A few more:
Hey farmer farmer, put away that D.D.T. now. Give me spots on my apples but leave me the birds and the bees - Joni Mitchell
You know the preacher likes the cold. He knows I'm gonna stay - Mamas and The Papas
Well I told my congress man and he said, quote: "I'd like to help you son but you're too young to vote" - Eddie Cochran
Yep - I'm pulling for the Packers too. I was hoping the Jets would beat the Steelers though. I enjoyed Rex's trash talk and ya gotta like a guy with a hot footed wife over a rapist QB. At least the Jets made in interesting in the 4th quarter. Go Packers!
The best rock lyric ever - But he cant be a man cos he doesnt smoke the same cigarettes as me - Jagger / Richards
Bring a video camera so we can witness the fun! Have a great time.
Happy Blues Friday!

Dudes - this thread is well over 3 years old and the OP hasn't posted since 2007. My guess is that he found the song he was looking for. Lets let the thread die.
Almost 18 months and the package is still on the move! Roger to Amy added roughly 3,500 miles for a total of 82,902. Map is updated:

Amy - give us a clue - is the package going to a new recipient? Looking forward to seeing the pics of Picks

The guitar has a nice neck, low action, is super easy to fret and the pickups sound like Eric Clapton's Strat I heard on u-Tube. This is a nice guitar for a beginner. It is easy to play and sounds great. I haven't compared it with a $4,000 Strat but I think we got a good deal.

There goes your rhythm section! Looking forward to seeing the Cas-o shredding vids!

cj-5 wrote:What I found I like about Cordie, is you get to hear from others who are looking for the same thing you are, so mostly, you can trust what's being said. I'm still looking for a good set of DVD's. I know there out there somewhere. Until then I'll keep practicing what I already know and pickup what I can from others on Cordie.
Have a good day!
Although I have never used them, Homespun has a good reputation for instructional CD's / DVD's in the acoustic guitar arena at least. You may want to check them out.

New CD due out 1/18 - Old time blues - Sounds awesome, got it pre-ordered.
Gregg Allman's first solo album in 14 years was produced by T Bone Burnett and features 11 covers of songs from legendary bluesmen Muddy Waters, Otis Rush, B.B. King, Bobby Bland, Sleepy John Estes, and many more, PLUS an original song written by Gregg and the Allman Brothers' Warren Haynes called "Just Another Rider." Gregg's backing band on the album includes Dr. John on piano, Doyle Bramhall II on guitar, and the incomparable rhythm section of bassist Dennis Crouch and drummer Jay Bellerose (from Robert Plant and Alison Krauss's multiple Grammy-winning `Raising Sand' album).

I tried the Claude Johnson stuff but found that to be a mistake. Now I'm very skeptical about buying any beginner series off the internet.
Any suggestions on a (REAL/PROVEN) beginner course I can look into without getting burned?
Welcome to chordie cj-5. Here's an often recommended beginners course that is free!

I'm just bumping this because I think it is a great learning tool and am a little surprised it didn't get a better response. Check the link folks - I am sure it will be helpful to most of us!

Congrats to Canada! I only watched about 10 mins each of the 1st and 2nd, but what I saw was some fast paced, up and down hockey. Great fun to watch. Now go beat the Russkies for the Gold!
I'd like to watch, but I don't believe it is televised here in the Southern US - at least not on basic cable. I'll see if I can find an internet feed to watch. It's gonna be one of those nights where there are 3 sporting events that I want to watch all playing at the same time. Go Va Tech, Hurricanes and USA!!
Thats awesome Pix - Like I said, I need practice. I'm OK on the 5th and 6th strings, but need to think about 2,3,4.
Try master level - it gets quite a bit more challenging.
Toots - I hope to have 1/2 your energy when I am your age. Heck, I wish I had 1/2 your energy now. You are a rockin' grandpa - keep it up.
