I will make my comeback, I really don't know what happened to me. I felt so bad, but this might not cause or determine some "real impulsive stupid decisions". I know that it isn't a competion at all, but I was so disappointed, NOTHING TO DO WITH SONGS!!!!, but personal. I have a "sticky" leg, meaning that my in the mean time famous left leg, doesn't move a lot of times after sitting for a certain time in the same position. THERE is NOT 1 MUSCLE that moves, resulting in falling down.
It happened last week on Wednesday, being really "projected" over a small table, in front of my mother, the side of that table being really projected, well everything was still standing there like before, the other side, thick glass broken. It looked like a cartoon, or even Jackie Chan could not repeat this. This event was too much. I can't barely move, "pain was all around", but the worst thing are the consequences, still now ANXIETY, afraid to sit longer than 20 minutes. I know, I avoid social contacts and I am very scared. I try to put everything back on tracks and one one side I hate it to tell these things, on the other hand I need to tell this. YOU ALL ARE TRUE FRIENDS, and if it wasn't thanks to chordie, I don't know what I should do. It looks "INFANTILE" but it isn't really like that. I really hope to be able sooner or later to meet you in person, and I'm really looking forward. Writing about this, is a big relieve for me. I have also a purpose again, here, to go on. YOU are the cure, I mean it. I can't help it that I write this, you are my social life, and since I CAN'T accept my situation, I try to adapt. Let's just say, I'm living in the dark the last days, I will find back the light, and you are all so great. I need to let it go, and promess: I try to change some issuess.
You are all so great, I have a huge respect for all of you

Topic: INSPIRED BY JCELLINI: PHOTO'S OF YOUR GUITARS (5 replies, posted in Acoustic)
As the title suggests, thanks to all the f***g porn "lovers" we miss indeed a opportunity, to show guitars we love, use and play.
So in my answer on JCELLINI's question, suggestion it should be really great to see WHAT GUITAR, or brand you use to play.
IS THIS, completely hypothetical,
- 1) Worth to "create" a website like I used as answer, and EXAMPLE www.chordieguitarpics.com
I am not at all a PC genious, I even don't know how to make a website, but this is a real interesting idea.
- 2) I can't give an answer about how and what, also about the cost, how much money it takes to create a website like this?
- 3) I'm afraid that we re-create a new opportunity to put "NOT WANTED" material, like porn, unless there is a kind of system that recognises names, I really don't know. There are dating sites where you register, upload pictures and only 1 day later they are approved and visible. They use this method to delete inappropriate pictures.
Maybe some on line stores will help us as sponsors.
So what is your opinion of this great idea from JCELLINI ???

Re: show us your guitar (23 replies, posted in Acoustic)
This is a very interesting topic. We all like to know what instrument you play and share ideas and pictures.
I am not a computer wizard, but can one of the many chordians create an extra website, like
www.chordieguitarspics.com to name a title for a website. A website where every member can show the guitar or guitars he/she wants to show? I will use this as topic title, inspired by jcellini.
A WEIRD THING = the shape of a normal guitar is quit similar to the shape of a woman's body

Re: How To Solo (14 replies, posted in Electric)
Cytania, at first sight it looks complicated to me.
I don't know in which category I belong.
The way, or my style to play guitar, acoustic and/or electric is more strumming, but certainly not somewhere in a dark corner on stage, just playing rhythm. (Real rhythm guitarists are players like the late TOM FOGERTY, who started with the band later famous as CCR, or DAVID KNOPFLER). I have 2 CCR live CD's: one with the four of them, and another LIVE IN EUROPE, without TOM. If you listen carefully, you can hear the "rhythm guitar", most "soft" strumming.
So, I play in fact a kind of rhythm, but I need to add always something EXTRA, riffs, licks, mini solos (5-10 seconds), I start using more and more some fingerpicking and TO ADD AN EXTRA VALUE, like playing in that way, that most of the people recognise immediately the melody. So I am not at all a solo guitarist, it is rhythmic, using licks, riffs, little solos, and playing in such a way that it sounds melodic. I hear a lot that this is more similar to a lead guitarist, but honestly I don't know the category I'm in.

NO SONGS.
Just taking my acoustic, playing eyes pointed to infinity, and strumming, even some finger picking. Electric guitar room is even closed.

Re: The exit of the beep song (13 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Don't know if this exists. I have plenty of tunes, even really catchy tunes, but this is for me TODAY not longer THE place to post a song.
- takes a lot of time
- I need to use less difficult chords
- AND I can't compete with the rest of you, so maybe later.
- I felt again last week quit spectacular and since that day, I can't almost do nothing. THE PAIN IS TOO BAD. Lost my sense of humour, can't stay right, even using my crouches, resulting in agaion a terrible pain in the articulation between my both thumbs and second finger. No stability, and I even don't leave my house since a few days. It's too risky. I will end up again in hospital probably and I even like to delete all my songs, I am not longer interested in posting songs, I can't think normal, I have a high tolerance limit, but I can't go on with my life like the last couple of days. My lyrics suck, they are already MELANCHOLIC, I just skip this "songwriting" forum.

I was and am still a fan of PINK FLOYD, LED ZEPPELIN, CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL, DEEP PURPLE, and the OLD FLEETWOOD MAC, with Peter Greeb. Also QUEEN is high on my list.
Add a lot of others, Beatles, The Who, Stones, and also music produced now

Re: ?????? !!!!!!!!!!! ?????????? (8 replies, posted in Electric)
Thanks, and what about bridge, neck, is this important for playing your electric? I read sometimes that someone who buys a guitar, brigs it back to the music store, and change "the position" of the bridge.
Why is this done, does it affect in a positive way your "sound"?

Topic: The exit of the beep song (13 replies, posted in Songwriting)
I deleted this song, because of too stupid.
- I am definitely not a song writer and it takes too much time to write and to post it.
- I had the melody, lyrics came later.
- Writing proper lyrics, it takes me 1 hour up to 3 hours
- Seeing my song, THE LYRICS = I am ashamed and it takes me an extra 30 minutes to correct words and chords.
- I prefer too read all the songs and lyrics, and this helps me a lot.
- I am also real busy to figure out how my BOSS BR 600 works, hoping that I can finally post a
song, without lyrics.
I STILL HAVE A LOT OF SONGS? BUT IT'S TOO COMPLICATED to translate, better to write a proper
song in WORD, to copy it and to post a song.

Topic: ?????? !!!!!!!!!!! ?????????? (8 replies, posted in Electric)
I deleted the previous topic, because of no response, probably due to a bad written topic.
ABOUT TAKING CARE FOR YOUR GUITAR
This topic had a purpose and could maybe provide information for a lot of CHORDIANS.
ELECTRIC GUITARS:
- How to clean it , NOT ONLY THE OUTSIDE, but the INSIDE TOO.
- Maintenance
- Neck Adjustment or Truss Rod Adjustment
- Bridge adjustment
- Pickup Height Adjustment
WHEN IS THIS REQUIRED?
- Having 2 guitars without a cover on the humbuckers. In my case what can I do:
- A Gibson SG menace, faded, a fantastic sound as
- A gibson Flying V, faded worn cherry and a decent price = $699.00
- A Gibson SG menace price = $799.99
The pick-ups of those guitars are "naked", close to strings and if you touch the pick-ups, they move.
Should a cover be useful, to protect the pick-ups?

Re: EVOLUTION (2 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
About these "cliché" situations, a man didn't change a lot. 50 - 100 years ago, at least here in Belgium, you had a "bar" every 3 houses. Also people worked about 12 hours a day.
Most of these men, married a girl from the regio where they lived. My grandfather (who was mayor for 50 years) told that he and his brother, somewhere in the early 20ties, where going to another village, maybe 5 miles from where they lived, and they started dancing with a local "beauty", a fight was guaranteed.
A typical reaction, probably existing since long, was: trouble at home = joining almost every social event, like soccer, church (after church, playing cards with friends) coming home with a very light head, and a leave-me-alone attitude. The women, having back then a lot of children depended on the money father earned. Every week he gave his money to his wife, who kept all bills and accounts. Today, to have a more or less decent life, you have to go both working.

Hi Mike
I listened to the song "jealousy" did you record this all by yourself? Using all features you find in Cubase?
I play since years and have since 3 months a BOSS BR 600, still complicated. But I hope to put soon a song on myspace. Do I need an extra software to create MORE EFFECTS, like as if there are 5 different guitars playing?

Graçias GRINGO, I am at least 4-5 hours on line. Me THE PROTOTYPE OF A NIGHT MAN, (starting to LIVE from 19.00h until 01.00-02.00 at night) would choke while laughing, when people would ask me to go to sleep between 21.15 and 21.45h. Well since 2 months I go early to bed, I'm used to it now, and I wake up (more and more) between 05.30 & 06.30 AND FEELING A LOT BETTER.
My new job is now here at Chordie's, I have plenty of time, and getting paid very well ( NO, NOT CHORDIE) for doing nothing and suffering. BUT PLEASE GIVE ME BACK MY HEALTH!!!!.
I will use it (after April, because everything will be paid) to pay a ticket for someone to return to the USA.

Re: ABOUT NAMES (11 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Well Rebel, I thought that this would be the answer. SO IN THE USA, YOU GET YOUR HUSBANDS LAST NAME. Is this the law? I also noticed that people like Doctors, Policemen, and many more, don't like to be called by their name, but by their title.
In Belgium, we are "more familiar" and we use given names to talk. Also (movies again) what is so important about a FIRST DATE? If you are here, and we would go to a discotheque, depending on your attitude (not entering an already dark place, wearing sunglasses) but they will spot you easier, and agree, we have also dates here, but I think the approach is different.
It would be nice to know "the rules" to have a woman or man, the way you conquer her/his heart.

I, and who didn't hear, WHEN I WAS YOUNG IT WAS A LOT BETTER, (GRANDMA & GRANDFATHER)
a classic and "protected expression".
WHAT WAS BETTER???? Maybe social contact.
If you have problems in your marriage, well no more talking. Compared to our grandparents, they managed to live pretty well WOMAN= KITCHEN and MAN=WORK. What is going wrong in our society? When my grandmother told me this in 1985, there were already a lot of changes, but take just the past 15 years: more things changed in a few years compared to the changes in the past 100 years.
I can't follow it, I read somewhere that NOKIA produces 1 different cell phone every month.
I had one of the first cell phones (in fact all new items, I NEEDED to have them), very expensive, and very bad coonections.
In 5 years: an ordinary TV == plasma, LCD, the good old video == DVD now Blue Ray or HDD.
A cell phone 1000 different phones. A camera == digital, a MP3 player, bigger and faster SD or CF cards. Incredible: iPHONE has it all, and here a NOKIA N95 (check it: 5 MPixels camera, 8 Gb memory, GPS, enough memory to put 2000 songs, and you can still expand this memory. The greatest problem is YOU WANT IT ALL, an the younger generation has even forgotten what a cell phone is: to call someone or to answer a call.
10 years ago, recording songs: very expensive, big room needed. TODAY: if you are very good in working with all the POCKET studios, like a BOSS BR 600, you can create your own song, all included, mistakes, singing bad --> finished, and put it on myspace and youtube. There are artists who became big using this. Will bands will be replaced by computers?
TOO much to mention, but good for a discussion

Topic: DISCO KILLED THE SEVENTIES (9 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
Looking back in the past, I believe that the 7ties were a decade with a lot of different styles.
Some styles still have a great repercussion on today's music.
I am listening to a song, 1972 and this is disco, Billboard Top 100 1972 (I have almost every year 100 songs/year), if you like this, I don't know if it is possible to send it, whatever, here is another song by Marvin Gaye: mercy, mercy me.
What styles in 7ties?
- Rock
- Pop
- GLITTER ROCK, GLAM ROCK (T-REX, MUD, THE SWEET, SLADE, even the ROLLING STONES)
- Funk
- Punk
- Hardrock (about metal I don't know)
- Disco
Probably a lot more.
What is YOUR opinion about this phenomenon? I compared it with Video killed the radiostar as title

Sometimes I am really surprised, like KEITH RICHARDS playing bass guitar, or to see Paul McCartney playing acoustic.
- IS IT DIFFICULT when you use to play for years on a "regular 6 string guitar" to try playing a bass guitar, AND/OR a bass guitar player switching to a normal guitar.
My opinion is that guitar players can play a lot easier bass guitar.

-2) AS newborn babies, our parents are oh so happy when their little baby is farting and pooping. After surgical intervention: same question did you.. or not...
About strange facts: yesterday, I read in a magazine that if someone is caught when "masturbating" or did I had to write mas**b**g, can be punished by death-penalty.

Topic: TYPICAL JAZZ AND BLUES GUITARS: THE BEST BRAND? (4 replies, posted in Electric)
- I was surfing again, and this time I found some guitars, hollowbodies. I own 1 hollowbody: an Epihone Sheraton, also quit expensive.
Some questions:
- An Epiphone Sheraton versus Gibson 335, I know that my Sheraton plays great, but versus an amp, a lot of disturbing feedback, if used on my Fender Cybertwin, less on my 100W acoustic Marshall amp.
I never got the opportunity, because my solid body obsession, to compare it with A Gibson ES 335, a Gibson ES-345. What's the difference between those two?
an Ibanez George Benson.
I found some brands, completely new for me, like STROUP guitars, they look great.
Can we add in this list: GRETSCH? RICKENBACKER?
- I found information, concerning EPIPHONE. They seem to have amazing hollowbodies. Guitars who are, except from my Sheraton, really good looking. If the sound is equal to the looks, waw.
WHO CAN HELP ME HERE?:
- EPIPHONE = (FIRST what are Epiphone Dot Studio guitars, and what about the sound) Sheraton, Epiphone Elitist 1963 ES-335 Dot Electric Guitar, an Emperor (I noticed already laminated Top, Sides and Back) Epiphone Revolution Casino Electric Guitar (2550$) and 2 single coils. There are a lot more, even looking as an acoustic guitar, thick body, and a lot more other hollowbodies.
WHO HAS EXPERIENCE WITH THESE HOLLOWBODIES EPIPHONE BRANDS, GIBSON, IBANEZ and a lot of other hollowbody brands??

Re: OPINION ABOUT MUSIC STORE SONGS-NOISE (6 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Zurf, where do you live in the USA?
Since I have so much time, I go to a guitar store on a day in a week. The pre-accident period, I had to go in a weekend, and now I go in the weekend when there are bargains, like an item you have to buy, but 15% lower in price.
10 drummers, 20 guitar players...
I also noticed that the people playing solos in the store, are all young, and with mum and dad, holding their hands on their ears.
ABOUT THOSE YOUNGSTERS, IS IT TO SHOW look-how-good-I-am attitude?
Sometimes you can see and here a man in his 4ties, playing blues AND/OR jazz, using a Gibson 335, or a George Benson Ibanez GB10, an Epiphone. I don't know what guitar he finally bought, but he was a fantastic player, soon surrounded by 10 people

Re: FOLLOWING LESSONS TO IMPROVE YOUR GUITAR SKILLS (5 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Thanks again Bone and Mixter102
This a loud and clear answer. There is one problem, he has to come to my place.
Since I play almost every week with one of my best friends, he learned me a lot. He's a drummer, studio work and played in 2 bands as drummer, and is also a real good guitar player. He learned me a lot, like playing with your right hand in a relax way, I blocked my wrist and so it came from my right arm. Rhythm has been always a problem. So this friend, a KORG PANDORA PX 4D for electric guitar, did great jobs. This results in the fact that I play a lot better, my knowledge of chords is real good and switching chords = very fast. The KORG has a lot on board, also a rhythm section and improved my guitar playing skills in 1 year with 100%.
Chordie became a huge resource of VERY USEFUL information: topics/answers. Playing along with a CD, it is a challenge, and now it takes me 20 seconds to play a-long.
I've been, unfortunately, a kind of LAZY (except for my former occupation), and I've learned so much at the university, later from my patients (A DIFFICULT POINT, BECAUSE ONLY 10% of the MD) by listening and learning. I will probably see what the internet offers. This reaction is really caused by my problem.

Tennessee Strat.
I am glad to read yor answer. Is it misplaced on this site? We had some months now, topics or post answers, sometimes ago. Today, now and then there are still profanity words. take my case: I am paid very well, but IT DESTROYED my social life. Sitting alone here it's impossible to swear, but when I fall on the floor due to my paralysis in my left leg (my leg isn't turning) I can swear enough for two years.
Isn't there a Big difference between the words you use? Like sh** or damned and more.. and the other real nasty words like piece of s*** (this is already PERSONAL. If they use words like that, IT IS A PERSONAL ATTACK. Also the movement you ( a lot of us has done this) show when a car is really giving trouble, the famous and world wide knowed sign = THE MIDDLE FINGER. I know from my brother who lives and works in DUBAI, if the police notice that finger ===> jail. He did this and was followed by a Arab until he parked his car. He told them that this was done everyday by everyone in Belgium, an apologie was enough and the Arab disappeared.
- what about rappers like 50 cent Eminem, it almost looks like poetry.
- and yes: what in Prison?
If you wrote a song with "dirty" words, are this words replaced by beeps? I love to write a song= the beep song

Re: $600, $1,200, or $2,400 Acoustic?? Need Help! (33 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Yes indeed, all these artists, who can afford 50 very, very expensive guitars, well they receive an own model, or guitars for free, endorsement.
I own 12 acoustics, Martins and Gibsons, so I am used to their sound and because I am so spoiled it is more difficult to buy a guitar like an Epiphone EJ-200 similar to a Gibson SJ-200 (which I have)
A problem, often neglected is buying a 2000$ Gibson and play it, the price will not drop. If you want a high priced guitar I am 100% convinced that you would love the sound. I noticed that even the Big BRANDS, do have cheaper models, like Martin D-1.
suggestion: listen to different brands on youtube, and go to a store and try the big 3: Gibson, Martin, Taylor, followed by other brands as Blueridge, Takamine, Epiphone.
