Thanks Dino and Doug, good advice.

It does say that with each upgrade it can only get better? Ya think? Mmmm

As I said it took hours then as if it crashed? Stuck at 80% I thought of leaving it on all night but I got the feeling it would still be in the same place come morning. I had to unplug the PC to get it to stop! When I switched on next morning it said going back to your last....whatever? It did and works fine but the app is still on my desk top but will soon find itself in the bin!!!
Great advice friends many thanks

Hi John

I'm a lefty too and in recent years I've bought proper left hand guitars which you should be able to pick up quite easily, maybe a little more difficult to find an acoustic. So what I did was find a guitar with a fixed bridge, mine was a fender f90 which worked fine. Though changing the nut or top bridge is recommended.

Good luck teaching your wife to play, got to be like teaching her to drive...

has anyone else been offered the win10 upgrade?
it popped up on my PC yesterday and took 2 hours to down load then another 3 hours to install but only got as far as 80% before it just seemed to freeze. i gave it a few more hours but it never got further than 80% so i stopped it but it is still on my desktop as an app.

could one of our computer savvy members tell me:
1. if i should apply the upgrade
2. is there a way to get it fully applied...so
3. my win10 is working fine so do i need the upgrade?

i would be very grateful for any help

WOW, big support for the Taffys...GO WALES!

to be absolutely honest though i'm more rugby than soccer and i'm not big on that, just the internationals. all my kids are good footballers (even the girls)

i've banned football from my TV especially when manchester united and liverpool are playing, 2 against 2 and i'm stuck in the middle! reminds of these words by the late great Gerry Rafferty; "clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right. here i am, stuck in the middle with you"

thanks guys, i don't know where the reggae thing came from probably from trying to find a counter rhythm. i didn't like the song at first, the story yes,  but not the instrumental bits, having listened to it several times i've decided that i do like it and to be honest i cant think of another way to perform it. any suggestions?

now that's what i'm talking about....this is my kinda music. i once played in a band who did similar stuff, good old days! loved the flares, long hair and tele's and the music was good too. i'll watch the rest later. thanks for sharing.

Know the feeling, to be honest I haven't wasted too much time watching Glastonbury but what I have heard did not impress. The only good(?) Part was that they play( mostly) live! It seems that this suicide music is what the kids want. In my set I play mostly up tempo stuff.... OK it's mainly 60s and rock and roll with a little country for good measure but I don't get many suicides lol I'll have to try harder.

while i was on holiday recently it seemed every music bar i went into the guitarist would do "the gambler" by kenny rogers sometime in their set. it must have made an impression because i think it influenced this song. it doesn't sound like it nor do i copy any of the words....

[song]

{t:One More Game.}

{st: Phill Williams.}

[C] The sun comes up. The sun goes down.
Luck is a wheel -  goes round and round.
[G] Some games you win – most you don't.
[C] You should walk away.
But they [F] know that you [C] wont.

Heads you loose – tails they win.
Drown your sorrows in a bottle of gin.
[G] Bet on black – and red comes up.
[C] House always wins – such a [F] shame - bad [C] luck.

[soc]

(CHORUS)

[Am] You win big – you should [Eaug] walk away.
[Am7] Your luck is in – so you've [D] got to play.
[Em] That's the deal – and the [Emaj] dealer wins.
[Dm7] Get your money down [G] before the deal begins.
Just one more [C] game. [C-F-C]

[eoc]

[C] Cut your losses and you go on home.
Or you can stay if they give you a loan.
[G] You just get deeper in and owe them more.
[C] Cant walk away till you [F] settle the [C] score.

(CHORUS)   [D]-Ooh ooh [F] ooh ooh, one more [C] game [F-C]

(SOLO; ||:D-F-C|-F-C:|| X4

[C] Sitting there with the GA crowd.
You've made it here but you know some how.
[G] It's not a drink or a smoke you fear.
[C] It's the thrill of the [F] game you [C] need.

[D]-Ooh ooh [F] ooh ooh, one more [C] game [F-C]

I like this very much and can't wait to hear the full band giving it what for.

I kinda thought that's what the mutt was up to. As you've got video evidence are you taking it to the cops so they can prosecute? At first I thought she might be photo bombing you....or should that be video bombing?

You've got more guts than me, I couldn't give full volume in a park on my own. Did you get any busking pennies?

thanks to everyone for taking the time to read/listen to the song, i'll begin with the last and work my way up....
ark, this song more or less wrote itself it took 10 minutes and the recording about an hour with practises and cock-ups!

thanks jim, you're a mate, unfortunately we lost, the old enemy scored in the last minute, best team won on the day. this song i wrote on wednesday last, from (as usual) a strumming session leading to a chord sequence leading to the words, as i said to tony (arkady) it took all of 10 minutes and the story just flowed. it wasn't planned it wrote itself...kinda!

thank you jandle, i had 3 gigs last weekend (2 on saturday) so my voice felt a little raw, but it seems like it worked out right.

dino & grah, thanks for the read and listen and giving me encouragement. this was a quickie and it appears quickies do the trick.

I used to have a program that once you had the beat you could name the chords and how many beats they played for. Unfortunately it was designed for XP and is now useless. That doesn't help does it? Sorry. hmm

Hi Phill

Good to hear from you. Dondra is doing great. Walking on her own, driving, etc., etc. It's all on the blog if you would care to take a look.

I myself am at my neuro-psych doc being evaluated to see if I'm  any crazier than I was 6 months ago. wink.

Thanks

Bill

IS THAT POSSIBLE? big_smile

give my love to dondra, glad she's on the up and don't take any (do do's) from those doctors

You could say this is about an assumed and possibly incorrect assumption.

Who Did I Kill?Undefined

(INTRO; [Ab-Eb-Db-Eb| Ab-Eb-Db-Ab])

[Fm] When I woke-up that morning, there was...

[Ab] Blood upon the walls.

[Bbm] Checked all over me, but I [Db] couldn't find the [Eb] cause.

So I [Fm] put my things in my backpack.

[Ab] Walked out of that town.

[Bbm] Hoped they wouldn't find a reason, to [Db] come and hunt me [Eb] down.

                                     (CHORUS)

So I'm...[Db] walking through the [Ab] desert.

And I'm...[Fm] climbing over [Eb] hills.

[Db] Waking-up in the [Ab] middle of the night.

[Fm] Wondering who I [Eb] killed.

Did I [Fm] kill?

(Same chords all the way through unless stated)

Don't have a TV, so I never hear the news.

Is there a man hunt coming. Who did they accuse?

I'm feeling so tired – and I stink like a rat.

Where ever I'm going I ain't ever going back.

                         (CHORUS)

I've come to the end I can't take anymore.

Living like a feral beast – a man on the run.

If I go back and tell them, admit to it all.

I'm gonna hang anyway, I can't wait anymore.

{soc]

Some people out walking come to a tree.

Found a boy hanging there, with a note on his sleeve...saying...

[Db] Who [Eb] did I [Fm] kill?”
