I found out from my wife that for the first two weeks he as just eating alone at lunch, But then sometime this past week  a table full of girls invited him to sit with them. lolol  So even though he probably did not say a whole lot, he is being noticed.  So I think it will get better for him.

Phill,

I got lucky, it was an over stock (had thought it was slightly used, but all the plastic was still on the pick guard and tuner)  I just happened to be at the right place at the right time for a really great deal.

IDK if i have mentioned this or not,  but my older boy, Cade,  has at least two classes in his new school that he likes.

One of them is "Military History"  I was wondering how that was going to go, so I looked in on him the other night and asked him what his homework was.  "Sparta V/S Athens"  WELL OK they are really starting early! He loves that class.  Heck I might have done better in history if I had that to choose from!

He also gets to finish the day (6th Period) with a Guitar in his hands!  Its so cool they offer guitar as an elective, that he can take till he graduates.  This school realizes that not all kids are going to be interested in athletics or drama.  His teacher did rape Ultimate Guitar for the 200 song song book he gave them.  not sure where the 200 mp3's came from to match them , but they down loaded them to a jump drive  big_smile

When we were signing up  for classes, and I saw the class offered and asked if it was acoustic or electric, the counselor said "Acoustic and you have to have your own guitar".  Cade and I just looked at each other and laughed, We said "Um, That should not be a problem" LOLOL  This also is what helped prompt me into buying the new TAK, I had been using his since my Kamen is really pretty bad off and cost too much to have repaired, Hey that's a good reason right?  If you look at the Chordiestock 3  Pics, his guitar is the sunburst cutaway I was using.

One more thing the class requires, EACH STUDENT WILL SING IN FRONT OF THE CLASS THE SONG THEY LEARN. OH MY lolol.  Once again where was this type class when I was in 10 grade?  I was his age when I found a guy (who is now in brother status) to teach me how to play, and boy did he have his work cut out! LOL

Just wanted to share that with you guys.

Metalize them.  Acoustic metal folk.  You could be a genre progenitor.

That reminds me, I heard a guy's music in a pub that I think you'd like.  I should have paid him an extra $10 and picked up two of his CD's so I could send one to you.  I didn't think that fast at the pub.

Gotta be able to play them first! LOL

While waiting on my sons drum teacher (who never showed cause he got his schedule mixed up but we got a free lesson out of him) I happen to look in the acoustic room and found this beauty, left over from a "garage sale" of overstock and lightly used gear.  My Kamen is really too expensive to repair, so its a keepsake and ill try some Frankenstein repairs.

Welcome the new A/E with tuner and eq single cutaway TAK to the Metalizers man cave.  It was such a great deal!  Dangerous having cash in your pocket. big_smile

JJJ beat me to it, but I will chime in a bit also, You also had Studios who gave big budgets to bands, the budgets for the Doobies and Aerosmith and their piers were ridiculous.  Also holding companies were buying up the small studios looking to cash in and they didn't know shnizzle about it.  It was a two edge sword, we got some amazing bands that way, and we also got a whole lot of trash (which we still do, but that's the way of things).  So then along comes the CD, and quickly after, the MP3 and 4, and data sharing.  OH lets not forget Deregulating the industry.  small stations exist, but they have no range and most the programming is talk / politics .  I heart owns most the country and there is one or two more fighting for control.  sure NBC ABC & CBS own a lot of stations but they have thrown in with Iheart and there is now real diversity.  Just last night I had on one station and it was playing RHCP Give it away, when the commercials came on, I hit my other station, and it was starting RHCP Give it away,,  it happens a lot.  NO money in Records/CD's.  the glory days are gone.  You better have some good sponsors and be ready to hit the road like crazy and merch the crap out of yourself to make the $$.

Ill see what my spring time off is like (I may not have any days left IDK) and what kind of budget I have by then.  Really want to come again!  I miss you and Z and the rest of the gang.

Ok I just realized I never made mine public, So there are two new ones to look for.  One is Jam list and the other is my songbook, I added some other info, but never really looked at public books.  I know in the description of Jam List it says  Songs for drinking beer and having fun with friends.

I am in the "Does it feel, sound, and play good?" category. Not even worried about what kind of wood.

Just this past weekend while I was waiting for my sons drum lesson to be over, I wandered into the Acoustic room.  Although I am not a classical player, I have a sound and feel that is my own and I only know it when  I play a guitar.  That being said, I picked up a mid priced Martin (the $700 range) and played it.  Once again I have to say,, not a fan, was not inspired.  walked to the other side of the room and picked up a $300 Fender with cutaway, BOOM it had the tone and the action was where I liked it.

So as is with Beer and Coffee, Its all up to your own taste wink

Cheers!

I think I will check in as zurf also.  on the 6th me and the boys will be on a 2.5 hr zip line course!

UG3: " 'A Song' is stupid.  Why do you want to play that ****hole song."

Yeah.  I don't go on the forums there much any more.  There is no encouragement.  No help.

NOT IN THIS HOUSE, THE OLD HOUSE WAS ALL WOOD EVERY WHERE
but that basement carpet wont last long and we will probably put down wood and lots of area rugs.

We are waiting for 2 more posters to get here and then Ill post a vid clip of everything.

I dont even pay attention to the banners any more.  The people here are great, and as mentioned, unlike UG you dont have a bunch of immature adult children and children being keybd warriors to get their rocks off.  Along with Zurf, I was in a bad place at the same time he was.  the people who helped him out also helped me out and I was able to see my chordie family.  So come on back in, get used to the changes, and get to know us.
Cheers, Beamer AKA "THE METALIZER"
