Hi, all.

Is there anybody out there who can play this track, and would be willing to break it down nice and easy for me? I have looked at it so many times, and don't know where to begin. The tempo is way too fast for me to work out what's going on. Can anybody help?

Thanks,

Shady

Not sure whether you'd consider this, but

My Sweet Lord (when played in Am) sounds excellent on a 12er.

Feel a Whole Lot Better- The Byrds.

Here Comes the Sun- Beatles/George Harrison.

Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)

I think you've inspired me to tune mine tomorrow, and have a thrash and howl with it.

Well, not quite so drastic, but try closing "Wish You Were Here" with a semi-showy ending, whilst your leg's shaking like a pneumatic drill. Darned impossible. Nearly dropped my pick. Then to be confronted with somebody saying "I know that song!". Well...you ought to. It's a classic, right?

A question I can answer, I hope.

F/A, C/E. It means that you play the chord denoted by the first letter, with the letter after the slash as an added bass note. Unfortunately, I cannot provide you with diagrams for those shapes, because I don't know them, but I believe that they are detailed in the chord diagrams under the Resources tab.

Hope that helps,

Shady

Open G on my current "beater" acoustic. Like the sound of F#m on my player. The twelver's favourite chord is Am.

"Close to You", weedjie?

I'm ashamed to admit it, but that song ALWAYS makes me cry.

Is there a chance you could do a version of "Let Go of the Stone"- John Anderson?

I'm working on "Lookin' Out My Back Door"- CCR

I am also thinking about making my next project "Walk of Life"- Dire Straits.

Hi, all.

I've looked for awhile for this song, and I haven't found it, so that's why I am asking here.

I believe it's from their 1991 album "The Rest of the Dream", but I'm not in a position to be able to get hold of that here, so I stand no chance of working it out for myself.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance.

Great topic, last rebel!

Some of my favorite favorite American writers include John Prine, Stephen Foster, Mary Gauthier, Gillian Welch, Tom Lehrer, Lyle Lovett, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Shel Silverstein.

Canadians include Joni Mitchell, Neil Young,  and k.d. lang.

Some Brits I like include Richard Thompson and Boo Hewerdine.

My favorite Australian song writer is Eric Bogel.

I admire any song writer who can tell a great story, paint a vivid picture, or convey an emotion.

Australian? He's a Scot living in Australia, I believe. smile

Well, the question's in the title, but I'll expand here. What was the first chord or song you played after the clock struck midnight on the 1st of Jan?

For me the first chord was an E as I checked that the guitar was in tune.

Anybody else?

Frantically, this is how I play when I am learning a song and cannot yet keep up.

False

The person below me owns a Fender Telecaster modified to look just like George Harrison's "Rocky".

I don't remember whose 'Everybody's Talking'

Fred Neill wrote it- don't know that he ever recorded it, though.

Hi, all.

I just thought I'd share the  news that I now have a recording of "Single For The Night" uploaded on my website.

Enjoy.

Something.

(Other George songs I consider George solo, even though they were Beatles tracks.)

Hi, all.

This might be a silly question, but I have to ask- how on earth do you count 6/8 time? (I am interested because I'd like to give James McCormick's "Shopping Cart Cowboys" a go.

Thanks,

Shady

Hey, all.

I'm looking at the moment, for guitar chords to the Charlie Landsborough song "Song of the Ocean". I would appreciate any help that you can offer.
