Me and the kid went at it again.
 sounds good!! (although a little low in volume?)
I enjoy jamming with my boy as well ... but we don't do it as much since he moved from drums to keyboard ...
Thanks, enjoyed that!
Ok, here is a very quick attempt I did this afternoon of ~ Elvira~ . I tend to get a bit too fast in parts (but then I have a bad tendancy to do that at the best of times).

That was great - the song suits the Uke!!!
Ok ... just got done listening to all of your covers neophytte
Thanks for your kind words ...
so far ... a very cool new web design !!!
I agree ...
Elivira was a bit different to how iIusually have heard this song but the beauty of doing covers here is that we can make them to sound however we want, so good for you. Folsom Prison version also a little bit different too but both of these songs you made them your own. Have to agree with what zurf said about the vocals, they could do with being louder or the mic up closer so as not to be out done by the guitar playing.
Proud Mary was the best one I thought because you seemed more confident and it seems like you know it well, so your vocals and guitar style on this cover were good, very enjoyable on this one
Thanks for your kind comments - I hadn't heard of Elvira or Folsom Blues before, which is why they are probably more my take on it than close to the original ... ![]()
I do remember learning Proud Mary from my school days, and it must have sunk in but I've never played it on guitar before ...
Thanks for the comments on the mic - I'll try better next time ...
Cheers
If I had to make one constructive criticism, it would be to either get a mic closer to your mouth or to sing louder. You sing so well, it should be more clearly featured in your recordings.
Thanks for that - I'm trying to use a simplistic recording approach, so it's one microphone plugged into the iPhone, which sits on a tripod, and I have one of those bluetooth "remote shutter" things, so I don't need to keep leaning to the phone to turn the recording on and off ... but with one mic it's sometimes hard to get the 'sweet spot' between balancing voice and guitar - however I'll bring it closer to my mouth next time ![]()
Cheers
Can I also suggest "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen - it's not totally Christmas-y, but I think I can convince my wife to sing this one ![]()

Jambalaya. I forgot the lyric about catching all the fish in the bayou. So...forgive me.
That was pretty good!! I liked the fingerpicking throughout, nice and clean ...
any chance of a video????
+1!
Rich,
Nice job - all of your songs are well done.
The way you played Folsom Prison was quite unique.
An array of guitars as well - liked what appeared to be the pink top guitar on your Beatles version of All my loving that was along side the others on YTHave a great day
Jim
Thanks - that was my wife's "Hello Kitty" guitar ....
I'm not sure of the legalities of it, but if that's a side issue, any PC with a CD dive should be able to read the CD and convert it to an MP3 format - from there it will go directly to SoundCloud ... iTunes will do it on a Mac, there are too many programs to list on the PC side, but I'm sure ImgBurn will do the trick ...
Cheers
I always loved his work!!

Gidday,
I`m always trying new things, this is my attempt @ doing a kids story.
The story is quite good, but when listening to it, I found myself dubious about the amount of echo you've put on ... spoken word needs to be a lot clearer (and it's also probably caused the 'peaks' in the recording) ... looking forward to the next installment of the series ![]()

That looks like an interesting instrument - never seen a nylon string one before!!! It would be a bit too big for my smaller hands, but sounds like it 'matches' a classical guitar sizing from the description in this video - good luck with it, post a video and show us how you tamed it!!
Cheers
I had a 6 string banjo, and tuned it the same as a guitar ...
Cheers
