Well that bites. Go to a pawn shop or two nearby, and that uke store, to let them know what to be looking out for.

I am considering getting laser vision correction and would appreciate hearing any information, whether for or against, of any experiences you or someone close to you has had.
I am blessed to live in an area with a tremendous amount of good medical providers. I have made assessment appointments with the two highest rated.

Eh. Most of us started playing music to meet girls in the first place. Topdown's just cutting out the middle .... uh ... guitar I guess.

Good plans. I'll be at the airport 3:45PP, being the only guy in FL wearing a down vest again, except maybe Amy who's not actually a guy. Whatever happens whenever it happens is pretty much what I have in mind. Someone else is driving.

I was referrring to the the Dutch artist and how his works make sense in part but not in whole.
As far as songs, when I had my shoulder repaired and was completely stoned for several days, I wrote more songs than the entire rest of my life. The only problem is that I have no idea how they were supposed to go. One title I have hung onto is "Bigger, Badder, Balder, Better." It was a song about Garuchi and I.

This ought to inspire you...

Or if you're not an electric blues guy, then maybe this more waterlogged variety...

Or if you're more of a fingerpicking sort, this might do it...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ni8KBhnebwE
Or here's a guy about whom I have heard it said that he plays the back of a guitar better than most people play the front...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFfB2JQmTCs
Wait. That's not what he's known for. He's known for his electric ragtime music. Well, maybe he ought to be ...

Or something more down to earth and attainable. I like this guy particularly because I use a guitar strap with the same design on it. It's all about the strap.

But liquor makes blood thinner, so it could wind up as an Escher type song. You may need to pull up some 1990's pop to get your head around the inanity of the lyrics you'll need.

Tuner shmuner. It's going to sound AWESOME. And loud. Which is pretty much the same thing. I'm eager to get my hands on it. I may need to bring my Guild for a contest of the Boomers.

Really nice photo, Zurf! Not even one fire on board, then? Good work. Any raccoons?
No raccoons either, though there may have been a bit of the raccoon's elixir of choice.

I look forward to April every year to go shad fishing. What a riot. I bought a 10' 7 weight just for handling a weighted line to fish for shad, but it's come in real handy for smallmouth bass too. Nice fish you have there, and that's some good looking water too.

I don't remember Puff the Magic Dragon being a train wreck in Virginia. I think so long as you're singing Amy, not many folks will care about your drunk fingers.
I'll have to look for a few C F & G sad songs to put in the Chordie book. I'd like to get some chords to some of Beamers Metal songs so I can try and get my bass licks up to par. I don't think there's enough time for that even for the 2015 Chordiestock, but permit me my delusions.

I was going to recommend the same thing as Whitewater55.
Also, try D'Addario Silk and Steel strings. They don't last long, but while they last they have very good projection and full sound. I buy them at my local shop for about $8/set, but you can get them on line for a lot less.
Also, I've tried Ernie Ball Earthwood series and they are GREAT. I love them.

Good picture zurf ,your Yamaha looks the same as my Yamaha fg401
They're about the same, I think. I don't know what differences there are, but I think they're very similar model. I put a Tusq saddle and nut in, and ebony bridge pins. I usually use D'Addario Silk and Steel .012s strings on it. Otherwise it's stock. The darn thing plays real easy and sounds pretty good with just those few changes.

My daughter took a picture of me that I really liked, so I thought I'd drag this thread back up and put in a decent shot. It was taken aboard the Moonbow, which is a sailboat belonging to Roger - Chordies Live Performance Light Technician. He did not set fire to the boat even one time while we were aboard. The photo was taken by my eldest daughter, who is getting quite a good eye for photography.
The guitar is Ol' Reliable, my F310 Yamaha that I learned on.

If you have a hard shell case, you'd probably be OK. What I did last year was to look up the policies of the airline regarding fishing flies and guitars. I abided by the policies as far as packing. I also printed them out and brought them with me. That way I could show to any company employee who was making up his or her own policy what their company says is the case. I also had a list of the company executives with me in the same folder, so that if I had to show the policies for guitar or fishing flies it would be impossible for whoever I was showing the policy to not to notice that I also had a list of corporate executives handy. I didn't need it, but I intend to do the same this year.

Good luck with your bonus. I just found out that while I earned a large bonus this year based on my performance rating, that the company didn't fully fund the pool, so I only get a piece of what I earned. What a drag. I shouldn't complain, as this is the first job I've had that earns a bonus and I really like it!

The problem with GAS is everything starts to look good! I would prefer a straight acoustic, so I should probably ignore my friend who already owns a Martin, a Gibson, and a Hofner. I hate him...

Electrics are not a step up from an acoustic. It is simply a different style of guitar.

"Perfect" gentlemen is a stretch, but we are all men who have been taught our manners, it seems. My wife said that I may as well have the word "SAFE" tattooed on my forehead. And no, that is not an invitation to Jim. If my wife weren't so adverse to tattoos, I'd consider Jim's offer of doing my No B Chord avatar for free. Oh wait. That was Selso's offer. Never mind. Back to the point, anyone who wishes to remain so will be unmolested by the "perfect" gentlemen of Chordie. Though I seem to recall Liz having a couple dances with Roscoe...
