LOL....  it's a long story!  Here is the short version.  This song is about my oldest grandson. His name is Chris.    Originally I wrote: He's the kinda guy all the girls want to kiss.  All the girls cry when they hear the name Chris.  However, Chris would not have his name in the song.  Why I don't know?  So, I changed the lyrics to say:  He's the kinda guy all the girls want to meet.  All the girls cry when they hear the name Pete.   "Pete rhymes with meet".  Feel free to use this song any time you want to though Pete.  Please feel free to comment on my songs.  I appreciate it when you do.  Take Care, jody Wayne

Well, daddycool, ya never know?  If you write the right song at the right time and someone in the right place hears it, you just might get lucky?  If you are not rich or don't know famous people, then some tallent and a whole lot-a luck just might get you noticed.  That's the reality of this business.  Good Luck, Jody Wayne

A Soon To Be Lady by: Wayne Fiala

[D]She is our [G]baby, a soon to be [D]lady.And, I thank [A]God he gave [D]her to me.

The day she was [D]born,God [A]came to me in a [D]dream. Said:I've given you a daughter,

now she is your [G]baby,a soon to be [D]lady. And, [A]she is precious to [D]me.

[G]Be sure to love her, [D]take good care of her. And, [A]this is the way things, will [D]be.

She's three days [D]old, the weather is [A]cold.I'm drivng her home to our little [D]farm.

Mommy sings her a song. And [A]cuddels her close to keep her [D]warm.

She is our [G]baby, a soon to be [D]lady. And, [A]she is precious to [D]me.

As the days go [D]by,sometimes she [A]cries. And, gets little baby tears in her little baby [D]eyes.

Mommy rocks her in the cradle. And she, [G]sings her a song that I [D]wrote about her.

And Mommy's [A]voice sounds like the [G]voice of an an[D]gel. She should [G]be on TV,

singing on stage at-the [D]Grand Old Opry. And [A]somehow I knew, this is the way things, would [D]be.

In the blink of an [D]eye, time passes [A]by:And, she's a little bit [D]older.

[D]She comes to me,and [A]cries on my [D]sholder.She says:Daddy, my [G]boyfriend just broke-up

with [D]me.Oh, [A]I love him, but he [D]doesn't love me, and [A]now, my life is [D]over!I said: Sweetheart,

your [G]boyfriend didn't just [D]brake up with you.[A]God sent him a[D]way. And, [G]in his own time,

and [D]in his own way, he'll [A]send to you,Mr. Right,some [D]day.And [A]somehow I knew,

this is the way things, would [D]be.

In the blink of an [D]eye, time passes [A]by:And, She's a little bit [D]older.

[D]It's Late at night.From her [A]room I hear her sing-N-play gui[D]tar.And she's [G]singing a song

that she [D]wrote about me. And her, [A]voice sounds [G]just like her [D]mothers. She should [G]be on TV,

singing on stage at the [D]Grand Ol Opry. And, [A]somehow I knew, this is the way things, would [D]be.

In the blink of an [D]eye, time passes [A]by:And, She's a little bit [D]older.

[D]She comes to me,again she [A]cries on my [D]shoulder.She says:Daddy, I'm [G]going away,

I'm [D]leaving today.I'm [A]goin to Memphis Tenne[D]ssee. I'm gonna to [G]be on TV,

I'm gonna sing the songs you [D]wrote about me.

Daddy, I'm gonna make, [A]you and Mommy, proud of [D]me.

And [A]somehow I knew, this is the way things, would [D]be.

In the blink of an [D]eye, time passes [A]by:And, She's quite a bit [D]older.

Now she's in [G]NashVille Tennessee.We're watchin [D]her on TV.She's [A]singing on stage at the

[G]Grand Ol [D]Opry.She's [G]singing the songs that I [D]wrote about her. And she's, [A]singing the

songs that she [D]wrote about me.And, [A]somehow I knew, this is the way things, would [D]be.

God sent her,Mr. [D]Right. Now [G]she has a baby, a [D]soon to be lady, and [A]she is precious to

[D]me...And, [A]somehow I knew, this is the way things, would [D]be.

She's Only Thirteenby Wayne Fiala

Based on true events

        Viet Nam, 1968

[G]She was just born, [C]I just truned [G]ten. Her brother was, my [D]very best [G]friend.

In the twinkling of an eye, [C]time passes [G]by:Now she's thirteen and [D]I'm twenty-[G]three.

She's [C]only thirteen and [G]I'm twenty-three.She follows me around.It's [C]obvious to [G]see,

little miss thirteen, has [D]a crush on [G]me. The last time I saw her,I didn't have,

the [C]heart to [G]tell her, I had joined the Navy, and I [D]left the next [G]day.

[G]In the twinkling of an eye, [C]time passes [G]by:

(Spoken)>  I've been gone ten years now.  We're in a war now.  The Navy taught me to fly,

and I'm thousands of miles out at sea.   After all this time, I still get a letter from her,

almost every day.  Her last letter simply read: Today I'm very worried.  I pray your okay.

I still love you, and I know in your heart you love me.  I'm no longer a child.

Now, I'm the one who's twenty-three, and I'm still here, waiting for you, faithfully.

[G]My very next mission, [C]I got shot [G]down.It's been thirteen days now,and I [D]haven't been [G]found.

I think about her. And, I ask [C]God every [G]day, not to let me die alone, lost in this [D]vast open [G]sea.

As I felt my life [C]slipping a[G]way, suddenly she was there, [D]holding on to [G]me.

She put her arms around me, pressed her [C]warm full lips hard against [G]mine,

and I found myself lost, in an [D]ocean of loves sweet [G]time.

[G]In the twinkling of an eye, [C]time passes [G]by:

(Spoken)> God answered our prayers.  My shipmates didn't give up, they found me, and I'm almost home.

When the bus I was on, stopped in the little town I call home,  through the bus window,

I could see a young woman standing on the side-walk, all alone.

She turned and I saw her face; Ohh, I should have known!

I stepped down out of the bus, on to the walk.

Oh my, "she was cryin" as she ran to me...

[G]She threw her arms around me, pressed her [C]warm full lips hard against [G]mine.

And, I found myself lost,in a [D]ocean of loves sweet [G]time.

She [C]pressed her warm full lips hard against mine,

And, I found myself lost, for[D]ever in loves sweet [G]time.

[G]In the twinkling of an eye, [C]time passes [G]by:Now we have a daughter, [D]she's only thir[G]teen.

I'll Always Love Youby: Wayne Fiala

Do you re[G]member our very first [C]dance?

They was playin a [D]sad song, about a marriage gone [G]bad.

That's when I told you,that a mar[C]riage is like a [G]song,

and some times the song-[D]writers, gets the lyrics all [G]wrong.

But, This mar[C]riage isn't a [G]sad song,

because we write the Lyrics as [D]we go a[G]long.

And the ver[C]ses we're writing,all tell a story of [G]love,

that was first written-N-heaven, then sent to [D]us from a[G]bove.

And we [C]make the music a melody of [G]trust.

That is never sung out of tune for, the temp[D]tation of [G]lust.

[G]No this mar[C]riage isn't a [G]sad song, because we write the lyrics,

and [C]create the [G]music, that is [C]never sung out of [G]tune.

And the name of our song is,"[D7]I'll always love [G]you".

[G]Your my one-N-only,[C]best friend,and [G]Wife.

You're my partner in all things, for the [D]rest of our [G]lives.

Oh No, this mar[C]riage isn't a [G]sad song.

[C]I'ts an I'll always love you [G]song,

that has a copyright in Heaven, just for [C]me and for [G]you,

and that's the way we'll sing it, our [D]whole lives [G]through.

[C]This marriage isn't a [G]sad song, [C]It's a Heavenly [G]love song.

[C]This marriage isn't [G]a sad song,[C]It's an I'll always be [G]true song.

No, this marriage isn't a sad song, It's an, "[D7]I'll always love [G]you song".

"[D7]I'll always love [G]you".

Hi Old Doll.  Actually, there is no town Beaver Creek.  There is a creek with running water name Beaver Creek.  It is east of the towns me and my friends grew up in.  Which was Hennessey and Kingfisher Oklahoma.  The stickers are called: Sticker Burrs.  They grow wild just about anywhere.  They are round and about the size of a pencil eracer.  If you step on one they stick into your foot.  They are a little hard to pull out and when you do it hurts a lot.  My best friend Tommy passed away last year.  I miss my friend and growin up near Beaver Creek.    tears     Have a good day.  Jody

If Love Was A Drink
By: Wayne Fiala

                 G                                                      C                D
Now I don't like the taste of whisky,  beer or even wine,   but if love was a drink,
                              G                                                                            D
I'd be drinkin all the time,   you're absolutely gorgeous,  I love to hear you talk,
                                                                      G                  C
I get all intoxicated,   when I watch the way you walk,   all my friends are jellous,
                                     G
when they see me holdin you,   But, they may as well be drankin water,
                      D                                                                  G
cauzz that's as close as there gonna get, to tastin your special brew.

           G                                  C                       G
Now, if love was a drink,  here's somethin I might do,  fill my pool with your love,
        D                  G                                                           C                       G
then dive right into you,   I'd swim every day for hours,   and as the days went by,
            C                     G            D                      G
I would soak up all your love, and try to drink you dry.

   G                               C                G                          C               G
If Love was a drink,   I'd get an early start,  I'd start first thing in the mornin,
             D                          G                                          C                         G
wouldn't quit till it's  good-N-dark,  If love was a drink,   I'd order up a case of you,
                                     D                  G
I'd open up a bottle,  and have a sip-or-two,  I know how much I like it,
    C                           G                  C                    G                     D                      G
so here's what else I'd do,    I would chug-a-lug that bottle,  then go back for number two.
          C              G                       C                        G
Yes, If love was a drink, here's the next thing I would do, I would tap into a great big kegg,
                   D                              G
and sip then guzzle every ounce of you.

        G                                                                                     C                        G
Now, If love was a drink,  I would drink you from a bottle, from a can and through a straw.
                                                            D                                                 G
I would drink N drink N drink, and be the drinkinist, drunkinist, man you ever saw.
                                                          D
Now after all that drinkin, I might rest a while, but I'm a hopless loveaholic,
                               G             C                                                               G
and cain't resist your smile,  I'll betcha a hunard dollars, as soon as you walk in,
                                                      D                                       G
