Welcome back for you brief visit - hope all is OK at your end ...
Didn't we do a FSOTM on this subject??
[EDIT] Here it is: https://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=34652
My cover: https://youtu.be/DIE7bO-BLfs
A song by Ralph McTell: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_McTell
Released on the "Streets..." album: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streets...
And a recording he made of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NT08VzrXMQ
Couldn't find out much more about it ....
Enjoy!

Nice, left a comment on SC ...
Looks like I've missed the first 61, maybe next year I'll watch it - but why stop when I'm on a winning streak .. ??
Nicely performed NEO !!!
Thanks!
Nice work - times have been hard for us and I'm itching to get a holiday ...
That's really well done, Neo ... you've got a great flowing guitar style and really good voice. For what it's worth, you probably didn't need as much reverb on the vocals. I loved your "No whistling" comment ... good stuff, buddy!
Thank you.
I'm using a single mic to pick everything up, so the reverb for the guitar is also the reverb for the vocals. Sometimes I get a good balance and sometimes not ... still experimenting ![]()

Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) once said something to the effect, that if he was ever complimented for having written a first-rate pop song, he'd consider it both an insult and a wake up call.
LOL - the conundrum of success!!
Cheers
Richard
I have written some original classical guitar music
Please post some up!
Cheers
Richard
I also don't know who made that statement, but I like it.
Thanks - I haven't had the opportunity to use it for a while (and wasn't implying EB is a fool ...
)
I can't remember the exact saying, nor who said it, but it's something like "It's better to be a fool among kings than a king amonst fools" .... ![]()
Cheers
Richard
Thanks - it's interesting to strip down the "synth pop" songs of the 80's and see how they hold up; unfortunately I can't do the french vocal bits, as it was kind of the highlight of the song ....
But glad you liked it!!
Cheers
Richard
you are right it is the guitar you have asked about. Neals guitar is not a stock standard it is made for him as he has a deal with them to promote their guitars,
Ah yea, they usually make 'special' guitars for the promoters of the brand ...
i have recorded it and it lasts just a minute and a half. i shall post it when time allows.
Look forward to the recording ...
Thanks for letting us know; and thanks for wishing him the best from all of us ...
Hope Lindsey gets better soon ... !!
I wiill attach a clip of a song that Neil now does with Fleetwood Mac on their latest tour that he wrote.
Is he using a Maton Tommy Emmanual special, in a blue grass 808 body style??
very good richard, must admit I've never heard it before, who is it by?
It's by "The Church", an Australian psychedelic rock band formed in Sydney in 1980. When I was looking through their Wiki profile I noticed they didn't have a very high profile in the US - yet they have some timeless songs; search for their album called "The Best Of The Radio Songs 2010" for an aural treat ....
Cheers
Richard
A cover of the song from Steve Kilbey and the Church, "Almost with you":

Yup, that there's a cool looking bass ... and probably a LOT lighter than my ThunderBird. I honestly didn't know Hohner made head-less guitars, and they clearly paid a fair bit of attention to this one, with the various electronics upgrades. A very cool instrument!
Here's a FB photo of me playing it in the 90's:
