OK Z. You're up. smile

Skype is easy to set up too.

Forecast is for rain here all day Saturday. Hope you find a way to broadcast so those of us less fortunate can cyber-partake in the festivities. smile

Don't worry Strummerboy Bill.  I had to learn it when I first came here and saw it too.

Happy New Guitar Day Jim.

I plan on letting a few guitars "look for me" this year. Hopefully the right one finds me. smile

BGD - I will certainly hook up skype or something. Amy mentioned a Google + thing I need to check out - I was looking for something I could hook up, set in the corner and just stream all day / night

Be sure to let us poor, frozen, northerners know what you decide on. I'm not familiar with the Google thing but if that's what's running, I'll figure it out.

Anybody know how to set up a web cam site for hosting vid of chordiestock (BGD)? I've got an I-pad, a laptop and a web cam I could possibly set up if I knew how to host (for free). I see firefox has a new video chat feature - maybe that would work?

How about opening up a Skype call and just leave it running.

I just started using Skype last week. I was under the impression that there was a serious delay between parties but I didn't see or hear it in a call to Colorado.

I haven't tried it yet but you can have multiple people on a call.

Eagles are just starting to make a comeback around here. I saw my first one in the wild last summer.

I think that bridge used to be a landmark for me to know where to turn for getting to a beer distributor I liked when I was up that way.  I went through the intersection last time and wondered what happened.  Was it just down the road from the several waterfront dining spots at a sharp bend where there was a boat dealer?

Yep. That's exactly where it was. If you're traveling south on Rt 15, you pass through the riverfront dining area and come to a light. Turn right and you'll hit that sharp bend. Turn left and you cross the concrete bridge that the steel one collapsed under; the one in the video with people standing on it while the dislodged bridge was approaching them. roll

Probably a good think I can't make it to Cordiestock. You wouldn't have any tomatoes left. smile

I can't even work the ground for another 2 months and if this cold doesn't let up soon, It'll be May till I get a garden started.

The Susquehanna is frozen over too. The last time it froze this hard was 1996. The weather turned warm in January and we had copious amounts of rain.

Frozen river, warm temps and lots of rain produced this interesting footage:

Compared to you guy's we were warm; starting out at a balmy -2 this morning.

Unlike you though, we don't have the wind today so it feels like...................... a balmy -2.

Well I'm officially out. I had a fairly major breakdown in the plow truck this morning as I was finishing up my run. It's looking like a 4 figure repair which unfortunately is coming out of my travel fund. sad

Have a good time. Take lots of pics and video and I'll enjoy it from here.

Joe

Unfortunately, I'm still on the fence. I just saw a longer range forecast and this arctic blast looks to be staying around through at least the first week of March. With it comes the potential for snow and like I mentioned earlier in the thread, I have to be here if it snows or lose my contracts.

Thanks Amy. I actually received the software as a Christmas gift. I just started playing around with it a couple weeks ago.

I don't even know what a Zoom recorder is. I have a mic and a sound hole pick-up for the guitar. I plug one at a time into the mic jack on the computer so at this point I do have to mix here. I bought an interface but I've been having a lot of trouble getting it to work right. It's supposed to be plug-n-play. From a few folks I've talked to, that unlike me, know about such things, the unit itself is defective. I need to write to Berhinger and relate the problem to them.

Do you have the Virginia gathering posted somewhere?

UJB - it doesn't look like there's much snow accumulated there!

Nope. Just a few inches with every storm and it's been the light, fluffy variety. After each storm the wind comes howling down off that mountain and blows most of it into the woods. I haven't tried cutting into it but I'm sure there's 10"-12" of ice and the pond is only 5"deep.

Just saw on the Weather Channel that there is no sign of this pattern changing until the second week of March. yikes
