well, thank you all. i thought i'd kept that a secret? yes 65 and still kicking. my birthday was saturday and (for a change) i had a local gig, but still only 2 pints. now sunday was a different matter! the family took me to my local (after sunday lunch....of course) i didn't quite get to the state of being carried home, just guided and steadied! my beer belly has extended several inches and fosters (lager) made a rather large profit that day.
loved the guitar birthday cake, it took me a few minutes to realise what it was, realistic
thanks again

I'd heard a lot of Stratocasters so decided that's what I wanted. I played one in the shop, but I play lefty so had to order my guitar sight unseen. When it arrived I had to take it...big mistake! I spent the next 30 years trying to get it to sound the way I wanted. I failed. I played with band members who bought cheap copies but they sounded so much better than mine. Lesson learnt I won't buy any guitar on mail order regardless of maker or how much cheaper they may be. I must have tried hundreds of guitars till I found the one. I knew it as soon as it was put in my hands. Hope you find your one and you have a long and happy life together. Enjoy your concert and let us know how it went.
I think Irish1 may want the same treatment we gave jazz, I'm not inclined to do that....read the thread and ask advice or on your bike.
Hey yourself and see how you like it( semi quote from Hitchcock film) this android thing is a pain in the Mars. Lol
nice to see that there is someone else out there still doing "i saw her standing there" my version is a lot quicker. keep us informed and keep the vids coming.
all the beatles early recordings were with flat wounds. when i started playing around '66 round wounds were coming into favour. i tried flats once and hated them as they lost their tone very quickly. but i loved and still love the chunky sound on those early beatles tracks.
OK kazz, we may have given you a hard time but people have worked hard and spent a lot of money to pull Chordie into the 21st century and make it more user friendly, acceptable and attractive for old and new people coming along hoping to find an easy way to get to grips with new songs...yeh we all do it.
You must also know that none of us here, moderators included, knew of your problems but if we did we would be the first to offer help and advice, listen to your problems and give love. Notice that even though we could, we didn't ban you, you can still go through the forums, pick out songs and even participate in discussions without some 10 year old giving you grief.
As always if you have a problem we are here, ready and willing to help. But DON'T SLAG US OFF WE DON'T LIKE IT!

rugby sevens is a very fast game especially when played on a full size pitch. get yourselves a 6 pack, an easy chair and a few mates, sit back (if you can) and enjoy
another happy customer, someone who just wants to use the site without putting anything in! you may notice that this is his/her first post in the 3 years of membership.

i was thinking just the other day about our old friends that seem to have fallen off the map. glad to see you're still thinking of us slaving away at our PC's in this hot weather. welcome back and drop in more often we miss your company.
oh and welcome to the retired brigade otherwise known as the old farts club
Thanks Jan, you'll find in in my band and me.
Sorry got mixed up with another song. This one comes sold as seen, only free! I'll try and get it on later. Will it make any difference cos I'm not on FB?
Kevin, my apologies I over reacted so once again..sorry. I am the same as you apart from the gardening bit. As I'm threatening 65 the bones don't work as they used to, I'm sure you know what I mean?
The song is meant to show sympathy and solidarity for not only the French who sustained this latest attack but to all victims of this senseless vandalism and murder. I am Christian by the way but I have studied the Muslim religion somewhat and true Muslims abhors and detest the atrocities performed in God's name.
Oh dear, I'm preaching again. Once again apologies for jumping the gun, please continue posting and if you'd like email me through the forum if you'd like to chat.
Phill.
sure thing Grah, just let me know how to get it there. at the moment I'm still waiting till my voice is right, hopefully tomorrow night. do you want the edited version?

The folks in the homes have agreed about what is happening in the world, as far as the evil that exists in it, and turned right around with smiles on their faces and gratitude for the music they have heard. I think Pete Seeger would have agreed. But thanks anyway...
i don't have the remotest clue as to what you're trying to say or to what relevance to my song your post speaks? i'm guessing from your last line that you don't think much of it? that's fair enough but we do have an unwritten rule that states if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything!
if you hadn't actually had so many previous posts i and the rest of the mods here would suspect you of laying the foundations of some spam to be added at some later date.
we do have written rules which are;
no discussions (or arguments) on religious or political themes
and most importantly....PLAY NICE
you are a talented writer Amy, and it matters not a jot how long the words take to come out as long as the end result is this heart-felt and truthful.
i believe that as long as you think about someone who's passed sometimes they never really die. the frightening part is....are all your nearest and dearest looking down shaking their heads each time you do something you might be ashamed of. make-up your own mind as to what that may be.
thanks for sharing
How Many Lives? Phill Williams.
[Gm] How many lies are you gonna [Bb] tell?
[Gm] How many words from your mouth will [Bb] smell?
[Cm] You lie so well – you like to [F] stir.
[Cm] What you don't know – you make-[Eb] up as you [F] go.
[Gm] How many lives are you gonna [Bb] take?
[Gm] How many smiles on your face are [Bb] fake?
[Cm] Your heart is bad – smile as they [F] die.
[Cm] Turn away as the victims [Eb] family [F] cry.
How many [Gm] lives?
[Gm] How many souls are you gonna [Bb] burn?
[Gm] How long will it take them all to [Bb] learn?
[Cm] You lie so well, you fake and you [F] bluff.
[Cm] Your foot on their throat – till they scream [Eb] “THAT'S [F] ENOUGH”.
How many [Gm] lives?
[Ab] How many [Eb] lives will be [Bb] enough?
[Ab] How much [Eb] blood on your hands and [Bb] faces in your [Cm] dreams?
And the [Ab] look of pain and the [Eb] dying faces [Cm] scream....
[Ab] How many [Bb] lives will be [Eb] enough?
