Yeah I heard about the niners during halftime of the Seatttle Denver show.....  and yes, show was the intended word.  I had expected a good matchup and some serious football..... but seriously!  Hard fought on both sides of the field and the line.  Well worth the investment of time it took to sit on my arse and see every minute.  Including the overtime.

Congrats Hawks!

and Well Done Mr. Manning!!

There is a bunch of stuff that you don't see getting blown away during the wee hours thanks to Mr. G, who must hit the keys while his morning kettle is heating. But some of it can be entertaining..... along with the wrinkle cream, weight loss pills, male enhancement products, and such, there is the Travel Tours of Ireland, Real Estate Agents in Melbourne, Lawyers in Wellington, Limo Service in Hong Kong (hookers optional), Escorts in Bankok, Bouncy Castle Rentals in Surrey, and someone who wants to chat about buying & selling used cars in Belarus.

The best thing we as members can do is to avoid clicking on their links, depriving them of getting paid for the "hits", and preventing the spread of "computer diseases" (virus & malware).  We may not win the War, but we sure make it tough on 'em.  For every one you see there are (on average) 5 you never get a chance to.

Good Work Team!!!

My buddy Gregg has a small music shop here in town, visited awhile back and he had this ancient Austrian made archtop hanging on the wall......
built in 1932!  cosmetically rough but still playable with a crack in the top and alligator checking in the finish, which was worn through in some places.
Amazingly loud and great sustain and tone.  The action was a bit high and so was the price, but restorable.

Resisted the temptation though..... have more projects than I know where to start with.

Nice one Jerome!  About the price of a new car I suppose.  Sound holes kinda like a Taylor, but not.....  Custom Maker starts with "P"?

I kinda like the front strap pin in the flat of the upper side bout near the neck, many guitars have a large enough neck block to catch plenty of meat there.  Knew a guy that tried to install his pin on the neck heel, didn't drill enough clearance and split the darn thing..... repairable but ugly and heartbreaking.

As for cases, you know the story there.  Gig bags are light and if you are safely transporting your "baby" in a car, and are easy to lug around once you've arrived....... but certainly not up to banging around in the cargo hold of say an airplane.

Goodonya  Easybeat!!

It can be intimidating putting yourself out there.... but a lot easier online rather than onstage (at least to start) Plus you don't have to dodge beer bottles!

Did you overlook the link to Soundcloud?

So what happened to our Seahawks Jerome....... you give 'em more than a week off and they lose to the Chargers????

I missed the game with other projects pressing, but was disappointed to hear the score.

Watched it.....

Couldn't find it tabbed anywhere either, but it looks and sounds like (heavy on the bass half of the stack like power chords) the progression is something like:

Db  A F5 F#m   rinse and repeat as needed

chorus is mostly hanging around the F & F#  but that should get you started anyway.

Have fun with it!

Howdy and Thanks for Posting,

The option is located in "sort order" directly to the right of the title "Public Songbooks"...... but it only displays the stars in what appears to be random order not last reviewed highest to lowest or otherwise.

I'll mention it to the rest of the Mods, and we'll investigate and advise.

Thanks

I've seen something similar... on end tables and such where laminate has been installed over a "real wood" core.  In what you are seeing is likely that the black surface on the face is plastic with the inlay installed and glued to the headstock.  Wood expands and contracts with humidity and the adhesive will allow for a little "creep" or it would cause extreme "cupping".  When I refer to creep... I mean SLOWLY, rapid changes would create the warping effect you see.

Underneath the wood should be true and stable, so the warping is truly cosmetic.  If it offends thee, you could heat remove the laminate and flatten it, then re-glue it again in an afternoon.

I think the only thing that you can say safely is that the entire distribution model and means for earning money have changed.

That pretty much says it the way it is.... you can turn on any radio station and hear the same "hit-factory" music with different words and music, but all cranked out from the same cookie cutter.

"Artists" are the folks out there making their own music, laying down their own tracks, burning their own CDs and distributing their work independently to cut out he fat cats at the top who write contracts ensuring that the performer/writer gets a mere stipend for their effort.

You might get paid less regularly as an "Artist" these days but at least you get to collect a bigger (and fairer) chunk of the pie.  But yes you still get to vote for your favorites with your wallet.... or not.  For the most part we might sample music from a new group (youtube is a good example), but still buy the album or tickets to the concert if it's worth it.

Hi Wigster,

Yup I too have heard a rumour about an iPhone App, and what I heard is that it is the same app that works on the iPad as well, but as mentioned, I am "stupid" about apples other than the ones in my orchard.  Spoke briefly with Devon (the kid...actually 30 but it's relative) and we kinda tossed around a few ideas.  The auto scroll function on the webpage on Chordie functions as a javascript call to the browser, so knowing that you are using Chrome is helpful as it should show up providing you have not disabled java in your browser preferences.  Some do and it can be set with an update without notifying you of the change which could explain why some folks used to see it and not now.  The iPad/iPhone functions seem to have some differences depending on if your device reports itself as a mobile or desktop device. But as neither of us has one to play around with, it is just guesswork for the moment.  We did peek into the code here on Chordie to see if there were any clues to lead us to something internal that may have excluded your device and there seems nothing untowards in there, although there would be nothing we could do to change it if there were, except note and report the bug up the ladder.

As For the Chordie App, it may be referenced on the resources page (although I have not looked yet) and if so you might give it a try.  As Pete suggested, check your settings and be sure that your device identifies itself as a mobile agent, which might correct the whole mess from the onset.  I'll call Devon and we'll include the information you provided in our discussion and see what pops out.

Sorry about the anti-virus reference.... don't use one on linux either, but we have a secure firewall that does a pretty good job of locking out all that bad stuff.... and I'm usually a Windows kinda guy living in a Windows kinda world.

Take Care;
Doug

PS: The version of Chrome for the iPad doesn't run the full blown java engine and may not be handling the script, so you might try the Safari or Coast browser to see what happens (as an experiment).  DS

Thank You Wigster for getting us back on topic.....

I just kinda stumbled onto this thread and have been looking around to figure out why it's not working for you.  First off I haven't been a iOS user since I retired my Mac Classic some 20 years ago, but I do have a Techie on staff that knows stuff pretty well from having to make iPads play well with other systems as an IT Manager with the local School District (yeah that's my boy).  Anyway there are a couple things we need to know in order to assist in figuring your problem out.

Did it used to work and now doesn't?  Or has it never worked?  What interface (browser) are you using to access chordie or are you using the iPad Chordie App?  Are you using an Ad Blocker and/or Anit-virus software and if so what?

I can say, that us Windows users and I use Linux as well do not seem to have the problem.... and the way it looks from our perspective is that the bb software used by Chordie does not send scripts to our software or hardware to enable or disable the auto scroll function, but rather sends a request to the host site and translates/displays it here in the Chordie window.

The iPad App my function differently actually calling on the auto scroll to enable on the hardware display platform.  If so there would have to be a command sent requesting it, and if those requests were not allowed (as in a security setting) , yeah it wouldn't work and it may not even display as an option on the page.  Is it there and simply not functioning?

With a bit more info, I'll get him on the line and we'll try to get it sorted for you...... you can't be the only one out there with this issue.

Thanks;
Doug

In the aftermath, I genuinely thought that it was going to be closer than it was.  But Russell you are right.... stupid penalties on both sides cost dearly and what was with that 40+ yard call?  I had no idea that you could stack up enough fouls to make the officials count that high!

Perhaps they'll get another chance to meet again later in the season (around playoff time) and if so I'll sure be clearing my calendar to watch.

It's a beautiful day here in the Northwest.... high 80s and sunny!  Just the kind of perfect football day to start the NFL season on.  Kickoff sometime around 17:30 pacific time and both the Packers and Seahawks are well prepared to battle it out on the turf at Centurylink Stadium.  As usual the Seattle Crowd is expected to be in full force and LOUD!  But even with the homefield advantage I would expect the game to be hard fought and certainly not a runaway for either side.

As to my prediction for a winner... could go either way.  But unless one or the other team gets a serious jump early on, the second half will be when all the action will be after they get a feel for each other's style of play.  Naturally I'm going to have to vote for the Hawks by about 3 points.

It is a tune by Mindless Self indulgence.... We must assume that the question (implied) is if anyone knows a source of the Tabs or ?? for other than Bass.

I looked around and was only able to locate the Bass Tabs as well.

Seems to me that one of those fancy embroidered ones was the ***** that had the thin leather ends that was always coming apart.  Cloth or synthetic webbing is my preference as they don't slide and I kinda like the neck at a higher angle mostly like classical.... easier on the old carpal tunnels.

But I kinda like Zurf's suggestion..... road trip to a leather shop!!!  Nothin' like the smell of fresh saddle leather to bring back memories of younger days....

Hats, boots and a dashboard littered with empty "Cope" cans.... Cowboy at heart.

Well David, if you gotta stand a strap is essential.  personally (playing an Ovation round-backed-guitar-shaped-eel-slick...) one is a must have tool in the arsenal.

Something at least 2 inches wide so it don't cut into your shoulder, and long enough to adjust to a comfortable stance.  Like buying a belt, you can get as spendy as you can afford, and fancy or simple, but either will still hold up yer trousers.  Just make sure that the ends that fit over the buttons are fairly heavy or they might unbutton automatically and leave you juggling instead of playing.

Final Score was 45-0  Stanford on top.

Being in a College town we kind of keep up on football.... much like the stereotypical midwestern small-town supporting the local high school team.

That said I'm more of a Soccer Fan myself..... Portland Timbers!!!
