How about Lindisfarne? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mGyOKr8frw
The guy playing the 12er (who I think is the late Alan Hull) reminds me of myself in my college days during the 60's although my beard was a little neater
.
Roger
I have just noticed that you have now joined the ranks of the Honoured Members so many congratulations.
Roger
Thank you Helena,
I was encouraged to liven this one up a bit by a friend of mine and I think it works OK. Rest assured I will tread very carefully.
Roger
Thanks Ark, your music is always a little different and a pleasant change from the usual guitar/vocals that most of us do.
Keep in the saddle, with a few words of encouragement and pressure from your heels in it's flanks I am sure you can get the horse to move so we can have some more,
Roger
Hi Graham,
Good song and recording in fact very good for your first foray into this recording lark. Well done,
Roger
Great recordings as usual Phill.
I particularly liked "10 Years Ago" and "Eternity Begun", thank you.
Roger
Hi Helena,
Here is a message from Peters and Lee for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ww4v2cP-MDo
Roger
You could of course fit, or have fitted, an extra button to the body and elininate the problem completely. This was brought up a short while ago: http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=15746

I am most definitely NOT a bass player but I do know one or two and they have said to me that if they can see the chords to a piece of music/song they can use that to work out what to play.
I assume that if they see a G chord they know they can play G, B and/or D to be in key but I am guessing. In writing this I have now got myself interested in how they do it so I will make a point to find out at the earliest opportunity.
Roger
It is an incredible world that we live in. Thanks.
Roger
My (now repaired) Melody 12er was built in the 70's and I have no idea what strings were on her previously but she now sports .09's. The action is low and she is a dream to play so I beg to differ with tandm3. She also rarely goes out of tune - I love my 12er.
Roger
Toots,
I will never be able to sing this without a cheesy grin on my face now, thanks - I think
.

I like facebook. It lets me see pictures of Roger's kitties and weird looking bugs...
A new photo has gone up especially for you Amy
.
Ozyman, I use FB pretty much the same way.
My favourite Muppet clip is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KM6o1Hv7ec0&NR=1

Here is the link to Wikipedia about this song. As you can see everyone and his aunt recorded it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where_Have … rs_Gone%3F

Hi Chris,
I have had a good search and I cannot find any songbook called "Easy Acoustics".
If you go to 'My Songbook' and click on the one you think is public you will see the title "Easy Acoustics" and underneath, Note: This songbook is public. if you do not have this message then it is not public.
Just in case I will run throught the publish proceedure:
When you click on 'Publish' (the bottom button) you are taken to another page where you complete the 'Short Name', 'Category' and 'Description'. Then click on the 'Put online' button at the bottom you should then be taken back to your songbook title with Note: This songbook is public underneath. Go straight to 'Public books' and yours will be there at the top of the list. Mine is there now as I unpublished and republished to make sure I got this right for you
.
Roger
Thanks Zurf, not only did I enjoy that but my dog pricked her ears up and listened too.
Mind you her name is Minnie so perhaps she thought the song was about her
.
Roger
Now that's pure entertainment, Zurf. I need the chords to that.
Sorry Pete, you need to post in the 'Song Requests' section for that
.
Roger
Hi Phill,
Just had a listen, good song and recording. There is still a Bb in it when transposed to G so I bet Zurf won´t be happy with it
.
By the way I did not realise until I saw this that you were left handed.
Roger
I only have Facebook as most of my family back in the UK are on and I am able to keep up with what is happening there. I find it infuriating as a lot of the comments there are disjointed and inane. I also have far better things to do with my time than run an imaginary farm or cafe so I spend little time on it.
One good thing came from it recently, I was able to 'chat' with Toney (SouthPaw41L) and that was a treat, otherwise I find that it is pretty boring.
Roger
Hello Louie and welcome to Chordie,
I have moved your message to it's rightful place for you.
I have just looked in the index and see that there are 14 versions of this song listed and as Doug has already pointed out transposing to the key of your choice is only a button click away.
Roger
Hi Jerhone and welcome to Chordie,
The artist's names are English Dan and John Ford Coley who had 8 songs in the top 50 during the 70's. Sadly the '72 single 'Simone' from the 'Fables' album was not even in the top 100 so I have my doubts that you will be able to find the chords for it.
However if you can find, and post, a link to the song maybe someone can work out the chords for you.
Good luck,
Roger
PS Wikipedia supplied the information, I am not that knowledgable
.
Thanks Ark,
I have to admit thought that the harmony was digitally produced with my Digitech Vocalist Live 2.
Thank you too Jeff,
I am glad you liked the Bbm and I will keep any eye out for it appearing in a song of yours sometime. I do like the sound of a major chord followed by it's minor and I tend to use it rather too often.
