if two notes are tied you play the notes one time and hold them for the duration of both as a single tone to put it another way 2 tied 1/4 notes are played as a half note plucking it once, if a descending or acceding group of notes  or mixed notes of equal value are tied this is considered a "Phrase" with no breaks or rests each note is picked once.

Never mess with the registry if your running windows 7 like me then you have to have a disk cleaner program that comes with the accessories use it most likely you either have a lot of programs installed and it just takes a lot of time to boot or you may have tons of temporary folders which can add up to a lot of Megabytes and slow the PC down you can remove them safely by typing in the search bar %temp% these temporary folders are used by your programs to store data but are not vital just right click and high lite all of them by selecting "all" then delete but the disk cleaner will do that for you another possibility is systems restore go back to a earlier time when it was running ok just pick a restore point and it will do the rest

Try this click start in the search box type msconfig this is short for Microsoft configure then press enter a screen well show with several drop down tabs select the startup tap and Skype should be listed if its not checked in the box check it with your mouse then right click on it and select properties this will tell you if its turned on and another thing is not all the programs listed need to be started when you boot up except your anti virus you can speed up your pc by unchecking programs you dont need or use at startup and open them when you want to by double clicking on them

Hi Russell I still have not learned how too play,as I do not have a partner.

dino there is a free chess program called SCID and a website called chessgames.com once you download the program it has tips that can teach you how to play the website has free games to download in a PGN format that the Scid program opens up and by clicking the arrows on your keyboard > it will make the moves in the game but going to the library is the easiest way just get a book for beginners  it will tell you how the pieces move and the object of the game and I can help answer any questions you may have if you want to learn how to play smile

When you have a musician of that caliber, that's the reaction you get. I believe it's called awe.

I dont know about awe I just like what they are doing as far as guitar players I would have to put Jeff Beck and Mark Knophler up a notch but thats just my opinion

Of course I've got to commend the folk at Larrivee Guitars (Vancouver) for the custom 3/4 guitar they made him, as shown on their splash page:

You're right about his voice ... his version is at least as good as Bowie's!

That was interesting to watch someday I would like to tour Gibson or Fender its on my bucket list smile

This is the first time I seen this he really has a nice voice and the video of him in space doing David Bowies song is right on

It was my hope that more members would give a listen to this because I selected a song recorded 57 years ago and gave it a different slant while still retaining its original flavor "oldies" can be given a fresh coat of paint as it were so I ask you to mention this to your friends who want to learn to play guitar or improve I turned 72 October 13th and still practice at least an hour a day sometimes two and I never get tired of learning someting new keeping the mind fresh with new ideas and possibilities is in my opinion the key to happyness smile

I watched the post game interview the pack's coach Mike McCarthy said there was no word on the extent of Rogers injuries that being said it was a tough loss the backup QB had insufficient practice running offense in a real game and it showed this resulted in the defense having to be on the field to long and the Bears took advantage of that like any good team would there backup QB did a great job mainly due to the lack of a pass rush so there is a three way tie in the division I can only hope they will be ready next week don't count them out yet smile
