Hey Everyone, I found a friend who's willing to help me, he's been playing for a long time and very good at it actually, comes from a musical family. The great thing is he only lives a mile and a half from me, just goes to show you most everything you need in usally right in your own back yard, I think I heard that line in a song once!

Hi James,

I agree with the rules, they're short, simple and to the point without being overbearing. I think most anyone should be ok with these rules. I know anywhere or anytime you'll get the one bad apple once in awhile but I think that 99.9% of the people who use this board have been as friendly, helpful and as nice as one could ask for. I also think that you, as well as the other moderater's have done an excellent job of mantaining the boards. In so far as freedom of speech goes, I'm all for that, but anytime you have a public forum where children are reading it, we shouldn't use profanity, at least thats how I feel. I suppose others will disagree, and thats fine, everyone has they're opinion. Just a little common sense is all we need. I think it's great that so many people, from different parts of the world use this board, and get along fine, each giving their ideas, their advice, and showing at least on here, we can all have a common thread among us...music!

Hi Again GuitarPix,

I wasn't aware of the Peru company, but yes were are kinda close here in NC. I know south of where I am there are lots of turkey and chicken farms. None right in my area excatly, but about 60 miles south of me and even more in SC, and apparantly more east/southeast of me. I'm pretty much about 25 miles from what I've read is the geographical center of North Carolina.

I agree, I think second would be any one of several Credence Clearwater Revivial songs, I see them all the time in people's song books.

Hi Flatpicker,

Welcome aboard, I'm from North Carolina where bluegrass is alive and well, it's played at festivals all over the state. I think you have to be more talented to play bluegrass than most any other genre of music, with all the picking going on, personally I can't do it, but I certainly love hearing and watching it. so again welcome to chordie, it's a great site!

I appreciate all the great advice, the thing is, is that I don't have any friends who play anymore. I use to have lots who did back in my earlier years, but you know how things change as you get a little older, you lose touch. Anyway, I've always worked through it when I hit the wall, and I will again, I'm that determined, though it would be easier if I had the friend who played, but it's great getting ideas on how others work through it. Thanks again for all the advice, and Zurf...I promise not to smash the guitar, at least not today.

For me its, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Jackson Browne Bob Dylan, Goose Creek Symphony John Mellencamp, Don Henley, John Prine, I'm sure there are lots of others, but my mind is tired now...I'm going to bed now!

Hi Everyone,

I just wondered what everyone does to stay motivated to learn more,  more than you know now. When you have times when your just not sounding as good as you did...say last week..or you've just hit a wall so to speak. I know the love of music is motivation enough, but I just wondered about what everyone does to push theirselves to get better.

Ray Charles - Stevie Wonder
Stevie Ray Vaughn -BB King
Jimmy Page - Jimi Hendrix

I looked at the site and saw much of nothing there that was of interest to me, part of it was shut down. I haven't found any site that equals Chordie for songs, information, features, or the help from other guitarist's, and the brotherhood of the folks on here. I've been more than pleased with Chordie, and my playing since finding this site has improved immensly, hats off to Chordie, all it's members, along with the owner and administraters!

Hi Old Doll,

Well I see, Ireland Huh! another place I'd love to visit one day, I love to travel.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall soft upon your fields
          And until we meet again
          May God hold you
In the palm of his hand
