Hi Robert,
I've just had a go at this and I've been strumming:
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
D - D - - U D U
I also think that the B chords are supposed to be B minor.
cheers,
Ant

Hi John,
Okay, I've given this one a go. See what you think.
intro:
Am C G x2
verses:
Am C G x2
pre-chorus':
B7 Em A
Am D G
chorus':
C D G
C D G - D/F# - Em
Am C G
bridge:
Em C G - D/F# - B7 Em
C Am D
outro:
Am C G repeated
It's hard to lay it out without the lyrics, but hopefully you can match it up with what you have worked out already. It'll be interesting to see whether you agree with the chords, or not.
thanks,
Ant
hi,
It's The Blues Country Style by Marty Robbins. Couldn't find any chords for it though, i'm afraid.
Ant
hi,
have you tried 335533 ?? thats the way I've got it on my copy of the chords and it sounds okay to me.
Hi,
Here's my stab at the chords for this one.
Intro:
Gm F Gm C
Verses:
F A Bb A
F A Bb C
F A Bb C
The "everytime...." bit
Bb C F Dm
Bb C F
"This fire.."
C Bb F
G C
Outro:
Bb C F Dm
Bb C F Dm
Bb C F Dm
Bb C F
Sorry, I can't post the lyrics (forum rules) so it's not immediately obvious what goes where. I could email you a copy with lyrics if it's any help.
Enjoy!

Hi,
That would be Flourescent Adolescent by the Arctic Monkeys.

hi, good choice of song btw. I really like playing the breaks in this one.
Anyway, to answer your question, the / indicates a slide up to that note from an undefined note below it on the fretboard (in this case a slide from either the 1st or 2nd fret up to the 3rd).
hope that helps.
Ant
I've seen E/G# in a couple of songs played 4x2400. Hope this helps.
To tune your guitar from standard tuning to drop D all you need to do is to tune your bottom E string (the thickest one) down to a D.
So your guitar is tuned DADGBe

Personally, I think if people want to edit a song they should add it to a songbook first and it can always be deleted if it doesn't need to be kept.
The idea of being able to add your own songs to a songbook is an excellent one and I think you should get on it straight away, so I won't keep you any longer <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif" border=0 alt="Very Happy">

Hey Kahuna,
As 'darren1' has already said there is a mistake on the chord chart and the chord should actually be played xx5432 NOT xx2345 (It should sound alot nicer as well <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif" border=0 alt="Very Happy"> ).
Keep at it though, I'm sure you'll get it down soon.
Ant
Kahuna,
I'm afraid I don't know of anything here that will explain what I mean, so I'll give it a go.
Okay, taking my first example of 320002. Each individual digit represents the fret to be fretted on each of the six strings. So, the 3 on the far left means that you should fret the third fret of the sixth (thickest) string.
The next digit from the left (2) means that you should fret the fifth string at the second fret.
The next three strings are open (0), so no fingers are needed here.
The final digit on the right (2) is for the first (thinnest) string so you fret the second fret of the first string. Voila!
Unfortunately, you rarely get an indication of which fingers to use with this sort of chord diagram, but in this case I would use my middle finger for the sixth string, my index finger for the fifth string and my ring finger for the first string.
This isn't mean't to be patronising in any way so forgive me if I'm covering things you already know, but I thought it was worth trying to explain it thoroughly.
I'm afriad I'm still not sure which chord you are trying to play. I've just been having a go at working it out from your description and I just can't get it. Maybe you could try and work it out like I have above and write it down for us to see.
Ant
Hi Spaminator,
I think the chord you have there is actually G7 as opposed to Gmaj7. All 7th chords have a flattened 7th which, in the case of G7, would be an F. Maj7 chords, such as Gmaj7, have an unaltered 7th (which would be F# from the G major scale). The notes of 353433 are G, D, F, B, D, and G so I make it G7.
I am prepared to be corrected on this, but i'm pretty sure that's the way it works. <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif" border=0 alt="Very Happy">

Ant
I personally play Gmaj7 like this: 320002. What fingering are you using?
Hi,
Have you tried the chords here:
<a href="http://dylanchords.nfshost.com/31_ohmercy/shooting_star.htm" target="_blank">http://dylanchords.nfshost.com/31_ohmercy/shooting_star.htm</a>
Great song! I might have to try this out myself later <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif" border=0 alt="Very Happy">
hi,
for learning the notes on the fretboard I found this was quite useful:
<a href="http://www.francoisbrisson.com/fretboardwarrior/" target="_blank">http://www.francoisbrisson.com/fretboardwarrior/</a>
and the basic version is free. woohoo!!
Okay, I think I've got one. I've found that when I add a text only format song to my songbook it seems to mess up the formatting when I view it later on.
Example 1:
<a href="http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.ultimate-guitar.com/print.php?what=tab&id=17393" target="_blank"> http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.u … tar.com/pr int.php?what=tab&id=17393</a>
Viewed from my songbook:

I haven't edited them in my songbook at all and I've used both IE6 and Firefox 1.5 to view them and they look the same. Also thought I'd take the opportunity to say thanks for putting together such a great site. Keep up the good work!
ha, my first post and I was beaten to it <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif" border=0 alt="Very Happy">,
I think this version is pretty accurate:
<a href="http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.guitartabs.cc/fetchfile.php?fileid=5873902" target="_blank"> http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.g … c/fetchfil e.php?fileid=5873902</a>
