I advise my students to get a hold of a small casio keyboard with rhythm and practice with it, it provides adjustable tempos and rhythms that are easier to keep up with and more fun then a tick tock metronome
I found one for 3 dollars at the local St.Vincent de Paul thrift shop or  you may locate one at Goodwill most just use batteries and are easy to take to the park or anywhere to practice to smile

merry christmas russ, your splashing out well. i've just seen a recording set-up by boss with all the fx from the ME 50 and i think 24 tracks. it looks good and quite cheap at under £600, probably cheaper your side of the pond. i've dropped hints to the boss, but she's not picking-up at the moment, spending all my hard earned on grandkids....i've gone right off kids!

talk in the new year buddy? yes we have not spoken in a spell smile

The 6th tone of any major scale is the relative minor of that key and a 6th chord can be substituted
example: C to Am could be played as C to C6 because the 6th tone or interval of a C major scale is A this holds true for any key.Regarding the omission of the 5th in a chord there are many altered chords that do not include the 5th I understand it as chord voiceing many choral arrangements imploy this,Im sure others can provide additional input on this topic smile

I am horrified at this act of madness I think a step in the right direction would be to ban all sales of guns on the internet especially assault weapons,I am not in favor of banning guns period but stricter background checks are needed.Guns for hunting, recreational use on a firing range or home protection is one thing but the ease in which these weapons are obtained by anyone has to be changed and one way would be that they could only be sold at a gun store where background checks and a waiting period to obtain more information on whoever is buying them I would include shotguns or any firearm in this,I'm sure this would create a hardship on retale sales but senseless acts of this nature could be diminished, this will not insure or prevent another crazy from useing another weapon you cant legislate human morality but it would save a lot of grief of victims families in this to frequent occuring nightmare.

All or most of the raga music is model no chord changes, redundant and boring he could have broken a few more and it still wouldn't have mattered that said a lot of people enjoyed his music I'm not one.

Zurf wrote:

he broke a string and he replaced the string and tuned it while continuing to play the song without interruption.  Can you imagine?

I cannot correct you because that is what I said it was,

OK try this, tap on your guitar just off the area where the pick guard is while forming an Am chord or Em chord.  go back and forth between the two chords and listen carefully.  You should hear the sound change although very faint but  you should be able to heard it.

In reference to part to I strummed an E very hard then quickly muted the guitar.  the whole room had a, for lack of a better word, HUM coming off all the other guitars in the room .  Unbelievable!!
*****this is called sympathetic vibrations Zurf described it another way both are correct*****

And correct me if I'm wrong but the face of your guitar where the hole is is called a sound board.
http://guitar.about.com/od/helpbuyinggu … dboard.htm

The fat part of the guitar with the hole,I think what you have come across is sympathetic vibrations much like holding down a chord on a piano and striking a note an octave up,the sound produced is the chord you are holding down smile

What are you calling the sound board?

Perhaps you could try playing in front of a microphone as opposed to direct input see if that helps. smile

I have been a good boy so I ordered a new RCA 24" TV to go with my new blueray player I will use my old 19" Philllips as my new monitor for the music pc recording program the downside is I maxed out my Walmart credit card but what the hell you only live once lol

I'm still waiting for the Pickles Per lol

The Soundcraft has monitors and sports 200 watts and a fair price it looks like they have a payment plan if you have some good credit this might be the way to go and there are always other choices but I would go to a Guitar Center in your area and check it out live and see if it has the punch your looking for smile

yeah it is sweet for $2500 big ones thats some serious cash for a garage band,I have the smaller 100 watt Phonic its ideal for me but for a group playing in a club you would need more watts at least 200 smile

The first thing I would ask is what is your budget? then go from there.

That is wierd you could try the print screen key and paste it into the word program and if you still get a black dot you may have to contact tech support or at least search the web and see if anyone else has this problem. smile

I think there is truth to flexability of the fingers from playing over a few years, I can reach and play chords from the first fret to the sixth and I have normal or even small hands in comparison to some. smile
