Hi All
No Vocals for this one just an instrumental.
The boring bit..
I based it on a classical piece just can't think of the composer or title so annoying (to me that is)
It's very laid back and restful and has a sorta impressionist feel about it hence the Monet masterpiece "Water Lillies" conection.
See what you think......
Thanks for reading/listening

I think I'll have some of my own songs played.
It sorta like a captured audience and no one's going to say that one was real cra..... well not there anyway
I only hope that can I look down or up and see the reaction....

Hi ashisu84
In my experience there very little you can do. Blisters and pain is all part of the journey my friend.
People will give you advice but it all comes down to sticking at it.
It does get better and you will get your callouses and the journey continues.
Just grin and bear it.....:) and welcome to Chordie

Re: Tips for playing without picks (warning mp3 link if you dare) (9 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Hey JustDeb
First don't beat yourself up about it we all started somewhere.
Sounds to me like your using an open mic here to record? Not the best way of getting your guitar track down lots of background noise and such.
Even the best guitarist down sound so hot through an open mic recorded.
If you got an electro acoustic then find some way to plug your guitar directly into the PC.
The Audacity program is good I've used it alot on all my songs and is free to download.
Your playing is ok for a newbie finding there way just gotta work on it.
Good Luck

Tough to sound like Donald Fagan. He's got his own style. So, play the song but bring your style to it. Everything's easy if you know how to do it. It's learning how to do it that's hard.- Zurf

Well done. I think in they look more for personality in these auditions than choice of song and the ability to hold perfect pitch.
As Zurf says pick a song you know well and can perform confidently.
Let your personality do the rest.
and good luck

Re: Quick poll type question (11 replies, posted in Songwriting)
To me melody comes first and foremost in my songs.
Lyrics are secondary and to me hard to produce.
Saying that I've written songs both ways.
But I prefer the freedom of not having to tailor melody to suit lyrics.

Good advice from all as always but it always makes me think of the old adage of " The Cart before the Horse"
Maybe its just me. I think Roger's got it just about right here.

James great lyrics as always.
If you got time checkout Jamstudios at http://www.jamstudio.com/Studio/index.htm you can lay down a simple chorded rhythm track using Audacity Then sing along using the autoharp etc and see how it goes.
Just a thought.

It's nice to learn. The intro has a neat bass walk a little tricky but taken in slices quite simple.
you can use some so called "cheats" on the barre's playing only three strings and adapt as you go.
Don't stick ridgely to the tabs just use then as guide. Well worth spending time to learn.

It's always hard to present a melody in a sorta DIY tab form on Chordie. Most members here won't have the time or inclination to workout what you have in mind. So they won't comment.
I know as most of my songs have been instrumentals which I present in a finished form ie recorded and put on Myspace for anyone to hear if they are curious enough.
Chords and lyrics are more easy to understand in written form and have a go at and therefore invite more comments.
So get down and record it. I would like to hear it.

The format to chopro (What is used here) is found in the sticky post at the top of the songwriting forum.
Also this website http://webchord.sourceforge.net/ is a good place to try out your song in the correct format.

Hey Phill
Yep just had listen. A nice slow number liked it alot.
It's strange how when your talking over your Welsh accent come's out. Not when you are singing though.
In most of your songs do you use a Chorus pedal. I like the sound have to use mine a bit more.
