You don't owe me anything my friend, quite the contrary, I'd say. I'd love to see the Thursday afternoon gig if I can get off work. Regardless, lets hook up Thursday night and go see Toney (southpaw) at his standing Thursday night gig at Jimmy Guana's on Indian Rocks Beach(401 2nd St). Bring your tu8ba, I'll bring a guitar and maybe we can make a jam session out of it.
Your Friday gig is an 1-1/2 drive, but hell - you drove a lot more than that to jam with me, so I am going to do my best to check that out too. Sounds like a bar that I would enjoy.
Looking forward to seeing you again and seeing Reno live for the first time. I have a feeling all of his/your gigs are great time.
Let me know where you are staying the evening of 4/29. I plan on going to the east coast of Fla on 4/30, so maybe I'll get a hotel there - may give us another opportunity to strum a few tunes together.

Scotty McCreery is a local All-American kid whose dad is a NC State Grad I know from another forum. He is not very diverse, but is fantastic in what he does (deep, country vocals). Most important, he truly is the god-lovin', awe-shucks kind of kid you see on TV. He'll be a fine American whether or not he is an Idol and I get the feeling he is keeping the fame in perspective.
That said - If Scotty weren't in it, I wouldn't be paying any attention.

Roger - It would be awesome to be able to jam with you and other chordians that are "across the pond". Someone more tech knowledgeable than me should be able to arrange a skype session or some such thing that would allow us to have a virtual jam. Pix?, Amy? anybody else have the knowledge to set up a world wide chordie jam session?

I was just thinking how lucky I am and what a fantastic group I have met here on chordie. I have had the opportunity to meet / play with: Guitarpix (Chris), Zurf (Zurf) Tubatooter (Dennis), and Southpaw (Toney) - so much talent, many years of professional experience and little old beginner like me has been able to spend some quality time jamming along with these folks - Thats what makes Chordie GREAT!

And we wound up jammin' all afternoon!
Just returned from an awesome afternoon of playing, eating and sippin' at the famous Toney Hall's house. Let me say, he is as gracious a host as he is a talented musician. Although his talent is multiple times greater than mine, he allowed me to play some tunes and was gracious with his tips and pointers. He served a nice filet mignon and grilled asparagus for lunch, several rum and gingers, playing guitar with a friend on a beautiful Florida Sunday afternoon - It doesn't get much better than that.
If any of you chordians are ever in the Tampa / St. Pete area, do yourselves a favor and make sure to check out one of Toney's shows. You won't find a more diverse, talented and friendly musician, I assure you. I am lucky to know him and call him a friend.

I believe most folks around here have already seen my toy. With my recent move to Florida, I am concerned how the salt air might effect her, so I have decided to sell her to my brother. At least she'll be in the family and I'll be able to see / drive her on visits.
A newer convertible will be on my shopping list in the near future

Tubatooter - It was just announced that Pat Dailey is playing at a bar in Tampa this coming Saturday, 3/19. I plan on going. If you've got the hankering for another drive, I got a bed for ya in St. Pete. It's a 21 and over show, so bring a fake I.D.
