Russell you are a GOD.
I have had this problem for over a year thinking that I could do nothing about it, after your input I went to my local Maplins, and for £2.29 got a Y conector, now I can play my guitar through the Boss through the Amp, and it sounds cool. THANK YOU.

Riddler thank you and yes I use the batteries when playing outside my home

Thanks to you both TonyBlue

Hi Rusell
Simply put yes,
I do have a problem that as the conections to the Boss are the small ones, if I use a conector (large to small)
I seem to have a vloume drop and so I have to increse the levels to compensate. I am looking to find a cable that has both ends right.
Hope you can help

Hi Steve,
Cool to hear from you,
I play mainly in Colwyn Bay at a recording studio called T.A.P.E. there are only four of us and two would like to form a group and split from the less adventurious.  There aim is to become good enough to go busking but they don't think it is right to take money from people, to me this defeats the object.
I also play in residential homes, they love it and I make £20 to £30 for an hour, but it has a limited life as you cannot keep going back.
Between the two of us we have a lot of holiday camps, and I think, we could make a small living from playing them, if we could find out how to get into them.
I play both eletric and accoustic guitar and can sing a bit, I also write songs.
I play blues rock and slow stuff, but I am very open to all styles.
If you are interested, please let me know and we can arrange to meet somewhere between the two of us.
Regards TonyBlue

Not strickly recording but I record onto my Boss micro which produces MP3.  I want to use this to play along side me as a backing track, at the monent  I am converting it to CD but I would like to use the Boss driect as it gives me more control.
But I cannot find a way to play it through a Amp.  It makes a loud buzzing noise, it plays well through my stereo but I would look a fool luging a stereo around.
Anyone have any suggestions please.
PS I only want to use this systen when playing for family and friends

Thank you both.  I have been thinking about just playing alone in the park to see if I can provoke a reaction, and even starting busking, but the wife dont like it as she thinks I am just begging in the streets.
I also will go to a few "open Mic" nights to see what is going on
Cheers TonyBlue

The guitar plays through the boss into a standered amp. I just would like a small amp without going to the expence of a Roland Cube

have a Micro Boss BR, the unit can save MP3 files that you have recorded.  It would be cool to have a small battery amp so I could use it to play backing tracks when jamming or busking.
I thought that a old tape player (boom box) would be ideal, but I'm dammed if I can find one to allow a MP3 conection.
anyone got any suggestions.

Cheers Russell
I have downloaded all your files and found them very helpful.  Alas I now know that if I turn off the computer the files are lost.
I will starting from tomorrow to download just one file and make notes as I need them
Once again thank you very much

I use a Boss micro br recorder, which I love, but it has some limmitations, ie the drum unit is off or on all the time.

I have a lap top and wonder just what I would need to use a computer as a recording studio.

how fast
how much memory
what cards
what conections
what software (I have downloaded Audacity, but in truth I don't understand it)
what do I need to learn (technically)

Thanks

the pentatnoic (blues) scale is the king of solos.

just learn the patterns and you can play in the key.

In my mind nothing is perfect all the time, but my favorite guitar cost me £22 off E-Bay, it is a 18 year old Ninja Warrior that I have compleatly rebilt to suit me and my playing style.
So find one with good wood bits and change it to suit you.

Hi,  I have a Boss Micro BR, but I don't know the "Tascam".
The boss is a great bit of kit, but I use it more for the recording side of it,  But it has a MP3 trainer so you can play along.
If you want more information please ask.

Oh come on, there must be someone in North Wales who want to play.

What can I offer you ??????
1. You will better looking than me.
2. You will be my new best friend.
3. I will constantly tell you how good you are.
4. I will come to play wherever you want.
5. I will learn how to spell rhythm.

Come on, I know others are looking at this post, give me some hope and send me a post with any offers or ideas.

So far I have tried other music sites, but I like this one the best and I have had a letter up in my local recording studio.

How did you find band members ?

Hi Russell and all of you that have helped me.

THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED.

I bought a battery powered condencer mic for £35 pluged it in and I now can fully hear how bad my voice is (but it sounds lovely to me).
I dout that I will ever reach your understanding of eletronics, but I will read this forum every day and try to offer any help that I can to the wonderful members of this site, I know how good it feels to have other trying to help.

A very big thank you to you all.

I have tried to record using my amps headphone output, did not work, volume far to low.  I should also say that the boss has a small integral mic and this also records to low.
I wonder if I am recording my guitars to loud.  The manual say's record at the highest level without the "over" sign lighting up, I have found that unless I use level 4 (halfway) the whole recording is to low.

I wonder just how far I throw this boss before buying somethig else ?

thanks to you all, you are really the best and most helpfull crowd that I have ever come across.
