I bought a used Dean Vendetta for 50 bucks and have been pleasantly surprised with it.  I think the lightweight body
is a factor.

Anyway,  I prefer a six in line headstock and was wondering what I would need to do to replace the neck with a different one.   I'm thinking I should take measurements, etc.   I'd like to keep costs down, but get it done right.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Great! Thanks for the responses.  Having some trouble w/ the Stagemate's battery holding a charge.

Greetings...I hope this is the correct forum.

I have a Carvin Stagemate PA system.  Is it possible to hook this into a larger PA and use as a vocal monitor?  If so....would headphone line out or external speaker be good options? Thanks.

I've been looking at a few of the tele-style guitars with the ashtray bridges.  I've also noticed some tele-style guitars that don't have the string through feature.

Yeah, I bought a couple of the Stew Mac extension nuts, but they eliminate fretted notes.  I believe  the Dean Vendetta has a tune-o-matic bridge, but it has the string through the body design.

My main electric is a Westone which was given to me as a gift.  It has six inline, but also a Floyd Rose...uggghhhh.

Anyway, I bought a used Dean Vendetta for $50 to use for experimenting w/ open tunings for slide work, etc.  I've been pleasantly surprised. The bridge raises very easily.  Any suggestions on a tele-style neck w/ the six inline headstock?  Also,  Are there specific measurements I'd need to take to do this? Thanks again!

Thanks for the tips.  I'm going to keep my eyes out for a Danelectro reissue w/ six inline tuners.  The videos were very helpful. Thanks.

I'm basically "guitar maintenance phobic" and am looking for suggestions on the easiest style of electric guitar for changing strings.  I've never owned a guitar w/ a 6 in line headstock and think that would be simpler than the standard headstock.

Do any semi-hollows come with sort of pinless bridges like some acoustics? Not so much the lack of pins, but the easy hook and loop thing.

Also, why don't electrics come with built in tuners like a lot of acoustic-electric guitars?

Thanks!

OK, so I have this Epiphone Regent 30 acoustic amplifier. (Wasn't sure where to post this.)  Anyway, this amp has a high and low input.  It also has an XLR mic input and a speaker extension input (8 ohms).  A few questions:

1. The low input works, but the high does not.  What's the difference between the two? Any specific application?  Would getting the high input fixed
really give me any other options?

2. I'm not sure how the speaker extension works....I'd like to avoid blowing it up or what I connect into it.  I have a POWERED Peavey PR 12 D monitor.
Specs indicate 8 ohms nominal impedance.  I'm thinking I need a passive speaker for this?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Cool. Thanks a million! I'll check it out.

Any help would be appreciated. I believe this starts on Bbminor.  The lead guitarist's pick.

Thanks for the input. Is there a larger wattage model for gigs?

Any thoughts on the simplest or most user-friendly tube amp? I'm not much of a gearhead.  Looking for something that will give me good clean tone
for guitar and can also be used for harmonica. Thanks for the input.

I'm going to check out this used tube amp Crate VC6112 (Vintage 60).  Any tips on what to look for or what not to look for? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. Saw the reranch name when I was looking for more info.  May have to look into a wood dye vs. paint.

Bought a $50 Dean Vendetta guitar and am thinking about painting the body of it.

The body has a wood grain finish and I'd like to paint it white.  Any recommendations on type of paint? Also, is is possible to paint most of the body
w/o removing the strings?  Thanks.

My main concern is quiet practice.   This about the size I'm considering:

    * #3673
    * Double Deep Modular Vertical Shed
    * Outside Dimensions: 5'6" W x 6'D x 6'6" H

Thanks for all of the feedback.  I'll check out the book.  I've heard mixed things about the egg carton insulation.  Have seen a few things about using t-shirts as soundproof insulation.  Anyway, there's a 4 x 6 Rubbermaid shed you can buy for about $400 new.

Wondering if anyone has everyone thought of using a small shed as a sound booth.  Currently in an apartment and have been thinking about a creative way to practice quietly.  Don't have closet suitable for converting into a sound booth. Thanks.

Thanks for the input! I'll check out the Kingman and Michael Kelly visionary series.

Wondering if anyone has thoughts on an acoustic-electric guitar to be used for some songs in open tunings and slide guitar? I like the 6 in line headstock of the Fender Sonoran.  Would like a guitar where I can adjust the action and change the strings pretty easily. Thanks.

Thanks, Doug. I initially bought the Peavey for use a a floor monitor w/ a band.  Now I'm just wondering if I can use what I've got in a PA speaker capacity  for solo gigs.  The Epi has reverb which is nice for vocals. The Peavey is pretty loud!

I have an Epiphone Regent 30 combo acoustic amp and a Peavey PR 12D POWERED speaker.  Any thoughts on connecting the Peavey to the 8 ohm
external speaker output? Peavey has 8 ohms nominal impedance.  Thanks!!
