Well Dino, those kids from New Zealand put up a good fight, but after beating the USA I think there was not enough recovery time before they had to face the formidable Islanders.  Some big beefy fast fellows for sure!  I sure wouldn't want to face more than one of them in a bar fight..... even with back-up!

In the Corps I served with a Sgt. from Samoa.... the nicest guy in the world.  One night he got a little deep in his cups up at the enlisted club, it took 8 MPs to subdue and remove him.  As luck would have it I was on duty and had to go up to the Provost Marshall's Office and retrieve him.  They had him spread eagle against the inside of the cage with leg irons on all four corners (because they didn't have handcuffs big enough to get around his wrists) and I was a bit over 6 foot and 186 pounds,  He was about my height and weighed half again me, stout, could deadlift the back half of a M561 Radio Jeep.  "what's this all about?" I asked, "they wanted me to leave and I wasn't ready to go" he replied.  Anyway I got them to unlock him and we filled out some paperwork and walked back to our little corner of the base.  He got a reprimand and had to write a letter of apology to the club manager, but you know...... everyone gave him a wide berth for a real long time..... especially the MPs!

I did not get too see them play this year,I did last year and they are big fast guys on that team I am surprised they got beat. I enjoyed your story above!!!

Doug you are spot on! I'm spending the time putting together baby furniture, bonding with the 8 year old and playing guitar as time allows.

Hope to catch some of the tournament on TV.

My oldest son (now 33) played full contact rugby throughout High School (tight head prop), and also played one year for Nova Scotia's provincial team, also as a prop. Some goof illegally shoulder-tackled his right leg and his knee was destroyed. Three surgeries later, and it was the end of his rugby career.

Rugby is an awesome game to watch, and with a basic grasp of the rules, the spectator can really appreciate the strategy and grit of a well-coached squad. I wish we had "Sevens" programs years ago, so younger men & women (12 - 15 yrs old) could start playing earlier and learn the game before the heavy contact starts.

Sorry your son got hurt. They will be playing again tomarrow,do you know the seasons?I would like too watch the full team games as well.

Good Morning!   I have noticed that the site has been down quite a bit lately.  At least in the time  blocks that I am usually here spam bashin'.
If it takes more that a few seconds to connect, I visit www.iidrn.com  and check the status.  Usually it will report that "the site is down for everybody", and usually regularly on Friday nights between the hours of midnight and 4 AM GMT (8 PM and Midnight my time).  I assume that is a slack time for Chordie in general, and being worked on in some manner.

Ditto!

Russell's extensible pinky, though impressive, is nothing.  Normtheguitar has an extra set of fingers in his palms.  They retract like cat claws, but they come out when he plays.

Icy hot works good,Russell and I both use it. I also have a arthrites open finger glove that helps alot. You can use an old sock on your hand instead of the glove a tight one with the end cut out.

shaunm I do not have an answer but one of our moderators Russell Harding has been putting new pickups on his and he may see this and help you. He is good at these things.

What a very sweet voice she has!!!!!!   (comment left and please let her know I'm demented, but know good vocals when I hear them, Roger).

Also, I need more of that voice! smile

Funny story, but when I saw what she was singing and before I went to the Tube, I thought: "All of me, why not take all of me?". (old pop standard. Think Tony Bennett or somebody). wink

That comes from being old. smile

This just made my whole day, Raquel and Roger!!!!!

I'm gushing, aren't I, guys and ladies? smile smile smile  So be it. I haven't gushed in a long time!

Bill
