Good for you.  I played at my youngest daughters wedding a few years ago.  She wanted me to play I I Should Fall Behind by Bruce Springsteen.  It was a hit.

I think that is the way to go, however, as you said, that old muscle you used for many years doesn't change easily.  But it can be done.  Lots of practice man.

I must admit, I never thought of this, but it is a very interesting subject when I think of it. Let us know if you find any further info on this.  A thesis on left handed players is in order.

Sounding great buddy

Sounded good to me BGD.  I do the same most of the time. I do a lot of takes, but I am more lenient on myself than you.  I finally take the best of several recordings and upload that one. If I didn't do that, I would never post a song.

Good for you DE.  You have expanded the world of music. A little Civil War Rap would have gotten their attention also.

I oil my rosewood fretboards but never, ever oil my maple fretboards.

On maple, I just use normal guitar polish.

Guitar polish probably has a little oil in it.

One size does not fit all. They are not the same.  You will get many answers here and then you can choose for yourself.  I like my Kyser, but there are many good ones on the market.

I have found over the years that the picking hand controls volume, rhythm, expression, three key elements in making your guitar transfer the emotions your feeling into melodies and your fretting hand controls the precision and execution of a given set of notes or chord progression both work in unison to make simple chords or melodies into an art form and as mentioned scales play an important role in developing these skills to allow you to effortlessly glide from one chord or note to the next when I play a solo I don't consciously think of what notes I am going to play or any riff it happens kind of like magic the chords progression lets me create the notes in my head and my fingers execute what I feel I don't know about other musicians it would be interesting to get other opinions on this smile

Man, that is the longest sentence I've ever seen Russell.
As for me, practice does help a lot.  I just keep playing the same pattern over and over and it finally allows me to do it without thinking down the road.

That's the only way.  Perhaps you could meet half way someplace.  I guess we need a chordiestock west also.

Oh yeah I love Waylon.  I guess my  favorite music today is old country and old rock and roll

I'm not sure, but if you listen to the beat of the bass of the song, just try strumming to that.  It usually works

There are a few spiritual songs I don't necessarily believe in but I like the songs so I do them. One comes to mind.  My Sweet Lord by George Harrison.  It's a very moving song and I like it. Never really thought about it I guess.  Or have I? With me, it's all about melody.

If it sounds right just using the A and E then don't worry about the extra stuff I guess

Ah the Pusher would be a great song to learn. One of my favorites in those days.

Happy birthday Jeff and Katie and nephew.  I think I'll raise a beer in your honor today Jeff.  Or maybe a few.

I am slowly looking for a great sounding smaller bodied guitar like that.  I might have to check into those.
