Very odd George,
I have no idea what has happened here, I checked on one or two other songs that were perfectly OK, so I have passed the link to Per, the site owner, and hopefully he will give us an answer soon.
Thank you for pointing it out,
Roger

Hi Rondena,
It is not that no one wants to help you but there are three problems with your request.
Firstly: The guitars in question are an obscure manufacture so the chances are that very few of us (if any) have every played one. I have never heard of this make before.
Secondly: No two guitars are the same, even identical models from the same manufacturer can play and sound different.
Thirdly: As Doug pointed out; how a guitar sounds and plays is a very personal thing and what one person likes another hates. I loathe Gibson guitars, they feel like a brick in my hands and they never sound sweet to me, but many people will swear that they are the best thing since sliced bread.
I can only suggest if you know someone who plays, and you like the sound of their instrument, take them to the store where you have seen them and let them handle them both. Even a righty can assess the action of a lefty guitar and get an idea of the tone for you.

I just came across this on Facebook and thought it may interest some of you that enjoy camping out:

For those of you with issues of ads covering pages please read Mekidsmom's new in-depth sticky at the top of the 'About Chordie' page.
It is a 'closed' topic so comments cannot be added there; click on 'Post New Topic' and start your own thread if you want further help. Please do NOT hijack someone else's thread; several different queries together only creates confusion.
I would just like to add a big 'Thank you Amy' for taking the time to investigate and write this out.
Roger
That is GREAT news!! Not only will that perk your spirits up, less meds will make you feel better.

Roger
Thank you Joe. That is extremely kind of you.
Roger
Thank you Zurf. you are too kind. I do have a 12er here in Portugal (I have just arrived home) and I have one in the UK. Maybe next time I will get one for the States. ![]()
Roger
Zurf, there is no trade agreement between the States and Portugal so, not only would I have to also buy a hard case and pay to take it on two airlines, I would have to pay Portuguese import and taxes. I am told that the customs authorities are not concerned what you paid for an item, they will assess a value and charge you one third of what they think it is worth. Not a good system, except for the government. ![]()

TF, only having a couple of days before having to leave it behind did not take much willpower. Now had I a couple of weeks it would have been a completely different kettle of fish.
Roger
Jim (Mekidsdad) took me to the Guitar Centre in Syracuse yesterday. Luckily it was two days before I leave; had it been before the 'Gathering' I would have been buying this and leaving it at their home:
There were two other 12ers, a Martin and a Taylor, both new and more expensive than this Guild but the action and tone of this outstripped the other two by far.
Roger
The price is unclear but it is $399.99.
Hey come on guys, you are making me blush!
It is a very worthwhile organisation, giving the less fortunate youngsters chance to learn to play, and even earn their own, guitar if they keep to their lessons.
The praise is due to Ken and the other members for the good work they do.

Amy and Steph.

Scott, re-reading this thread, are you saying that you did or did not post it on Chordie? Or did you just send a recording of it out to people? I am a little confused here.
Roger
OK, I bestowed Bill's title. We do not do this very often, Moderators can change their own and, just once in a while, one of us will feel that a Member should have one for whatever reason.
My reasoning: Bill invented the musicate word and a person who musicates must be a 'musicator'. A person who is 'out of the ordinary', remarkable or extraordinary can be described as being 'extraordinaire'. I admire the way Bill handles and confronts his condition that I, for one, dread ever happening to me.
Bill seems to think that he does not deserve it. I think he does. What do you guys and gals think. Should he keep it or should we remove it?
Roger
Hi Joe,
It was great meeting you and, as much as I would like to join your gathering, I am only a poor pensioner so, unless I find I have won he lottery when I return home, I will have to take a rain check on that.
I have been made more than welcome on both my trips to your vast and wonderful country and enjoy discovering the differences between UK and US English. ![]()
Roger
Scott, is it this one by chance: http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=18523
Roger
Hi Rickyjack,
Amy wrote to you earlier asking for details as we cannot see, or know of, any of your posts being removed. Without the information she asked for we have no chance of investigating your query.
Roger
OK Bill I wondered if that is what you thought but that is the guy who developed the PunBB software that Chordie and many other websites use.
Chordie is the brainchild and was developed by Per Egil Kummervold who posts as admin@chordie.

My cats always get fed wet food but there is always a dry food dispenser for them in they get peckish between meals. ![]()

Hi Bill,
I am glad you enjoyed last night, we had a blast. Jim and Amy are excellent hosts, I renewed my acquaintance with 'Dirty Ed', met 'UncleJoesband' for the first time (he brought a 12er with him which I played several times) and met several of Jim and Amy's family. I am looking forward to seeing more of the area and getting some serious photography done.
.
Roger
By the way, I see you posted your age in this one. In one of your messages last night you mentioned that you were older than I. I am afraid I am 3 years older that you my friend. Third of May 1947 is my birth date. ![]()
Bill, who is Rickard Andersson please?
That glow in the sky is me blushing....
Too true Joe and I have been catching up on sleep; 24.5 hours on the go with very little sleep makes Roger a rather tired boy and I have been having one or two issues with internet connections.
As you rightly say Bill, you are able to edit to correct the songs and save them which is a benefit to yourself and other Members.
I decided to play the game, "Where in the world is Roger?" Well... from tracking flights - assuming he got on them properly, Roger should currently be relaxing in NY City waiting for his last flight. We'll be heading out in a couple hours (around the same time his flight does) to meet him on his final "leg of the race" (ever watch Amazing Race? LOL)
We'll get him back here and get him all tucked into a pretty pink room for the night.
The location was correct. The relaxing was most definitely not!! After being on my feet for 20 hours with very little sleep on the flight over the pond my final flight was delayed and hour and a half (on top of the 4 hours I was expecting). I was desperate to get some shuteye but dare not in case I missed the flight. ![]()
Thanks for the patience in waiting for me, Amy and Jim, and I did not notice that the room was pink. I will go and look now. ![]()
Roger
Nice to see you Bill, bags and all ![]()
