Thanks easybeat and agree smile

Any one else going to attempt  this one before the next one starts in June?  I have loved all the versions so far, been fantastic hearing them.

Hi all,  thanks for the welcome, I only just found this thread tonight, must have missed it on my travels around Chordie.  I love the idea of a nick name for me, I have been racking my brain trying to think of one.  Suggestions? I will also continue to try and think of one, so far all the ones i have thought of seem very lame lol

OK I have just listened to everyone else's versions and, out of the now four versions here, I put mine at 27th......

Jan. Wow! It works great with the uke and you have a smashing voice.

Joe. Brill! Great to hear a 'bluesy' version of this song, it works well.

Mojo. Super! Another different take on this song and you did a great job with it.

I enjoyed listening to all three of these versions. Well done to all of you.

Roger

Roger.......... Awesome, totally different again.  That is what is so awesome about us all having ago at these covers, how each of us does it so differently and they are all good!  And you are definately NOT 27th!!!  I have never heard of Band in a box by the way, is it any thing like audacity (which i have downloaded but never used yet!).

Ok so Topdown aka Jeff is going to be in Vegas this weekend and we have decided to record June's song. Do y'all want me to embargo it until June 1 or can we fudge a bit? smile

Woohoo, record it!!!   Will look forward to hearing it .........but wait until 1 June to post wink

beamer, plenty of time yet, they cant go up before June anyway ....... try different chords maybe? or just make it your own version, your own style, using  the same lyrics.   I haven`t tried this one yet, but will give it ago smile

Wow mojo ............... as i said to Baldguitardude, you nailed it!  that was awesome, really enjoyed listening to it, foot was tapping away with a life of its own smile  What talent you both have!

ctech, another great one.

That was awesome- way out of my league!

Really loved that style.
Way to go BGD!

Tigljk, it won`t be way out of your league ............. remember any song we can adapt to make our own, change it around to suit your style.  As an example, if one month a heavy metal song got picked, well i couldn`t sing that to save myself, so i would have to definitely change that around to suit my style.  Or some songs for example definately suit a male voice, in which case i will have to adapt to suiting my female voice smile

Here's my crack at it. Didn't have time to do the whole thing as I'm on lunch and also to pack for a flight in two hours smile

Ill give it a go even if my voice sucks, is it in the Chordie library

Yes it was in a movie, great song, listened to it over and over as a young girl.
Great look forward to hearing your version Beamer.  Amy has posted above on where to find chords for it smile

Hi easybeat, hey I checked both your sound cloud and my email.......nothing from you regarding your recording of this song.  Did you send it my email?

This is wonderfully and righteously performed. (For those who don't know, I only use the word "righteous", if a song makes me have chill bumps listening to it)

We both could not believe when I played it for Dondra and she wants to me to pass along that she's a fan of yours as well as she loves all the rest of the "Chordie Family".

As for me, I sure would like to add some soft brushes on my snare drum if I could add my contribution that way. I know for a fact that we have plenty of guitarists here who (along with you) could sure do that song up right with the respect it deserves.

Great, Jan!  Just great! smile

Your friends

Bill and Dondra

Bill and Dondra......wow what wonderful feedback, thanks so much smile.
Bill I would be honoured to have you put your snare drum to it, it would totally add to the song.  I can send you the recording if you like so you can add it, but will have to send it tomorrow when I am on the computor rather than iPad smile
