I am almost sure Denver is super bowl bound. Russ the pacis rebuilding good. I hope I can get the Miss. game here next sat to see them play.

I agree they look really good, Time will tell if the Packers can keep going at a high level Detroit looks to give them an argument in there division Chicago and Minnesota have a real uphill fight for a wild card. Arizona and San Diego are playing very well Seattle needs to get on track again if they are going to challenge the division, the 49s aint out of it yet there a good team smile

I thought the Packers played a very well balanced attack with very few penalty's the defense was relentless hopefully they will carry that momentum to New Orleans next week and rest on a bye. I watched the 49er Bronco game Payton could not be stopped and the defense had an answer to Kaapernik. I didn't see the Seahawk game only highlights especially the fake punt return Chicago did it to Green bay and it would have worked but for a holding penalty smile

Sooooo... When is delivery day, so that the rest of us mods can be sure to cover for you while you are off?  Lol!  No doubt we will get a good review and some vids!  Congrats Russell!!  Auto tune sounds like a pretty neat feature!

I have not received a shipping verification since it was done over the weekend I think Monday it will be shipped, "O yeah there will be some videos" the Gforce auto tune not only tunes it to standard but several popular tunings and back with the push of a button that is way cool smile

Possibly for the right price I installed Sperzel tuners but I still have the original Douglass tuners and the Stetsbar Pro Trem

I'm in the same boat. Never had a solid body so that's what did it for me also.

Took one look and fell in love then I discovered all the innovations Gibson installed and was impressed enough to get it on the spot smile

It has a cool feature Amy auto tune all you do is stum it and push a button to get several different tunings standard open D or whatever smile

Did you go with the "Deluxe" or the "Studio"? My own preference would have been the Studio just to get the '57 Classic humbuckers with the coil-tapping feature. The '57s are (IMHO) the best pickups Gibson has on the market. I don't know what their Minis sound like. Another option might have been the Epiphone Les Paul "Tribute" Plus with '57s, which sells for under $1,000:

What ever you get, Russell, I know you'll be able to make talk & sing. Congratulations!

I got the Deluxe with auto tune I like the studio but I like the new coils and if I want my Stetsbar trem will dovetail nicely and thanks for the nice words smile

Yes it looks like they have most of the bugs worked out and at 5 and 1 they lead the division, great game and only the 2nd home loss by the Seahawks in the last 4 years.

I certainly like the idea of free big_smile but would the 2 systems be compatible? Like I said, he has already gone through the learning curve of  Mixcraft. He's been using it for a couple years so I want to be sure whatever I use will work when I send him files. For all I know, all the different systems may work together but I don't know that to be a fact.

It really doesn't matter what type of software program he is running as long as the files your sending are mp3 or wav these are standard files recognized by any software program the mp3 is smaller then the wav file and more popular for downloads wav formats are better for burning a cd but mp3 files are ok.

Hi Russell,

Regardless of how a chord is voiced, the root can not stop being the root of the chord. The root can be the lowest note in the voicing, the highest, or anywhere between... the root can even be omitted; but the root can never be a third, fifth, seventh, etc; nor can a root be a bR or #R as one might see a b3 or #11; nor can there be any more or less than one root per chord. If one were to re-harmonize a progression (e.g. Dmi7-Db7-Cmaj7 instead of Dmi7-G7-Cmaj7), they would in fact be exchanging one chord for another - each with respective unalterable roots.

That is admittedly a very brief and direct explanation, so please let me know if you would like further elaboration and in what way.

All the best,
Lee

Lee your statement "the root can never change" is incorrect altered chords change the root because you can arrange the notes or intervals in several different forms C E G could also be expressed as  E G C OR G C E this more common in chords like 11s or 13ths 9ths but simple triad can be change to follow a leading tone like choir arrangements
