can also solve your problem by official find the latest version drivers. Or if you are not good at computer drivers, you can try to use a software to helps you, you can use the DriverDR software.

Driver conflicts can be issues in any software installation, but I personally shy away from "aftermarket" driver search tools in favor of going directly to the operating system source for "certified drivers" that are less likely to not play nicely with your OS of choice (ie: Microsoft for Windows, Apple for IOS, Canonical for Linux),  Another reason to always go to the verified source and run the "Compatibility Tools" feature (especially in Windows) to be sure your hardware is fully supported in the version you are installing (or wait until updated drivers are provided by them) before jumping onto the latest/greatest iteration of the Operating System.

Specifically to Windows 10.... I'm still waiting for all the issues to be ironed out before migrating my 7 and 8.1 systems over.  For everything not "touch-centric" Linux is my flavor of choice and preference.,, for the stuff I do these days.  I do remember the time when you ran a Mac if you were doing lots of stuff that was mostly graphics (because all the best software was Adobe and ran best on Apple hardware), and PC with Windows if most of your work was word processing and number crunching.  Who remembers Kaypro, and all that kickin' engineering software for determining structural stress, and heat loads, in Cobol and Unix???   Didn't think so.....

I too am becoming an "artifact" it seems.  smile

Getting back to the original question.......I'm pretty sure that most wives/spouses/significant-others (choose one) would have a proverbial "tizzy-fit" if anyone was bold enough to "come home with a new piece" wink smile   Especially without permission!!!

But after 35 years of marital "bliss"(?), most things get discussed if the expense is likely to impact the budget.  Discretionary spending is OK to that $200 limit beyond which at least some discussion is required.   That pretty much rules out any high-line guitars just "falling out of a pickup and ending up in the music room".  "Really it was just laying there along the road in the rain......shivering and lonely".

Last time I lusted after an electric guitar, I got the "You have the wood, you have the tools, you have the skills, and you have the time......don't cut any fingers off.".  Needless to say I don't shop much.

I'm curious what a "good setup for the Northwest" would consist of?  Other than drying and packing away your humidifier (surely not needed where the humidity rarely drops below 40%, and hangs between there and 100),  After a couple of weeks of "acclimation" a quick tuning is the only thing I've found. I often travel between here and the Southwest (sometimes for a couple of months at a stretch) and have not had to change anything.

OK maybe a small bag of mildew prevention crystals dropped in the sound-hole......??  wink

I've kinda kept track of the active and semi-active Northwest Chordieans, and have a few to add, (starting with me an early poster to this thread)
Doug_Smith, Salem Oregon
Jerome O'neil, Seattle, Washington
Beamer, Whidby (sp?) Island, Washington (also Seattle area, recently moved here)
Justasinger56, Warrenton (Astoria), Oregon
DiamondT, Coos Bay, Oregon
Rickyjack, Shasta, (Northern) California

In some cases I have included the nearest major city for ease in locating on the map.

If Windows is still present (as in the start screen), I would try "system restore"....... if you accidently tried to install the Chrome Operating Systen instead of the Chrome Browser, you won't see the Windows Splash Screen on Startup.  You will have some uninstallation of the Chrome OS and re-installation of your Windows OS.

You do have a recent backup of all your files and settings on other media than your internal hard drive......... don'cha???

In Windows 10, do what Phill said.

Keep us posted on your solution in case someone else finds themselves in the same situation.

smile I wish I could play every song with barres. Is such a thing even possible, Bryan?

Bill

I'm sure Bryan will chime along shortly, but actually Bill you theoretically should be able to do it.  If you check out Justinguitar's tutorials, he claims that you can do pretty much everything with 5 "grips" (actually 5 with a E string root, and 5 more with an A string root).  Which holds true if you limit yourself to Major, Minor, 7ths, Maj7, flat 5 ,and Dom 7th chord patterns. Get into Diminished, Augmented, and / ("slash") chords and you kinda have to toss the barre out in favor of freeing up enough fingers to hit all the voicings.

That's why the Lord made "altered tunings"........ so us arthritic folks don't have to "pretzelate" our digits.  wink

Ooorrrrrr, You can do a "Beamer" and crank the amp up and bash away with "power Chords"........ with enough volume and distortion you can't tell the difference between a Major, Minor, or 7th.

(just joking Scott) smile

This is one of my favorite places to shop in the area.  Not only is the shop well stocked, but the staff is friendly and encourage you to have a seat and play away to your heart's content on anything you fancy.  I've known Kent since 1976 and even took a couple of lessons from him to get back into playing after Nam.  Good folks and kind of a landmark hereabouts. every instrument is dusted and tuned daily, Outstanding Customer Service!

Welcome to Chordie!!  If you can find the tunes you desire here indexed on Chordie, you should be able to print a paper copy for your "binder", or you may want to start your own "songbook" to which you can add tunes as you find them for access via the net.  Your option, but I personally just "print to file" and store a virtual copy on the hard drive of my laptop so I can get to it even if there is no internet asccess.  I also have printed copies just in case the batteries go dead or we have a blackout...... paper works around the campfire out in the middle of nowhere, by torchlight if necessary.

Anyway wander around the site and introduce yourself to the members down in the chat corner, read the "stickys" at the top of each of the sections for tips and guidelines to assist in getting the most out of your Chordie experience and above all, Welcome Aboard!!
