thank you both, (I have accepted Riddler on my space).
I have just discovered that you can use another input when using the mic, this gives me a range of efects to improve the sound, so my voice should sound better.
I have another problem to do with the Boss, so I will be starting another post.

thanks selso
the effect I used was phase effect on my boss recorder, it sounds like two guitars slightly out of phase.

Re: Alternate Picking (7 replies, posted in Electric)
Hi, I use alt picking most of the time, unless the music needs just down stroks, I find it keeps your struming hand in time better and as always it is much quicker to alt pick, in fact twice as quick as you gain a note on the up strum.
the best practice all round is to play along with a song you like, you will learn just what the guitarist who played it was doing.
best of luck tonyblue

Hi Russell,
it is just everything, I have looked at the files that you kindly put on the site, but in my case nothing seems to work.
I do have a song at the moment that I recorded with drum machine, could I take out the start and end using audiocity ?
as always Russell, thanks for all the help that you give on the site

Re: i need advice where to start (7 replies, posted in Recording)
I use a Boss micro, yes it costs money, but it is the cheepest recording studio that I could find, when you have your recording transfer it to the computer, and burn the CD.
PS I to can not get Audiocity to work as well.

Re: Some "simple" questions (5 replies, posted in Acoustic)
hi try to pick out some of the strings when you are playing a chord, arpedgio ?, it will give you a lead like sound under your chord, also try some quick up strums.
It is possable the play any guitar alone, but you will have to fill out the sound to make it interesting, it is only trial and error, if it sounds right to you it is good.
Lastly regarding sound levels, I moved to an eletric guitar, and the next day my wife got me a set of headphones, now when I play it is only me who hears it.

how about the 12 bar blues played in E major
E, A, B7
There are 100s of songs played with this, try Route 66.

Sore fingers, rub your finger tips on your pants, jeans are best, this will ease your fingers, and help building callouses, you have to do it a lot.
Agree with everyone else, get it set up, you will get a new set of strings, so ask for the ones you want.
I also have an aria, it is a fair guitar that plays well.

Hi camdener,
Thanks for your post, I would love to play with you, but we live 200 miles apart, but I do have something that you may want to try.
Make a CD of your best songs and give it to anywhere that may offer you work.
Email any place that may offer you work and ask them to listen to you.
Play your guitar in the park, not busking, this will atract other music players to speak to you, you could make a group from the ones you meet. But please be sure to keep yourself safe, take a friend with you.
Best of luck, and if I had started is journey at your age I would be a star by now, so keep on.
Regard TonyBule

Respect back to you KajiMa.
I would consider palying away from where I live, ie Liverpool or Manchester, and I will look into if I need a licence or provide a sample of my music.
I also would like to thank you for all the help you have offered me on the other posts I have put on here.

Re: what am i missing???? (13 replies, posted in Electric)
you could play a chord solo, or play the chord as single notes but mix them up a bit.
do you know the pentatonic scale positions, as these are very good for making solos, I find it better to keep the struming hand moving at the same rate playing solos as when you play the melody, and keep going back to the chord so everything flows along.
hope this helps.

Re: local bands ???? (16 replies, posted in My local band and me)
I have shown it to "my good lady", she feel that everyone can have an opinion, thats yours, and she has hers.
We live in north wales, and we do have our share of down and outs, who try to play penny whisles and broken guitars along with the normal beggers asking for money in the streets. I think that as we are a holiday resort a lot of people on the dole prefer to live here than in Liverpool or Manchester.
So I must agree with her, and I would not feel safe playing on the streets alone. Up to last Sat I did play on the streets with a group called Ghostbuskers, it was organised by the recording studio I use, I will not play with them again due to the lack of effort put in by the other members.
This is just to show you that I have not dismissed your input out of hand, in fact I really apprieciate any input, so thank you

Re: Good ways to clean an acoustic guitar? (16 replies, posted in Acoustic)
on the guitar body I use car polish, lightly if it has got greasy, the rest of the time I just wipe with a micro fibre cloth. Lemon oil on fret board after cleaning the string with fast fret.

I love this song, it is on u-tube, by the sons of maxwell, the tune seems to be familiar, so it maybe a copy of something else.

Re: Acoustic problems (6 replies, posted in Acoustic)
thanks to you all,
first, alvee, very good point about the strings, you are spot on, acoustic string are much thicker, although I have tried using eletric strings, not good.
KajiMa, I do play acoustic guitar, but only once a week, the main reason for this is my wife, for some reason she prefers to watch TV while I crash away on the strat, with big head phones on, strange that she is not happy listening to me play the same blues lick 30 times over and over again, also the Ovation is acoustic / eletric, but true I don't use FX with it.
geoaguitar, we should get together, you play acoustic, and I play eletric.
Thanks to you all, it is just nice to know that I am not a freak

Can anyone tell me why I can paly any eletric guitar to a good standered, Strat, but when I play acoustic, Ovation, I sound crap,
I have taken the guitar to a good clinic, they say it is fine, I have tried diferent strings, but I still sound crap, is it just a case of style.

Re: question about an acoustic/electric (10 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Have you had the presend guitar set up for you ?
A new set of strings and a good set up will transform any guitar, this would also be a best thing to do with your new guitar.
Hi Doug, I also have an Ovation, mainly due to the fact that I mostly play electric guitar and the shape is better for me, I like it but I can play electric much better, which I find odd.
