Well, Happy Christmas to ya Russell. I can say first hand that's a good'n! #4 son got married a little over a year ago and I got to use one of these videoing the Ceremony. (Not Devon... Grant, he's adopted and about a year younger than Devon)
Anyway you should put it to good use with the music you are producing and the vids to go with. You must have been a very good fellow this last year for Santa to splurge like that!
Take Care & Stay warm over the Holidays!

Good Night Joe. RIP
Yup all the classic rockers are getting to our age and...... dropping like flies.
Kinda makes you glad you didn't totally waste your youth on sex, drugs, and rock'n roll don't it?
But we'll miss him anyway.
Hi Lou, I also found the David Bowie version, which has the solo tabbed.
http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/d/david … am_tab.htm
It is also indexed under Bowie, David here on Chordie, but I think the Ultimate link is more readable (at least on my PC).
Hope it's the one you are looking for, and have fun with it!
Welcome to Chordie!
Doug
Well you take it easy through the Holidays, and remember to take those fluids! Peppermint Schnapps should be on the list of "approved" liquids.....
works wonders for the respiratory system, and not a bad nudge in a cup of hot cocoa either.
Be good and get better;

The USB spec. is good for about 3 Meters..... above that length the signal starts to degrade rapidly. The hiss you are getting is likely from the connectors, the cable itself is shielded, the connectors not so much. So if you have to chain a couple together to make the distance, you are better off just investing in one long enough from the get-go rather than daisy-chaining a couple of short ones.
Good Job on that Pete! Gotta love the Harmony Effects though.... but so far as the settings, I think you got it perfect for that particular tune.
Kev? You should have been able to get the Audio on that.... Didn't have the mute enabled in the youtube player by chance? With so many places to turn the sound off, it's easy to miss one.
If there ever was a "weakness" in a Gibson.... it's the scarf joint on the neck. That's what it looks like and although it can be repaired successfully, there are many comments about necks breaking at that point. I'd go along with Dino on this one and pass.
Surprisingly, the Epiphone version's neck is made differently and for some reason not prone to the same failure..... go figure!
Howdy Cork, Well in some way to answer your question, yes you can. Essentially the X Rocker is just a chair with built in speakers (generally no woofer though).... so as long as you send audio signal to the RCA inputs of the chair it will "play" sound for you via it's own volume and gain controls.
As for just adapting your guitar input into it directly.... not so much. Try just plugging a headphone set into your guitar, and you will see what I mean.... no volume! There has to be some sort of amplification stage between your instrument and the speakers to drive them (pick-up output is not enough on it's own). So you are back to connecting your instrument to an amp, and then to the chair as an aux. output (ext.speaker)..... might as well just plug your headphones into the amp and save the $$$ if your goal is to not annoy the folks next door when practicing.
Personally though it's cool for chillaxin and watching the tube, or maybe gaming purposes, but for me the arms would just be in the way of my guitar and after awhile I'd be ripping them off and sending them to recycling.

Therein lies the question in my mind about a "phone App" tuner! We have to remember it is a PHONE, and I doubt that the tiny microphone was ever designed to accurately respond to a range of frequencies above or below that of the human voice. Ambient noise could be a problem as the statement about it being "jumpy" will attest. So I would better "trust" what the tuner "hears" through sensing vibration directly rather than otherwise.
Just my $.02
My Guitar (A/E) has a very good tuner built in, My Harmony G pedal has a tuner built in, My amp has a tuner built in, and if all else fails..... I still carry my A440 tuning fork (no electrons needed).
Howdy Harry, and Welcome to Chordie!! Thanks for your comments.... it's nice to hear how "Awesome" we are once in awhile.
You might check out this link which might be specifically what you were asking about:
http://www.humboldtmusic.com/resources/GuitarChords.pdf
Something like 7 pages of fairly complete diagrams that you can use for reference. I personally carry a book from Flame Tree Publishing, titled: Guitar Chords, edited by Jake Jackson, ISBN# 1-84451-392-0 www.flametreepublishing.com
Which I find handy to toss in the old gig bag so if I happen to be off somewhere and somebody asks "what the heck is that chord you're playing?" I have the visual aid to support my contention that I didn't really just make it up.... or goof it up.
Take Care, and again Welcome to Chordie.
Doug
Wish her a Happy Birthday! From the Chordie Family.....
Have a Good One!!
A couple of things to check.... Does the device have an OPL (output limiter) if so turn it off and see if it gets better. The other thing is that it should show up as a audio input device and likely will have a volume control (like your normal volume control icon) that might be adjustable. You probably already checked that though.
Is there an option to software route the input through the "line in" to your sound card rather than "Mic"?
At least you got your nuts! Out here we have Filberts and Walnuts (I wish I had Pecan Trees, but alas they do not do well here), and my several trees fall victim to rampant squirrels that cut them down before they're ripe. Thirty years ago I'd think nothing of hunting the critters and thinning the population by virtue of lead poisoning.... but everybody wants to live "in the country" so a couple hundred yards in any direction is a tragedy lurking.
PETA is happy, and we have to buy our nuts from a commercial grower..... Welcome to the Wild West!
Grah1 wrote:.It does however state that the usb port used in the install becomes dedicated and will block any other audio input .
Well that makes sense, but I would also expect that when you "safely remove" the device from the system, it should revert to the "native" input sources (so that the usb plug can again be used for other things). You may have to manually select your usb interface as the "input source" in your recording software, and back again when you use the mic input (native) as it likely won't automatically register with associated applications.
Just added that so if you go to record and it doesn't hear anything..... there might be something else to do. Plug-and-play isn't always that.
Also don't turn on Phantom Power UNLESS your using an active mic that requires it. Grabbing the 5 volts off the usb bus and bumping it up to 59 volts puts a heavy load on your laptop batteries when unplugged from the mains. Mentioned that in case you are like Russell who wanders down to the park and records in the sunshine with the birds and squirrels chorus line.
Howdy Joe, Well I suppose that you are using windows, and I also suppose that your PC doesn't recognize the interface when you plugged it into the USB port on your 'puter. You will likely have to install some sort of driver software in order for your watchacallit to see the thingamajig....
http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UM2.aspx
Scroll down the page until you see the box marked for your operating system (if it is a Mac, you'll have to go to the App Store and likely purchase it, money hungry so and so's they are!). Agree and download the software and install to your system, there are lots of plug-ins also available free there, but for the time being, we are only interested in the drivers that will let your PC find your toy and use it as a audio input device instead of only your on-board microphone &/or plug. That should get you running, so have fun and let us know if you have any problems.
Doug
you know Russell, you are going to run out of wall really quick if you keep it up.....
But I do understand the addiction! There are worse "hobbies" out there.
Seahawks did it! Can't however believe the 49rs loss to Oakland though. Looking forward to the Packers at home again tomorrow, should be a good one in the cold.... and a late game! Will have to put fresh batteries in my electric long-johns just to watch that one. Wisconsin fans must be a hardy bunch.
All those years of "ear" training for nothing.... replaced with electronic tuners, and now automatic tuning machines.
Pretty soon our technology will make us obsolete (at least according to Stephen Hawking). So I suppose the next big thing will be just to let your computer know what you want to listen to and it'll play it for you??? What's that Cortana? No I would not like you to connect to Pandora at this time Thanks.....
Have Fun!!
Ohio 59.... to you got it, Zip. It was a disaster for sure. My condolences.
Well just for grins & chuckles, I went ahead and tuned off Ad Block and Ghostery..... and sure enough there are ads "placed by Google" all over the place. Doubleclick and Adsense seem to be the culprits in this travesty.... but simply enabling the Ad Block plugin they go away. On a phone those darn ads add about a third of the time to loading..... and I find them annoying.
Hope that helps;
Doug
Joe.... Why Yes it is!
There is a song in there somewhere.... something like:
Ass in the sand, a cold drink in my hand, with no bottom
No Spam
No Ads
No Problems
No! Wait, that's been done I think!!???!
Pac 12 Tonight 6:00PM PST in Santa Clara, CA. Our Ducks Vs The Arizona Wildcats..... should be a good game! Naturally I have to root for the Ducks (even though they slaughtered my Beavers in the Civil War Game here a week ago!).
Quaaaakkkkk Attaaaaaaaak !!!!!
It's not showing up on mine..... And YOU ARE GOING TO FORCE ME to turn on a Windows machine aren't ya! Anyway it could be worse, you might want me to drag a mac out of storage too while you are at it.
I run Linux, Firefox, Avast was my antivirus of choice (but not needed with Linux), Ad Block Plus, and Ghostry, cookies are deleted on closing the browser. No pop-ups, no ads, and no problems. I checked my logs, and find a surprising absence of blocked ad scripts from anywhere! So.... when I get more information from those who are having problems, I'll try to duplicate it on one of the other machines and see if I can come up with a recommendation. I'm kinda with BGD thinking that a change in preferences at the user level might do the trick.
Howdy, We are trying to figure that out in another topic up in the About Chordie section. It doesn't make you feel better I know, but not everyone is having that issue (like you are the second or third).... the trick is to figure out what you folks have in common that is causing it, because there are no ads running on Chordie or have been for quite awhile now. http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=26400
A little info about which browser you are using and OS might assist us in getting it sorted, so a cure can be effected.
Thanks;
Doug

Sorry, but you aren't going to want to hear this..... IT AIN'T US!!! It is Google. ALL Advertising on Chordie has been Suspended for quite awhile now in a Policy to slam the door on Unsolicited Advertisers who were trying to insert Spam Links into our music index. The Site had been up and down for a few months (in short intervals) to sift things out and once cleaned out, Admin curtailed advertising and disabled some rarely used features to prevent further incursion.
So, not being one of those sites that would just go off and not offer a remedy. Let us know what browser and OS you are using, and we'll see if we can come up with a couple of little things to help end your frustration.
Thanks;
Doug
