LOL! Zurf that cracked me up. I'm in big_smile

Man, It's all in Jesus. Everything. Look Him up, check the evidence, He is everything to me. He changed my life. God has got all the answers.

Thanks! What I have on soundclick is not actually classical music though... it's like acoustic improv, written and played on my Guild. Classical guitar is pretty different. I'd like to post some of my classical stuff, but I don't think it's allowed to post other people's music on soundclick, seeing as I didn't write the classical stuff.

So I missed the deadline for my grade 7 guitar exam, and am proceeding to Grade 8 guitar.
I have a fantastic teacher, and this stuff is looking amazing! World class songs. Anybody else doing classical guitar? I do RCM. I'm pretty sure that's Canadian, though... On that thought, how many other Canadian users are there here? Eh? lol
Anyway I'm pretty excited for this. Gonna do my Grade 8 exam next January, hopefully.
Cheers, Mark

This song has a A-D-A-E progression running through.

A                              D
The solitary lights are blinking
A                                   E
deep in the chasm of my mind
Was it a miracle I survived it?
I don't know, miracles are hard to find
It's like the stars go out on this lonely planet
Is darkness a power, or is it you?
The moon is sometimes still shining
but the mirrors and smoke are hard to see through

CHORUS-

Oh the Lights
What will they show me?
Will they illuminate the truth
like never before?
Oh the Lights
What will they show me?
Will they blind me shut me out
and lock the door?

V2
Hey for second I thought I saw my reflection
in the bottom of a infinite sea
but that single teardrop changed my direction
Will we ever know if that was really me?
Singing our life songs in the dark
Does it give us room? or take the love away?
Will we find the answers to all our questions
or does the truth wait till the break of day?

Ending/bridge/V3/whatever

In the darkness I heard a voice was speaking
Said I heard you I know you I love I am the truth
Can't you feel can't you see the Light is shining
open your eyes, I promise you'll see Who

Hey thanks guys!

I would record this and some of my other many songs, except I don't have good equipment. The two songs on my site are only guitar, and I hear these songs as full band, not too good with just guitar.
However, my friend's dad is building a recording studio, and when I can get these songs recording with drums and bass and piano and such, you will DEFINITELY hear them. lol
I just don't really want to do a cheap run when I can wait for good stuff, you know?

But thanks for the comments!

The progression runs Em- C- D through the entire song, the D is play like a C form moved up two frets and a A bass.

Em          C             D
So many songs I'm singing
about something I don't understand
Just keep on fighting from
this foxhole in sinking sand
How hard would it be
to just float away
till I find my refuge
and a place to stay

Chorus-

So I look up at the stars
but they don't give me what I'm wishing for
and it's hard
but I know they're singing
about something more X2

V2
Whisper in the darkness
write it on my walls
scream it in the silence
running down these halls
I need to leave you tonight
I need to turn off this darkness
turn on the lights

CHORUS

bridge-
fall from the moon
and I land on my knees
God broke my heart
and buried the keys
fall from the moon
and land on my knees
God broke my heart
oh what sweet release

second chorus-

So I look up at the stars
cuz I finally found what I'm looking for
and it was hard
but I heard them singing
about something more x2

I totally agree with what they said! I woulda guessed you were a lifelong player Pix!

I can't say I remember what day I started, but I remember the day that my mom arranged me to get classical guitar lessons! Not the date though. I was about... 7 or 8, and I never left it big_smile
I started picking as well about two or three years ago. Classical has always been the major though. You learn everything playing classical, then acoustic is easy.

Guild and Taylor acoustics. Can't be beat.
And I would agree with Yamaha for keys, don't know about drums and electric guitars.

Couldn't do without the RIGHT kinda strings. I bought a guitar a couple months ago and changed five times in two weeks, trying to find what sounded right.
Plus a stringwinder... lol. they come in handy.

Hey! I love guilds. Recently bought a GAD 25.... can't complain at all.  Love every aspect of the guitar, though I like wider necks. that's just personal tho. Plays great.
My friend has a guild 35 or something like it that's just amazing....

Hey I love dogs!!!!!!
I had one dog, kinda the family's though, and she had a litter of pups this spring. Purebred golden retrievers, ridiculously smart dogs. I kept a puppy, and am in the process of training her to stay on property with the electric fence. Worked soooo well with our other dog. The mom's name is Jessi, my pup is Tango. I'm still amazed how quickly they catch on to things.

I would have to disagree with that big_smile God is a huge and very fulfilling part of my life. Prayer can do amazing things.

Chord progression E-A-E-B through song

E                  A
Searching for direction
E
I know I'm alive
B
but I'm not sure I care
I know the sun
is shining
does it really mean it's there?
does it really mean it's there?

Chorus-

Bring me out
Bring me over
Show me somewhere I belong
Bring me out
Bring me over
Just give me room for a song
Just give me room for a song

V2
I need to breathe the real air
I need to see the light
Still maybe these secrets
would be better hidden
Maybe we'll sleep tonight
Maybe we'll sleep tonight

CHORUS

V3

Do Your angels really guide me
is Your spirit showing me the way
Oh, I'm asking myself so many questions
Just give me the words to say
Just give me the words to say

CHORUS

Instrumental maybe guitar solo-

Ending-

Searching for direction
I know I'm alive
and I think I care
I know the sun is shining
I guess it means it's there
I guess it means it's there
Oh, I guess it means it's there
