Thank you all. To me it sounds really good.
Beamer - I wish you were here to thrash on it to really see what it can do.
It has Seymour Duncan SH1's - a.k.a. Vintage Blues humbuckers. They growl very nicely, but also play so smooth on the lower volume end
Jim
Thank you Graham and Neo!
Phill - yes they have a growl to them - it's going to take me a while to get used to them
Yes Peatle - pretty much why I build them - thinking maybe my kids and grandkids will appreciate them and remember me ![]()
Thanks again guys for the positive feedback!
Jim
Mojo
I quite agree with Peatle
it is Outstanding - got that Texas sound ! Can you either send me the lyrics or post them along with chords ? Really a fantastic song - a plethora of great lines !
I like the one " tried to call back but nobody's home I'll just leave a message for the kids when they're grown " Thanks for sharing Jim
I like the part where he brought the kids on stage.
Not my top choice of music to listen to - but he is a really good performer.
glad to be of service. Love to have you participate a bit more in our forum as well.

If you get to be like JJJ was - your wife would never had noticed !! ![]()
you can never have enough guitars -
Congrats on that pick up !!!
I believe you and Phill could pick up any guitar and make them sound sooooo sweet. Every time I hear someone like you guys here on chordie play it reminds of the line from the Springsteen song Thunder road - "Well, I got this guitar and I learned how to make it talk "
Sure wish I had he talent you folks have.

NGIB = New Guitar I Built
The trim is purple heart wood.
The cherry is from a tree in my back yard
The maple is from the gym floor they tore out of the school where I coach.
Sounds pretty good tome.

Nice job.

Phill

Jim

Remember - I am a dunce when it comes to music

wow that looks beautiful Richard !
Grey Saturday - perfect description !
It could've been Grey November for me.
Today I have a funeral of a friend to attend ( 4th one in November for me including my brother's)
the sky is Grey - weather forecast is 15" of Snow starting tonight through Monday am.
However with that being said.....
I stood outside last night from 4:30 - 7:45 in 28 degree weather waiting for Santa's arrival , parade and visit to Santa's shop
with my Grandkids and family ( which BTW was totally worth it! ) After all of that my grandson who is almost 4 in the car on the way home says, "Mommy and Daddy what did you tell Santa that you wanted for Christmas ? " It was so heart warming - makes you forget about the negative and realize that there is still so much good in our lives.
I am so grateful for my family and my friends- even the ones I've never met in person here on chordie
Phill
I have noticed the number of posts on here have dropped significantly. I guess everyone is busy, has other more important stuff going on, or for some reason is unable to post anymore. Whatever the case........ I miss the videos by Russell and the great songs by Mojo, the unbelievably cool insights of Strummerboy Bill, all the great songs and posts of our New Zealand Family - the golden voice of Jan, and the greatest stories and historical insights of Peatle ), JJJ's interesting stories, Beamer's open heart songs and Metalized everything
,Zurf's wildlife adventures and musical journey's, Badeye's always good stuff, Roger G's terrific perspectives, UJB and BGD, Easybeat and Dirty Ed, NEO, CTECH, Doug, Jets60 and of course Mekidsmom (Amy). My apologies if (and I know I must have) I have left someone out !
Happy Holiday season to everyone and may your GREY SATURDAY's turn sunny ! ![]()

This is absolutely fantastic !
What a find !
Ruthie has a great voice and the music is superb.
I urge all of you to check out the song Walk On that CG listed above..... @ about 2:50 - check out her voice ---- I would challenge any of the pop stars of today to match it ! Great song at the Dallas Music festival. She seems so down to Earth and just in love with playing music - terrific performer.
The song Lord Remember Me is one of the best blues / gospel songs I've ever heard- what passion and emotion in that performance.
Thanks for another incredulous Friday blues morning.
I really appreciate what you do !
Jim
Phill
I will play a couple of my songs for the seniors in my psychology class, but I don't share them to general population.
Your versions seem to be the most popular and the one Graham did called girlfriends.
They always want to know how I know a guy from Wales
!
I am pretty protective of my musical anonymity.
If I was a performer and could sing it I'm sure I would have a different perspective.
Great topic that has many angles.
I thought maybe Strummerboy Bill would write something on this one !!
Since today is Thanksgiving in America today, I will take the opportunity to thank all my chordie friends for their friendship, kindness, support and generosity over the past few years. It is a wonderful group of people here.
Best wishes to you as we enter the holiday season - I hope you and Ann have a safe, healthy, and enjoyable one.
Jim
as you all know, I am not a musician, but I do go on stage quite a few times as a high school coach.
I find it very similar - all the accolades from fans and friends after games - and then the reality of getting up to teach the next morning or going out to shovel snow, mowing the grass or picking up the dog poop in the yard ! ( I wonder if McCartney or Jagger ever had to do that ?
)
It's still a great ride and I wouldn't trade it away. I'm just thankful for the opportunity.
I would love to play a gig sometime - only thing I'm lacking is good guitar playing and a singing voice. Until that happens, I'll just listen to all my friends on chordie !!
This was an old song that I had written.... I re-wrote it by changing the lyrics and the chords - Gave it a new title.
Hope you Like it.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of the Americans on here ! ![]()

Good one CG
I really liked the song won't be coming home.
Thanks for continuing the Friday Blues tradition!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family

CG
Nice find ! I really got into a few of these songs this morning.
Love the passion he plays and sings with ( especially in "It's still rainin ") - makes every word believable - so essential to the blues.
Thanks for sharing - got my weekend off to a great start !
Jim
Graham
OMG THat looks like so much fun. I wish I could sing and play - I think i'd have a blast.
Thae dancer was actually pretty interesting
That is a cool song for sure, I can see why it was the mantra !
