Lovin Sweet Candy Never Grows Old
By:  Wayne Fiala

      G                                                C                                    G
Her skin is smooth as fine velvet,  her eyes dark as two pieces of coal,
                                          D                                  G                 D
her lips sweet as candy, and lovin sweet Candy never grows old.  XXX

   G                                                             C                                        G
I met her at the corner drug store.   She was sittin there drinkin a rootbeer float.
                                                                      D                                        G
Soon as I laid eyes on her,  I thought out loud:  Lord, this girl really floats my boat!
D      G                                                         C                 G
So, I sat down right beside her,  and ask her:  What is your name?
                                                                      D                          G
She smiled, said: My name is Candy, and you-N-me think kinda the same.
               C                                          G
I was just sittin here drinkin my rootbeer float,  soon as I laid eyes on you,
                             D                                         G
I thought out loud:  Lord, this guy really floats my boat.

            C                              G              C                                     G
And her skin is smooth as fine velvet, her eyes dark as two pieces of coal,
      C                 G                                 D                                                   G       D
her lips sweet as candy, ohh Lord, I think lovin sweet Candy would never grow old.  XXX

       G                                                     C                           G
Well me and Candy got married.  That was twenty some years ago.  Four kids, Candy,
                                                                             D                                            G
and a nice little home for my family, is evidence, that lovin sweet Candy never grows old.

            C                              G               C                                    G
And her skin is smooth as fine velvet, her eyes dark as two pieces of coal,
      C                 G              D                                            G      D
her lips sweet as candy, and lovin sweet Candy never grows old.  XXX

G                                                 D                         G
Time has passed by quickly,  since me and Candy got married.
                    C                         G
Now that was fourty some years ago.

Eleven grand-kids, Candy, and a little bigger home for my family,
                         D                                            G
is evidence, that lovin sweet Candy never grows old.

              C                                    G                C                                     G
And,  her skin is still smooth as fine velvet,   her eyes dark as two pieces of coal,
      C                 G               D                                         G                D
her lips sweet as candy, and lovin sweet Candy, still never grows old.  XXX

        G                                                   C                            G
We'll live out our life time together.   And, when it's our time to go,  with music notes,
                                                    D                                             G
above the words in this song, this is what I want written on my head-stone:
      C                                 G              C                                     G
Her skin was smooth as fine velvet, her eyes dark as two pieces of coal,
      C                 G                                         D                                                      G
her lips sweet as candy, ohh Lord, a lifetime of lovin my sweet Candy, never... grew... old.

Old Doll, that's too cute.  Sometimes when I go to a music store on the weekend.  There are usually children with parents there. If I sit with a guitar and start playing this song heads turn to look at me.  Children and adults gather and are laughing, clapping and some dancing.  Quite a few ask me for cd's.  I don't have any.  But, if I did I would gladly hand some out.  Children do like this song.  Thanks again Old Doll,  Jody Wayne

lol, lol.  Hi Old Doll, This song is based on a true story.  The ending is true!  The great mistery is:  Who is this woman?  Where did she come from.  Where did she go?  Will anyone ever know?  Thanks very much, Jody Wayne

Hi Old Doll,  I'm Old Jody Wayne, Really!!!  lol    It's nice to hear from you.  I believe there is "one" man and "one" woman out there for each other for life.  I have been married to my Mary for fourty years.  I could never imagine me with another.  If we lived to be four hundred I would still be with her.  I have a family member who is not so lucky.  And, that's how I got this song.
Thank you for the feedback.  Oh, and you are right.  There is a great sadness when lovers no longer love.

Wow!  Reality!  You have to have been there done that to understand the underlying meanings of this song.  Life is not always what it is cracked up to be, meaning: "It ain't always fair"!!!!!!!!!  But, we don't give up.  Or do we???  Good job Linus!  I would love to expand on this song.    Keep the faith,  Jody Wayne

While My Baby Is Sleeping AloneLyrics & Music By:  Wayne Fiala

(Male) [G]I'm a musician, that's my life long position.Somehow, I don't think I'm [C]wrong.

[D]I make a livin, playin guitar, and singing my popular [G]songs.

I write the lyrics, create the music, some-times the croud sings a[C]long.

[D]I like the night life, it's not a bad life, singing into a micra[G]phone.

[G]I sleep when it's day time, work when the moon shines, playin another Honky [C]Tonk;

for a [D]hundred bucks, plus tips, free drinks-N-tater-chips, while my Baby is sleeping a[G]lone.

Yes, [C]I'm a musician, that's my life long position. Somehow, I don't think I'm

[G]wrong. [C]I like the night life it's not a bad life, but I [D]don't like my Baby sleeping a[G]lone.

[D]So, [C]I told my wife,I could give her a better life,if I got a regular [C]job.She [D]put her

arms around me, gave me a kiss, then said:(Female) You are what you [G]are.

[G]You're a musician, that's your life long position. Somehow, I don't think you're [C]wrong.

You [D]make us a livin, playin guitar, and singing your popular [G]songs.

You write the lyrics, create the music,some-times the croud sings a[C]long.

But some [C]day some Big Star, will play his guitar, and "sing" your popular [G]songs.

Then you can stay home, your Baby won't sleep alone, and [D]you can teach me to, play gui[G]tar.

(Male & Female)[D]Now, [G]we're both musicians, that's our life long positions.

Somehow, we don't think we're [C]wrong.[D]We love the night life, it's not a bad life,

singing into micra[G]phone's.We sleep when it's day time, work when the moon shines,

playin another Honky [C]Tonk; for two hundred bucks, plus tips, free drinks-N-tater-chips:

(Male)And, my Baby no longer, sleeps a[G]lone.

(Female)And, Your [D]Baby's no longer... sleeping a[G]lone.

HER LYIN CHEATIN HEARTby Wayne Fiala

I put a [C]ring around her finger, but I [G7]couldn't put a ring around her [C]heart.

I [C]met you in a Honky Tonk, two [G7]years ago to[C]night.

Your friends all tried to warn me said, [G7]she won't, do you [C]right.

But your beauty stole my heart that day, and I, [G7]made you my [C]wife.

I put a [F]ring around your finger, but I [C]couldn't put a [G7]ring around your [C]heart.

I put a [F]ring around your finger, Lord, I should have [C]known from the start,

that I'd never ever own, your [G7]lyin cheatin [C]heart.

You [C]told me that you loved me, said you would, [G7]always be [C]true.

But last night I found you, in the [G7]arms of, someone [C]new.

Well, [F]feller you can have her, [C]me and her we're through.

But, what she did to me, some [G7]day she'll do to [C]you.

You can put a [F]ring around her finger, but you [C]can't put a [G7]ring around her [C]heart.

You can put a [F]ring around her finger, but you should [C]know from the start,

that you'll never ever own, her [G7]lyin cheatin [C]heart.

My [C]friends all tried to warn me said, [G7]she won't, do you [C]right.

But your beauty took my breath away, I fell in [G7]love with you that [C]night.

I put a [F]ring around your finger, but I [C]couldn't put a [G7]ring around your [C]heart.

I put a [F]ring around your finger, Lord, I should have [C]known from the start,

that I'd never ever own, your [G7]lyin cheatin [C]heart.

No one will ever own, your [G7]lyin cheatin [C]heart.

Lord, I'll never ever own, her [G7]lyin cheatin [C]heart.
