Topic: Open Tunings Acoustic Electric Guitar

Wondering if anyone has thoughts on an acoustic-electric guitar to be used for some songs in open tunings and slide guitar? I like the 6 in line headstock of the Fender Sonoran.  Would like a guitar where I can adjust the action and change the strings pretty easily. Thanks.

Re: Open Tunings Acoustic Electric Guitar

The Fender sonoran is a fair guitar for a beginner but the Kingman is a little better since it has a solid top. Micheal Kelly made one a few years ago called the visionary series that has a variable set neck that made it very easy to raise or lower the action with just a turn of athe nut on thethe back odto the meck which would be great for going to slide height back to a lower playing height. Most people just use two guitars though. One for alternate tunings and the other for standard with both having different playing height.  Hopefully this was helpful.

Thanks for the input! I'll check out the Kingman and Michael Kelly visionary series.
